I understand what you mean, and you're right that it's not the end of the world. Still...
Speaking for myself alone, I suppose my annoyance isn't really about this achievement; after all, there are others, like the Conventioneer one, that I could never obtain, that I still thing are cool achievements. The autocash achievement alone isn't an annoyance by itself, but when taken in the context of the enormous emphasis that's seemingly been placed on GC lately, it's a little frustrating. *shrug*

Time to chime in- Achievements are totally useless! What good are they anyway? I mean it, they don't do a damned thing for you except give you bragging rights and for what? No a g-d damned thing. Who in the hell cares how many people tip you in forums or how many friends you have? I got a ******** achievement for picking a side in the halloween event and the only reason I did that was to collect wing stickers so I could add those to my collection= at least those add up and you can cash them in for items.

Ladyoh Why would one achievement for autocash mean the end of any achievement earning? that's just silly. I mean, sure they shouldn't have changed "any gc" to "autocash", and instead just have two achievements, one for gc and one for autocash. But goodness you all are acting like it's the end of the world. I'm literally rolling my eyes. I don't buy GC, does that mean I shouldn't have tried earning ANY of the achievements? Because gasp. I can't get the GC one? I never said it was the end of the world. stare Just the end of the achievement hunting. It was a feature that, while admittedly totally pointless and only sometimes fun, was something that could be enjoyed without spending a single cent. There is no point in trying to collect them all now, there will always be that one that is forever unobtainable*, so why bother? There shouldn't be one for buying with gc and one for autocash... there shouldn't be any cash involved in this system at all. But like everything else on here these days, its being overmonetized to hell and back. Ruining yet another feature, even if it is a stupid one, to make a quick buck. That's what's so upsetting about it. Also, that it's worth more than almost every single other achievement, even Conventioneer, speaks volumes about where their priorities lie now. It's not with the community anymore, it's with what's in the community's wallets. *Yes, I know about the 3 hair contest ones granted to only one user each. Those don't count because they are, and always were, unavailable to basically everybody. This one's just unavailable to anyone with self respect.

At least not as long as he who must not be named is still in charge. Don't get me wrong, I love guilds, and they are LONG overdue for that update they promised. But who knows what sort of stupid GC pushes they'd ruin it with now? As it is, this is one of the few features not tainted by monetization left... and you just know they'd do something horrid to violate it for all it's worth. gonk
