Eve had walked quickly to the cemetery, but once she stepped into it's grounds hey pace cut in half. These were holy grounds to her people and knew she would be safe here. Her whole body relaxed as she walked amongst the dead. Part of her found it fitting to feel so at ease with them when she had put so many to rest that day. The circles under her eyes were prof enough of that nightmare. Even after so many years her feet were sure, following the path that Gabriel and she had walked so many times before. As she got close to the monument she began to fiddle with the flower she had plucked along the way. A single wildflower. Resting it gently at the base of the sculpture, she stepped back and bowed her head offer a quick prayer. Opening her eyes she looked up at the face of an angel and let out a shaky breath.

"Mi'lady. I am afraid I have broken my promise to you. I have not taken care of your children, of Gabriel, as I said I would. I have done more harm than I ever could have imagined. I'm sorry." She wiped her eyes as she fought to keep her voice clear enough to talk. "I feel so lost. I do not have anyone to turn to for help or advice. My father is lost to me. My sister will not hear me. And my mother.... She-she... She is killing everyone who was loyal to my father. My lands are in ruin. I am not able to free my sister of her evil. And now, after staying away for so long I find Gabriel in ruin. I had relied on his strength, on his memory for so long. I do not know if I can repair the damage I have wrought upon him. He has loved me this whole time as I have loved him. But I do not understand. If he loved me so greatly why did he never come after me? Why did he never...."

And with that she could no longer hold in the emotions she had kept bottled deep within her. So long she had feared that the reason was he did not care for her as she did him. Since returning and finding out that he was ruined by her leaving she questioned so much that she thought to be true about the these past 500 years. Her knees shook and for a moment she thought she would collapse. Taking deep breaths to steady herself she looked back up at the statute.

"Please, mi'lady. I need your help. Now more than ever before. Help bring Gabriel back from the darkness he has fallen into. We do not both need to be lost in ourselves. He deserves to be happy. To live in the light. Even if I cannot be. I will stand beside him until I can stand no more."

"Lady Irina...."

With one hand clutching the neck of her cloak she stood there in silence staring at the sculpted face of her would be mother in law. It had been so long ago when they had met. Both of them still human. Who would have ever thought that both families would have been turned and find each other again. Fate had such intricate designs that none could grasp. Not even she. Her face was pained looking as she stared up the angels face. Was she the kind of woman that Irina would have chosen for her son? And even though Gabriel still loved her did he still want to spend his life with her? Only her? Was there ever anyone else? What if there was? More so, what if there wasnt? She still couldn't understand why he just didn't go after her. It's not like he didn't know how to get to her fathers castle. Mothers. Now its her mothers castle. Her eyes raised up past the monument to the sky.

"Oh father... What am I doing? How am I supposed to save everyone from her? Or from myself?"

A shiver ran down her spine as the image of herself covered in blood flashed across her mind again. She hadn't even realized it but she had scrunched her eyes shut. Eve had to blink her eyes several times to clear them so she could see her surroundings again. Walking up and resting a hand on the base of the monument next to the flower she stared off into space. When she came back to reality she saw the wet spots on the stone from tears that had escaped. Again. The sun was getting low. Time to go. Pressing her fingers to her lips then to the stone she stood back and offered a prayer again for Irina's soul, her fathers, and for all those she had sent to other side. After standing a moment longer she started heading back to the tavern. She had a long journey ahead of her to Nai-rah and back again.
