From what I see, if you look at the series close enough, there is evidence that the characters have some kind of secretly romantic relationship with certain others of the show. I'm sorry but for one thing, no one would do things like Goku does for Sanzo, for another person unless they were in love. And I can say pretty much the same for Gojyo and Hakkai. These pairings are soulmates as I see it, and if it was a guy and a girl acting the ways these guys do with eachother, you would not doubt that they were in love. It's only your dislikeing for homosexual relationships that speak against these outcomes. And for further proof, Kazuya Minekura has done other Shounen-ai Manga, such as "Wild Adaptor" and "Ariso private high school student council excutive comittee" I don't know about "Bus gamer" Because I haven't gotten a chance to read it. More proof is, well, look at some of the pictures that are in her artbooks, no straight man would be in those poses with another man. Like that picture of Hakkai laying down and Gojyo partilly on top of him, while they are handcuffed together, And how many pictures have you seen of Goku clinging to Sanzo affectionitly? My last article of proof, is that Kazuya Minekura herself has done Doushinji of Saiyuki. In which the main theme of the story is shounen-ai, and yes, the couples are Sanzo and Goku as well as Gojyo and Hakkai. If any of you want to complain to me of this post, please attempt to refrain from doing so,I don't appriciate rude comments very much. And if you feel you must, please tell me through a pm instead of starting up an argument in the guild. And to those who took the time to read this and agree with my viewpoints, thank you.
