The ProgramName: Gestalt Type: Malware Class: Virus Gender: Male, probably Apperance: See right; Gestalt has form and mass, but at the same time appears to be almost flat. He is missing sections from his arm and neck as though they were ripped out. His mouth and eyes simply glow bright white. Portions of his mouth stick to each other and stretch, though they rip open if he opens his mouth wide enough; when his mouth is entirely closed, it is invisible. He never blinks - he may not have any sort of eyelids. His eyes may dim if he is hurt or sleeping, however. Mission --Primary: Enter and destroy any data and systems possible. Secondary: Consume anti-virus and malware programs. Ability: Gestalt's intended function is simply to destroy. At lesser levels, to seek out and delete data whenever possible; while weak and not able to fully destroy entire programs or systems, he has a drive to break and devour data whenever possible. His intended task is all out destruction on any and all programs and systems he comes across; essentially to spread and break down - no theft, no controlling, just plain and simple deletion and shutting down. The line he carries is his actual method of destruction - a deletion routine that is his creator's primary focus for the moment. There are other fragments of previous focii in his data, but none of them provide him with actual abilities. Gestalt .. >> /So you said it hurts here? Gestalt is a sadistic b*****d. If he can hurt someone, anyone, in any way, he will. Even his creator is only slightly out of his delight of pain, but that might be more because of his inability to harm him and his total reliance on him. Gestalt loves hurting others, whether it be through words or action. Keep your enemies close, and your friends non-existent. Gestalt generally sees no need for friends. Anti-Viruses are obviously unwelcome near him except to devour, and other Malware are nothing more than a means to an end. For the most part, he doesn't care about personal attachments and would just as soon destroy those who help him once he's gotten what he wants as let them go free (or, hah, help them back). You are crunchy and taste good with ketchup. Part of Gestalt's many programming fragments are the remains of a completely different protocol. While he retains none of the abilities, he has an insatiable desire to devour other data. It provides a decent "complete deletion" method, though it is disturbing to most, to say the least. You scratch my back, I'll stab yours. Gestalt is hateful. That much is obvious. However, fragments of his initial programming - which his programmer, not being particularly adept at cleaning his work, left in - give him moments of clarity and almost friendliness. During these times, he is actually fairly calm and rational, but the effect never lasts. Generally the result is a false sense of security and trust leading into an ultimate betrayal. There are technically still flags in his programming that could lead to a tenuously "stable" friendship, but the unfortunately jumbled flow of logic that creates him makes this improbable at best. The psych ward threw me out... Gestalt's programming is ... a mess. He is essentially a scattered mess of spaghetti code that somehow still functions. He went through several iterations before his creator finally settled on making a virus - he actually began as a protector, but that idea was quickly scrapped. While this has no bearing on his actual abilities, it leaves him a bit unstable, ranging from his "intended" destructive nature to almost happy or friendly. It is not inaccurate to say he is rather split with himself, because while his "functional" code dictates that he is cruel, and loves it, the early sections and personality bits periodically activate and make him either forget briefly, or potentially feel remorseful for his actions. Thankfully (?), his programmer has begun working on "bug catching" functions to try and weed out these moments of clarity.

