It's ok to be different. I'm in university too, and there're classes where I don't know a soul. It's bearable because university values independent work, and not the group-oriented thing back in high school.
Think on the bright side! At least you still have a gf to comfort you when you get back in front of the computer and stuff. It sucks that you aren't able to do the whole bf/gf thing with her because she's so far away, but what about us who are single? =P
Damn, I can't help but miss my ex even though the breakup was nasty. sweatdrop

Every time there is a major change in life (like going from high school to university) things are going to be difficult. What you have to try and do is find new comfortable things in this new environment. Do you really enjoy any of your classes? See if there are others that are really enjoying that class that you can talk to. That way you at least have something in common. Is there a club at school that you would be interested in? That is another great way to meet friends with common interests.
When I went into university I also had a lot of difficulty being away from my friends and feeling really alone so I made sure to spend more time with them after school and on weekends.
As for your girl friend, there is no doubt about it, long distance relationships suck. Do what you can to stay connected and visit when you can and that's about all you can do.
If you are close enough with anyone you could try getting a part time job and sharing an apartment with someone. I found that the independence and the experience of working (if you can find a half decent job) can be very rewarding. Just knowing that you are able to do what you wish and support yourself is a nice feeling. Good luck

yhea I had to, 0 friends, 1 GF who's about 300miles away, and I'm in college. Times will get stressful if your program is anything like mine your lucky if you can get 3 hours of sleep every night. All I can suggest really is to spend as much time talking to your GF as possible and work to keep your mind off things. When your stressed you can have weird boughts of depression. If your school or work isn't whats causing stress you may want to see a concellor they are very helpful when it comes to pinpointing stress 3nodding .

Iternal Dragon You guys are right and all, and ive thought about the exact same thing but sometimes i can't handle it to tell you the truth i mean someitmes it just like.. BAM hits me (sorry for the bad typing in class XD) it really sucks to me because i don't know what to do because the depression is caused of not being with my gf... that... i have no place to ... hide in a way... -sigh's- i used to smoke to forget everything, i used to cut and she made me stop and i can't do anything of that matter so what now?.... -sigh's- i study yes and i keep my self ocupide but... nothing afterwards... -sigh's- like to hang out or stuff like that, my mom say's i should (don't know i have a gf) she say's i am always gloomy that i should try and get out a bit more but... to what? ... were? with who?... i'm alway's alone i have no one to talk to, no one to go out with... it just sucks so badly.... Well your kinda hanging out with peaple this counts as socializing in some way, but the best thing to do whould just be to try to be optimistic about everything. Just do what I do and and think of every day as being one day closer to seeing the one you love, because eventually your gonna see her again (or meet her in person for the first time). Think of everything you do as an accomplishment and reward yourself if you do so do somthing (I use cookies for every class assinment i complete) Even if being optimistic dosn't seem like somthing you whould like to do, then just try it for a bit you never know you might actually like it.

Either A) I forgot, or B) I never knew in the first place, but are you a guy or a girl? My answer depends on knowing this fact.
