Atlas Chapter 002: The Hourglass Isle
The Hourglass Isle is arguably one of the most diverse and ethnically scattered areas in the entire world of Eternum. The geography of the place is just as scattered as the people inhabiting it. From small mountains, to grassy plains, each cluster of islands located in this hourglass shaped region has its own specialties and advantages. Most common advantages for each island, is the abundance of (usually) rare metals, beneath the surface. Therefore, the Hourglass Isle is one of the leading exporters of some of the most valuable metals for scientific research and magical exploration. Due to the Island-Metal relationship, many of the larger islands were named after the metals that could be found there. The largest islands include, Dialus, Selvi, and Chasonius, along with a few slightly smaller, but also important islands including Talith, Ferrus, Erium and New Selvis.
But along with its rich economy, the area also has its downsides. It is constantly wracked by storms. You see, the east and west parts of the Hourglass Isle, are also known as the Storm Channel, which is where oftentimes most of the worst storms originate.
