Sherry Cherry. Ugh. The name itself made him sick. It wasn't her real name, but it was the name he kept finding when he scryed her, and he was seriously ready to hex the bubbly b***h. Of course, that wasn't what he was supposed to do, or allowed to do. Not that he really followed the rules, but there was some serious hormonal bullshit going on in the house. Between Nigel's little tag along and his own apprentice, it was a storm of estrogen that he didn't want to deal with. Again, anyways. He'd tried braving it, and failed miserably.
So, instead of hexing her to constant disappointment like he so dearly wished to do, he instead called forth his magic, and plucked her out of her life to drop her, quite unannounced, into his study.
”Hello, you cheery b***h. How do you feel about children?”

Sherry Cherry was just as friendly, cheerful, upbeat and disgusting a person as Zak had first seen. However, moreso than that, she was the type who could roll with things and keep up her smile, which was really worse. Suddenly being dragged away from her work was no dent in her demeanour, and being greeted by being called a cheery b***h was NOTHING. She could take that easily.
"Kids? Kids are awesome." the woman answered, tossing her long cherry-red hair a bit and putting her hands in the pockets of her apron. "Why do you ask, sunshine?" she asked, the bright smile holding a neat little sense of sarcasm.

Oh god. She was worse in person. He was tempted, deeply, to flee the room like a little girl. He had too much pride for that, though, and so as she called him sunshine and smiled, he smirked back at her, a stark contrast to her cheery optimism. He looked as if he should probably be sunshiney, with blonde hair, and bright eyes, but the smirk he shot her was dark, cruel, and not the least bit sunshiney.
"Glad you think so. Why don't you drink this?" He held up the vial, and it lifted out of his hands, floating over to her. He wasn't about to force her into it, but it would certainly add glee to his day if she did. She could, however, refuse, ruin his plans, and simply be forced into taking it home like everybody else who came through his study, or his basement.

Sherry took the bottle carefully between two fingers and smirked back at Zak, seemingly pleased by how her sarcasm was affecting him, "For someone who knows enough to bring me here so suddenly, you don't know me that well." she teased and kept her forefinger over the cork of the vial as she turned it over, looking at the contents with amusement.
"My business is cooking, I know better than to try strange things without finding out what they are first. And I don't trust you enough to give me anything that's actually edible, sunshine. So why don't you be straight with me, hm?" Her tone was still so light and airy, as if she were the one in control of this situation, as if she could tell just how much she annoyed him, and was going to use it to her advantage.

Zak wasn't sure if he wanted to hex her or hug her. She was...taunting him. Goddess be damned, she was taunting him on purpose, and she liked it. A cat-like grin spread across his face, and he leaned forward to rest his hands on his desk.
"I know more than just how to bring you here, honey. But, let's not get into that. You know, you're terribly dark for someone so cheery. Why should I be straight with you? You seem to like games..." He cocked an eyebrow at her. "You're certainly enjoying the one you're playing with me."
Oh, he was conflicted. He didn't like not being the one teasing, and yet, he did so enjoy when someone posed a challenge. He didn't hate her as much, after all, since she'd stopped being so incorruptibly good and sunshiney.

"Yes and if you didn't have some sort of use for me, you wouldn't have summoned me into your presence, particularly if it's so loathsome to you." she half replied cheekily, "Anyway, haven't you heard, the brightest lights cast the darkest shadows. And anything you warm in the oven gets somewhat darker."
She chuckled at his observation that she was picking on him, "Of course. I have to find a way to make this enjoyable for myself somehow. Otherwise I'd have to waste time on worrying about why I'm here or what you want. And that's not half as much fun."
"So what's in the vial, hm?"

Zak was in love. Well, not really, but he was pretty damn close. He laughed at Sherry, shaking his head and standing up straight, walking around the desk until he was a few feet away from Sherry.
"Well now. Where's the fun in telling?" He beamed, pushing his hands into his pockets. "You like fun, Miss Cherry. Consider it a game. There are others, like you, who have been given these vials. Find someone and ask them. Or, figure it out yourself." He shrugged, and pulled a hand out, already forming the spell to send her back. "You're a smart woman." He chuckled. "Until next time, Miss Cherry."

"All right. I'll remember to keep it out of the way of people who might drink it till I find out what it is." she said back with a grin, waving her free hand and looking in amusement at the bottle as he sent her back. All in all, a pretty successful meeting, to say the least.
At home, she looked around for a comfortable place to set the little vial of pink stuff for the present. Best to keep it somewhere nice where she could see it - like maybe cushioned safely in the pages of that magazine on the desk, the one she was using for inspiration.
"For now, little vial, you can stay here." she told it with a smile, "After that, we'll see where you go."
