The arguement typically is that sizes have gotten larger due to the expanding waist line of the United States xp So by today's standards she would be more like a US size 8 (I'm guessing). We'd really need her measurements and her height to determine if she was plus-sized... Which I just found on Marilynmonroe.com, and it lists them as:
Height: 5 feet 5 1/2 inches
Weight: Varied, 115 - 120 lbs.
Measurements: 37-23-36 (Studio's Claim); 35-22-35 (Dressmaker's Claim)
She wasn't plus-sized by tody's standards (and even though she did wear a size 12 dress at the time, back then most women you see weren't overweight due to a healthier diet... and they weren't overly skinny due to eating disorders... so she would have been a good, healthy, normal size) She definately had a little more meat on her bones than most starlets today, but she isn't technically plus sized.
