The Lava Springs themselves were a project started by a rather intrepid entrepreneur who saw the value of a "hot spring" that could be used by fire types; unfortunately, the business went bankrupt before it could even get off the ground, leaving drilling incomplete. Mysteriously, however, an unnamed investor provided the remaining funds to finish the springs.
A small entry of a measly few coins will let you walk down the well-made path. The support beams on either side of the tunnel and the electrical lamps running along the top give it the illusion of a mine shaft, but those who come inside will eventually find themselves standing in front of a massive pool of molten rock. The magma itself is entirely still and surprisingly pure due to the extreme depths, leaving it the perfect swimming pool for those who prefer temperatures hot enough to kill normal pokemon.
