I've been considering making either a leather underbust corset or waist cincher. I wouldn't be going for much real shaping, mostly just the look of the thing. But I don't know much about leather. Does anybody know what type or weight would work be best?

thicker the better... that way seams would provide the same function as lightweight boning. Make it 4 panels that lace together and you'll have something simple and effective (I'll get you photos of the one I bought a few years ago that serves me well)

Ohh...you mean for a corset made almost entirely of leather? I actually didn't consider that...that would certainly be easier than using leather in place of normal fabric...hmm...I'd love to see these pictures of which you speak.
