THIS I HAVE READ! So I know about it! This is how it went down:
Toki☆Meka! was a one-shot story written in 2001 about a brilliant VERY young genius girl (Ikase Hoshiko) who created an android of the perfect best friend. However, the robot has it's own quirks...like building other robots at will. O-o
Toki☆Meca! was the adapted manga that ran from 2005-2006. It basically is the same thing as her original chapter, except Hoshiko sends Meka/Mecha-Chan to her cousin and dear childhood friend. She orders her robot creation to care for her cousin, Asada Mimi and the story continues on from there. It follows a similar theme seen often in Sailor Moon of becoming an idol. Be forewarned, there is a bit...lot of panty flashing that goes on. It's also a very high energy manga that makes me tired just looking at it. The characters are very type A and for some reason I imagine them never talking always yelling. Then again one of them IS a robot so she has an excuse.
This is considered to be the first manga series finished by Takeuchi-Sensei since the conclusion of Codename: Sailor V and Sailor Moon but personally I disagree. This is the first one that lasted more then 1 book however. Her shorter ones do tend to have an ending to them.
