"This is really supposed to be Mteule's job." He rumbled with disappointed irritation. Poor Matifu, he'd been roused out of a perfectly peaceful slumber, dashing the tranquil warmth of HIS sunbeam just to find an irritated looking Mteule facing him. Mteuli had run off again. What a surprise. That seer was even more Tail-bound than Matifu, which did sadly say a lot. Matifu was a flirt, but he never deemed flirting more important than his responsibilities, no matter how dull.
Well, at least that's what he liked to think. He was really just annoyed, grumpy. Kauta needed her lesson for the day, however, and Mteule couldn't waste time chasing his twin down so Matifu was sent to do it instead.
"Honestly, what is this jungle coming to when I'm getting bossed around by someone younger than ME??" ((D: The nerve! XD))
With a massive yawn, the lion named after "Fine sand" stepped further into the open, pacified by the abundance of warmth to be found there. He'd do whatever he could to help the struggling pride, especially now that his sister had cubs to look after. He couldn't get over being an uncle again, it was just unbelievable how small his little niece and two nephews were, and so cute! Just like their mother, and striking like their father.
Matifu didn't pay a great deal of attention where he went, only keeping his nose trained for Mteuli's scent. Where had he gone?

Not ten yards away, a white ghost of a lion was startled from a sleep of her own. Theluji's ivory colored head shot up from the long dry reeds in which she'd made her bed, her round ears swiveling back against her head. Mmph. Rather rude awakening. She thought neutrally to herself, ironically unaware of the fact that the other who had accidentally roused her had been awoken in no more polite a manner.
Ever the romani, Theluji could never bear to be in one place for long. Her midnight wanderings changed her bed every night. She certainly hadn't realized the night before she had 'pitched camp,' so to speak, just beside foreign pridelands, for she'd been drunken on the moonlight that had saturated the landscape, that had turned her world into a copse of silver where she had blended in more naturally than any other place in the world.
A smart golden gaze followed the tawny lion in front of her, and Theluji's ears pricked up absently at his verbal complaints. Curious by nature, the white lioness roused herself and stalked a few paces forward in his trail, trying to filter herself in between the shadows of the acacia trees. It was certainly harder to blend in at day time, but she could at least be discreet. She wondered where the male was going...

"This is unbelievable." Matifu grumbled, lowering his head for a moment to glower around the area before lifting it up again quickly with a shout. "Mteuli! Get your scrawny a** out here!!"
Priest or not, he'd give that guy a talking to!
It was only then that he felt... Was he being followed? Matifu stopped in his tracks and glanced back the way he'd come, it was hard to tell. Any prey animal were already silenced by his frustrated yell, so he had no way of judging by their reaction if he was alone or not. He took a scent of the air, peering about with eyes so fair they seemed to be blind to the world.
"Is someone out there?"

The other suspected her presence, it was clear from the question that followed his annoyed yell aimed towards one known as 'Mteuli.' Acquiescing, for to pretend to be invisible would do no good, the female slipped out from the cover of the trees falling into step beside him, She tilted her head in his direction and opened her mouth to speak.
"You do seem to like to make noise." She observed bluntly, with no introductions whatsoever. "You must not see too many birds, I'd except they'd all known to shelter themselves before your arrival." In her low mellow voice, the statement was more along the lines of simple musings than a quip. Her golden coin eyes searched his blue ones for a response, flitting momentarily across the darker hatchmarks that climbed his shoulder.

"You do seem to like to make noise."
Suddenly Matifu's day was looking a lot brighter.
"You must not see too many birds, I'd except they'd all known to shelter themselves before your arrival."
Matifu let out something of a sheepish laugh, anger quickly forgotten in place of embarassment. "Oh, well, no. Truthfully I'm usually not so boisterous. Sorry if I disturbed you, just didn't realize anyone else was around I guess."
More like he had been too frustrated to care. Well, the arrival of this female was a good indicator. She was older than Mteuli but age wouldn't stop the young seer. He might be close by just yet, maybe hiding from Matifu after hearing that bellow... dammit.
He sighed, realizing this, and his head drooped again even with his shoulders once more. "Though your point still stands. I won't be finding him anytime soon now. So, do I need to make up for shaking up your afternoon?"
He seemed slightly hopeful, smiling easily at the female who-- in every aspect --reminded him of the Mbingu blessed lions of his pride. Her pelt was a soft and sleek shade of white, black dipped at the tuft, and she had stunning golden eyes that resembled the rays of the sun.

Theluji's brow rose slightly in appraisal, but she granted the other a subdued, easy smile of approval as he stepped into the conversation without missing a beat. "You're looking for someone, then." It was obvious enough from the exasperated calls she'd heard but a few moments before. "I'd offer help but I haven't been awake long enough to see any others." She couldn't help but give him an impish, open mouthed smile, for chances were she wouldn't have been awake at all yet if it hadn't been for him.
"I suppose you could tell me where I am." She said in response to his next comment in a most neutral matter, for she sensed instantly that an answer with any type of charge could be construed as flirtatious. However, her pitchy plumed tail swished at her heels in an almost coquettish manner as she pulled herself a couple steps ahead of the other to glance around the jungle ahead of her. "I didn't have much time to look around last night before I fell asleep."

"One of our pride's troublesome priests. He seems to disappear quite a bit on his own. I think he enjoys making us play this little game on a regular basis." He provided with an easy going smile, not seeming to mind her neutral response that followed shortly thereafter. "Sure I can,"
Matifu watched her step ahead, following at the same pace he had before. "You're just a ways from the entrance to the Unity Walker's land, I'm surprised Mteuli hasn't come your way yet though, he practically has an extra 'Female-sense' going on. Mind if I ask your name?"
