Lul, I just got accused as cheesing because I build a fairly early pool at 11 just to be safe in case of a 6 pool that I hadn't scouted yet.
Instead of finding a 6 pool, I found an early expand, so I timing pushed with 6 lings and essentially won, man did he get PISSED. lol

fyi though, unless you get really close spawns, i think 14e14p will be 6pool on EVERY map..

fyi though, unless you get really close spawns, i think 14e14p will be 6pool on EVERY map..This was cross position on shakuras, I normally don't like opening 14 hatch in ZvZ just because of that possible 6 or 7 pool timing with double spine crawlers, even if the maps are big, I'd rather scout to see if there's going to be an FE and either take advantage of it with a big harassment timing window or expand myself and devote all my larvae to drones. Problem is I feel like reacting to an expansion with an expansion is never a good idea because then you're just doing the same thing as your opponent, but slower, which essentially puts you behind, so it seems logically speaking, that it's a better idea to attack when you see them expand, to do the damage, and then maybe throw down an expo of your own during the attack. I don't know, I'm not exactly masters league so I probably don't know what I'm talking about. lol

I don't know, I'm not exactly masters league so I probably don't know what I'm talking about. lol well playstyles differ from one bracket of skill to the next so that's fine, but with proper micro you SHOULD be able to hold off 2 spines and lings on a map like that... the trick is 3 drones per spine that's building, then the rest just try to get a surround on the enemy lings OR kite them around as long as possible; the key is to be delaying/stalling fighting them head-on until your lings spawn.. so the longer he doesn't engage your drones, the closer you are to winning.. and 3 drones can take on a spine as it's building.
of course, easier said than done, but after enough losses you get the hang of it X).
