Veratus long ago had been simple squabbling villages, fighting amongst themselves, and not together against outside enemies. That ended about twelve centuries ago when the Vampires arrived. They unified the humans into a kingdom in which the Vampires ruled. They gave the human villages protection, while the humans offered up tribute in resources they had. For many centuries peace ruled. Now it is the middle ages and technology is now including gunpowder with primitive guns and cannons. A group of rabble, the bandits have started to cause chaos within the kingdom. On top of that many foreign races seek to rule Veratus for themselves. The royal coven in leadership have retreated to the castle. Who will rule? Who will serve?