The Creator
Name: Velal Entellis
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Appearance: Average height, average body; Velal is 6'1", weighing about 152 lbs. He doesn't exercise, so he isn't muscular; he doesn't eat too much, but he does remember to eat enough. All in all, fairly "normal" looking. Short, scruffy blonde hair, slightly bronze tone skin, and freckles. Freckles everywhere. Alternatively wears glasses or contacts; green eyes. Dresses in plain, one-color shirts and usually black slacks.
Nationality: American
Place of Residence: Louisiana area
Affluence level: Eats, pays bills. Saves anything extra. Doesn't pay attention to it, probably has a sizeable account and simply ignores it.
Family: Three sisters and a brother in various parts of the country. Mother and father still alive, living in Texas area.
Friends: Primarily online.
Short History Synopsis: Velal was born to a relatively middle-class family, youngest of four children. Became not-youngest when he was five, when his only baby sister was born. The family lived in Texas, with none of the children living anywhere else until it was time for them to move out.
Velal developed as a bit of a recluse, finding the people in his neighborhood and city rather distasteful. He spent most of his youth online, playing various MMOs and chattering with friends. As he grew older, he withdrew further, beginning to turn rather irritable to most people in person. He took up a programming hobby, dreaming of being able to support himself without the need to interact with the "outsiders" more than necessary.
It was during this time period of young-adulthood that he began to develop an interest in more unusual things. He picked up a bit of a roleplaying habit, and began to discover odd and often somewhat violent fetishes. Being secluded as he was, these interests began to flourish and take root as a core part of his formative personality. In addition, it was here that he began to learn how to actually create AI and various useful functions - though he never studied formally, and never bothered to learn how to code properly. He has an amazing grasp on logic, which lead to functional programs, but unfortunately he also has no standards but his own, leading to a flurry of bugs and oddities within everything he created.
After graduating from highschool, his parents insisted on sending him off to college. Having no interest in any of the classes, he enrolled primarily in online courses whenever possible, gladly holing up in the small apartment his family afforded him. This was when he first began development on his GESTALT project. This was also when his primary ... funding source was created. When not programming, Velal was, and is, often collecting or creating material for his site. The site itself is fairly popular, but the content makes it that many people never complain about his multiple tiny charges to their credit cards. Unethical, of course, but over the years Velal learned to hate most "outside" people and the sour taste they left in his mouth.
After a year and a half of college, Velal quit and moved to Louisiana. There wasn't any particular reason for the location, other than the fact that he actually enjoyed the food.
He has lived in the city for years now, running his website and developing various programs. His primary focus has been GESTALT, who absorbs much of his time.
Descent into hatred and the GESTALT project: Velal is not a person with a tragic past; there is no large, defining event that shaped who he is today. He isn't a figure with a sole source of inspiration. More, instead, his feelings towards the outside world generated as the result of a rather sneaky hate spiral.
His intelligence is above average; he isn't exactly a genius, but he's not "normal" either. Early on, the slow-speaking drawl of life and speech in his native Texas began to irritate him. His interest in electronics and online life wasn't unsual, but he found it more fascinating than many - here, a collection of ideas and people that weren't "normal." He wasn't held to any particular standard but his own, and people would still like him for it. And if they didn't, he could easily ignore them. This lack of ease and understanding began to grate on his nerves, as did the "idiocy" of the general populace.
As he grew, everything that made him mad began to stick with him - particularly after he quit college and experienced the "real" world. While he is not homocidal by any stretch of the world, his jaded view has led him to greatly resent most of humanity and desire harm to most of the populace. Everything - from getting cut off in travelling to getting the wrong food delivered to his home to bad decisions by politicians - everything sticks with him, making him more and more irate at the world.
Hence the evolution of GESTALT - referring to the project - and Gestalt, referring to the AI.
In the beginning, GESTALT was designed as an anti-virus. The purpose was to assist Velal from potential attacks. Being so opinionated and into so many "odd" things leads one open to attacks, after all. After leaving college, much of the functionality was erased (leaving the AI bits as "why not? It won't hurt anything") and GESTALT shifted to a more aggressive focus. Velal worked on the project as a trojan for a while, intent on simply infecting and disabling others.
Somewhere around his 25th birthday, Velal realised something he wasn't sure why he hadn't earlier - if he wanted to be on the offensive side, why didn't he really put himself on the aggressive? So the program functionality was deleted again, once again leaving behind fragments of AI code. From there, Gestalt was born.
Once the gate was unlocked, the flood began. All of the violence and surpressed hatred Velal harbored was poured into the AI of the new project. The fantasized sadism, the cruelty, the irritation - all of these formed the majority of Gestalt's personality.
Now, the continued development of the project is a bit of a catharthic experience for Velal. It satisfies the hateful, violent urges he has and simultaneously pleases him that Gestalt is more than happy to completely devestate the systems of any of those "outsiders" that are stupid enough to let him in.

I love Gestalts IMAGE -fukin nice art right there, so cool- But his personality..like his form..is coming off a bit Flat to me.
I personally, fluffing LOVE how evil, sadistic, and down right creepy he is. LOVE IT. But..I read and all I get is..Destroy,Destroy,Devour, Maim, Destroy! Not that that's bad. Your character will definitely work in this world. But he might need a bit of tweaking first.
Class - He seems like a perfect virus, breaking in and tearing stuff to shreds! But if he is indeed going to be a virus -and he certainly seems like one, its like..the perfect fit- Then his entire You scratch my back I'll stab yours, trait..just cannot work. Virus's cannot appear friendly, non threatening, etc. Infos Virus's are big, mean, nasty, and a bit slow. He would be more likely to 'scare' another malware into helping him then, connive, cajole and trick one. It looks like, along with some virus aspects, you've sprinkled in a few..more trojan..and wormlike traits.
His need to destroy, for a virus, its perfect. His need to devour..to manipulate, or anything else. Is not. Not to say it can't be a part of his personality, if you work it in there just right! It just cant be a part of his ability's.
Also..Definitely..I've gotta see this guys owner..his programmer. And wonder what he was thinking/doing/ messed up a piece of code maybe? Is the programmer himself a little nuts? Hateful? Vindictive? That made this malware so damn AWESOME and INSANE?!
Yeah..gotta go deeper with that one, because I want to see him evolve into something with lotsa depth. Cause he would sooo work here. Once a few things are explained a bit further maybe?

Sweet.
Honestly, the only reason that the manipulation was worked in was that I was afraid he was turning into too much of a destructive brute. I'm more than happy to take it out of his abilities, though I think fragments of it might fall into his actual personality.
I have a lot of development forming in my head for him, and his creator, but I wanted to make absolutely sure that having something that cruel and destructive in nature was ... well, you know, cool. 'Cause I thought it fit a virus but I know that having something rather deranged might not fly in some shops.
Imma edit him + write up character pre-bio today.

edited Gestalt: Thought about it a bit, adjusted to compensate for personality oddities; essentially added a second layer of personality above destruction that seems to fit the "madness" idea that he started as.
