Usually, Galestar would engage in a friendly banter with him, sometimes regarding his increasing age. This time, however, Galestar did not join in with his teasing, which worried Valiantstride. Instead, the siamese leader openly admitted that he had a lot on his mind, to which his mind set off warning yowls to. It made him even more worried when Galestar rejected his offer of freshly killed prey, as the enticing smell of fresh pigeon was hard for even the fullest and most stoic warriors to resist. For Galestar to reject it without so much as a second glance, it must mean that something was definitely troubling him...something big. ”Sure Galestar, if you want. Am I right to assume that this journey is not meant to be accompanied by your son and my apprentice Galepaw?” It was a rhetorical question, but he didn’t know if Galestar would want to use the chance to educate his son about the responsibilities of an adult and a leader. Following them around would be much more of a learning experience for Galepaw than simply chasing rabbits and climbing trees, but with Galestar being so strangely secretive, it must be something that he did not want anyone else to know about. ”Really, Galestar, whatever it is must be troubling you a lot...your fur looks like it’s seen better days.” He pointedly glanced at Galestar’s flank. His fur was not messy or dirty, but it looked as if it could use a good thorough groom. Seeing as Galestar usually kept his fur in pristine condition, this set off another set of alarming yowls in Valiantstride’s mind.
