[ These Are A Few of My FavoriteThings: ] Jacklynn loves computers, video games, machines, and generally anything that has to do with technology. Being raised in rural Oklahoma on a farm, her access to such things has always been restricted due to her locale and her family's limited income. This only increased her desire to learn more and work harder so that some day she could have complete access to all the wonderful things she had read about in tech magazines and online blogs.
Specifically, her most favorite thing in the world is her laptop which was a hand-me-down gift from her eldest brother, David. Don't come between Jackie and her laptop. No. Really. Thanks to her father's and older brothers' influence she's an excellent markswoman who definitely knows how to defend herself (and subsequently her property) whether it be with firearms or her fists.
[ These Are UnGood: ] She very much dislikes storms, especially if there are tornadoes are involved. Weather aside, she dislikes having her personal space invaded, and she also hates it when people move and/or touch her belongings without her permission. She has been known to get into outright wrestling matches with her siblings when she has discovered that something of hers has been moved around or taken without her consent.

[ Aquila Status: ] Jack isn't a pro just yet, but she has managed to get her hands on an visitor visa to apply to the tournaments. She is beyond excited, and she's experiencing more than a little bit of culture shock at the vast difference between her home and Mangetsu. She got there by way of Dallas and subsequently DFW International Airport. She has had a taste of the "big city" life in her time spent in Dallas, but it hardly compares to the utopia that she sees Mangetsu as.
[ Personal Merits: ] Jack's creativity knows no bounds. Her limited resources growing up has lent to her ingenuity. A prime example of this would be during a time in which her family had run out of money during midwinter and could not afford the cost of refilling the propane tank to heat their home. Rather than borrowing money from relatives or otherwise incurring any kind of debt, Jack had the forethought to unhook the vent to their electric clothes dryer and redirected the warm air back into the house. This effectively conserved what remained of their propane so that they could still cook on their stove top.
Another such occasion was when her father could no longer afford their cable TV. She convinced her father to cancel the subscription to save money and re-routed the TV to be used as a monitor for a small PC. She then used the computer to stream movies and TV shows from free sources on the web.
[ Personal Flaws: ] Because Jack is so intently focused upon her own goals, and due to the strict control she holds over her own feelings and emotions, she often overlooks other people. This makes her appear to be a very cold, unfeeling person. She also becomes very frustrated if people don't support her views, her goals, or simply can't keep up with her pace. Her frustration is easily seen in how she will become withdrawn, and depending upon the situation, agitated with whomever she feels has crossed her.
When she finds herself at odds with her family she is most likely to become withdrawn where her father is concerned. If he voices his disapproval on her decision making, she will generally confine herself within her room until any discussion of the topic has ceased.
The last time this happened, it was over her moving out on her own and traveling to Dallas alone. Her father eventually relented on the subject, but not after Jacklynn locked herself in her room for three days.
Conversely, her brothers have a talent for provoking her. She is not quick to show her anger, even if she is feeling it, but over a period of time she will completely lose her temper. When this happens, her outbursts tend to be very vocal and borderline on violence.
The last time her second eldest brother, Samuel, antagonized her for days while she was still in highschool on how her plans for the future were nothing but pipe dreams and would never happen, he ended up with a black eye.
Jack also suffers from a serious form of lilapsophobia and astraphobia due to growing up in the "tornado alley" of the southwestern part of the United States. Gentle rainstorms she's usually okay with, but heaven forbid she hear lightening strike or thunder roll across the sky. Should such a thing occur while she is at home, there's a distinct possibility that she will hide herself away in a closet or a bathroom; if neither are available to her there's always… under the bed. She generally cannot be coaxed back out into the open until the storm has completely passed over. In public, she just tries to grin and bear it if a storm rolls through, but her anxiety is blatant in how she begins to quake, pace, and ramble.
[ Brief History: ] To facilitate her need to learn and expand her horizons outside of her rural background, Jacklynn threw herself whole-heartedly into her school work at Chickasha High School and graduated with honors. She was offered a scholarship to the University of Texas at Dallas based on merit and was accepted into the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. She moved away from her family home in Oklahoma leaving behind her father, two older brothers, and more cats than any one farm house probably ought to have.
She's still in the middle of working on her degree, but she is beginning to have doubts as to whether or not that's what she really wants. She has taken a semester off from school to re-charge and is re-evaluating her General Plan for the Future. Currently, she lives with a roommate and fellow class mate, Alexis Morgan, in an apartment not too far from the UTD campus in Richardson, Texas. She makes money working part time as a clerk at a shooting range. She also does occasional freelance coding for CSS website templates in her spare time.
[ Physical Description: ] Jackie is about 5' 9" and has an athletic build which is mostly from helping her family tend to things on their farm. She's a little stockier than the average girl which sometimes makes her feel less than feminine. She is blatantly a tomboy, and is usually okay with it. She keeps her hair cropped short either in a bob or pixie cut and wears minimal amounts of makeup. She has baby blue eyes, lightly tanned skin from working outside in the sun, and mousy brown hair that has naturally occurring highlights that are again due to time spent out in the sun. Generally she wears jeans, a t-shirt, and maybe a flannel shirt or some other long sleeved dress shirt as a jacket accompanied by either sandals or sneakers depending upon the weather.
