We are personally not fans of Palms... so of course we moved into a rental with a bunch of them lol They're very.... thorny. I had to wear my gloves, then my husbands leather gardening gloves over that and I'd still feel a p***k every now and then.
Some people, just hate any kind of manual labor... which, definitely is a part of gardening so I think they get wrapped up in that part and thus hate gardening. Manual labor like say... trimming up that big bush all over our fence like I just got done working on. Man that was a work out, my arms are nice and sore now. It's not pretty but at least I fear the fence falling over a little less now. rofl

What a cute little garden! It's a shame about the pesky cat. I guess it just couldn't resist using that nice tilled soil lol.
Are you going to be doing any virticle growing on the fence or wall? I'm hoping to fence in my yard in a couple of months and I can't wait to be able to grow beans and cucumbers all over it!

Sushi, have you ever grown bush beans before?
whats the best support for them while they're growing? a long horizontal like wire or string trellis, or more up?

I have personally never grown bush beans before so I can't say. The best I can gather is that with anything that requires support, is to make it sturdy.

I hadn't really thought of doing that. We have one fence just about falling over from some kind of... bush, shrub, vine thing so that kind of kept my mind from going in that direction at all yet. I do think it'd be interesting to give it a try eventually though.
As for that bush thing, I trimmed it up a bunch and am still debating doing even more. I'm actually even debating just killing it off. We don't know if its ours and the neighbor says he doesn't know if it's his because it's been there so long. I like the greenery, but like I said, it's taking down the fence!
Some photos of what I did:

Goodness, that thing sure is a monster! I can't imagine trying to separate all those vines from the actual fence. I'm sure it's going to be hard work. Good luck on defeating it!
