If done correctly it doesn't hurt. It's not suppose to after all.
When I did my Ash crossplay, my binding didn't hurt. (Then again.. I didn't have much to bind.. since I guess I'm lucky that way.) and aside from my lack of a decent makeup artist to the point I said "FORGET THIS I DON'T WANNA MISS ANYTHING AT THE CON TODAY BY FRETTING ABOUT MAKE UP" and my horrid smile, it was pretty good. ^^
But yeah, if done right it shouldn't hurt.

thats reassuring, considering most of who i want to cosplay are guys. (if if you think thats a lucky thing, than i must be pretty lucky too xp )
i wouldn't miss a part of the (a) con by worrying about that ^.~

Lol. I'm Cosplaying as Namine at KitsuneKon 2012... If I remember correctly she doesn't have very massive boobs. I'll have to bind. stressed
I used to bind my boobs in 5th grade when they were very big for a 5th grader. (I was like a B cup... I think...) So I was conscious about it. And now it's not an issue for me with my D Cup Gloryness.

Well, thankfully you won't have to bind as much as you would if you were to crossplay as say.. Sora. So, that's a plus.
