Got this idea from the chatterbox. What books or authors would you tell people to avoid and why. Mine would be:
Harry Potter--because it's dumb anyway. (read my rant in Harry Potter: Worth the hype?)
Twilight--it just sounds retarded. I think I know the whole story already without even reading it. and it's dumb. Plus I never had a liking for vampires anyway.
Earagon--I couldn't finish the first book. it is not remarkable in any way, shape or form.

I totally agree with the whole Twilight and Eragon avoidance thing (not so much Harry Potter). I didn't really like the Earthsea Quartet by Ursula le Guin very much either.

So THAT'S why I always see Danielle Steele books at Goodwill...xP
The Gallagher Girls Series is absolutely horrid unless you're a third grader.
The Blue Bloods Series isn't my favorite either, although it's a step up from Gallagher Girls.
And yes, I agree that Twilight is horrible, but...I think it's one of those books where you should read it in order to realize how horrible it is and be able to jump in to a conversation about it instead of just staying out of the loop. Yeah, it'll pretty much be a waste of time, but hey, at least the books are better than the movies.
