Gender Female
Age 300+
Species Fae (Shape Shifter)
Occupation Ringmaster of Cirque du Noire
Appearance
As a Shape Shifter, Silencieux can change her appearance as she pleases. She has a natural form that she was born with, though it is rare to see her in said form. In her natural form she stands a couple of inches above six feet and has a very slender and fragile looking frame. Her limbs are long and slender as well, which gives her the appearance of being even taller. The fae’s skin is pale, being a nearly shimmering white color with a soft blue undertone that appears more at her cheeks and at her joints. Her face is long and slightly oval shaped, and her flat nose does not give her much of a profile. Her silver hair falls in soft waves down to her hips, and breaking through her hair are two very sensitive curled antennae. Her ears are somewhat long and wide, having a cut appearance at the ends of them. Between her fingers and toes is a thin layer of webbed skin, and her iris and sclera are both a single gray blue shade.
The form Silencieux is seen most in however appears to be a woman about the age of twenty-four. She’s much shorter than her natural form, standing at about five and a half feet. Her form is filled out more, the woman supporting a curvy figure in this form. She has soft facial features with high set cheek bones and wide, somewhat round red eyes. Extending from the sides of her head are her long, black elven ears with she has the ability to move around with her emotions. Her hair is black, though appears to have shades of purple when it is in the correct light. It reaches to her shoulders with most of her bangs sitting to one side. She has let her nails grow out to a sharp, claw like point, and her canine teeth are somewhat long and pointed themselves.

Personality
Before any misconceptions are made, it should be known that Silencieux is a very mentally disturbed young woman. Past experiences have made her mind very fragile and potentially extremely hostile. She is prone to flashbacks, though the woman has taken to medication and caffeine to keep them at bay. She avoids sleep, as that is when her flashbacks are most frequent, and she will go a week at a time without it if she is able. Silencieux is also in denial about her mental state. As such, she does not want to be reminded that she does, indeed, have a problem. Doing so will put her in a very hostile and angry mood. That being said, however, the woman is a hard disciplined pacifist, absolutely hating to resort to any form of violence. She works with her words, not her physical abilities. To those who do not know of the mental turmoil that plagues the poor woman, she appears to be caring, yet at the same time very stern with her troupe. She has little patience for immaturity and goofing around, and values her alone time very much.
Abilities
Silencieux is a natural born Shape Shifter. This means that she can change her appearance and body structure at will. Her specialty is mammals and humanoid figures, though she has been known to appear in an avian structure at times, if the situation calls for it.
Her species depends on less oxygen than most others, so she has an amazing ability to breathe under water for long periods of time.
She has no natural magical skills to speak of, and the only magical ability comes from the Heart of Izunala. With the amulet she has been able to transform and control people into beastly creatures, which she has been using in the Cirque du Noire’s show.
Weaknesses
Silencieux cannot simply transform into anything automatically. Being able to change into another creature for an extended period of time usually takes the woman a good bit of observation and research. She also cannot Shape Shift into the undead, meaning she cannot take the form of a zombie or a vampire.
If she is weak or severely injured, she will revert back to her natural form and will not be able to shape shift until her energy has been restored.
But most likely her biggest weakness is her own mind. As mentioned before, it is extremely fragile, and she can easily be sent into a frantic state. If she breaks down like this, it would not be difficult for someone to subdue the woman.
Backstory
Silencieux comes from a society of rare Shape Shifting fae that live in small tightknit religious communities. Their species can only reproduce once in their one thousand year lifetimes to avoid a gross overpopulation, though the average mating couple has two or three children at one time. The children once they are born are raised in a communal nursery by older members of the community until they are old enough to fend for themselves. Her people worship the Great Moon Spirit, as they believe they were created by her and they all originate from the moon due to their pale skins and “changing faces”.
It has only been in recent history that the communities of Shape Shifters have been able to go on undisturbed. For centuries they were often abducted from their communities at young ages, being forced to use their powers for another’s gain. In wars, they were known as living weapons, being forced to shape shift into what their captors needed. It is because of this that many Shape Shifters refuse to leave their communities, and many communities have gone into hiding.
A young Shape Shifter by the name of Sil, however did not heed the elder’s warnings when they were against her leaving the community once she became of age. She wanted to see the sites of the world, and knew that she could not do that staying where she was. When she became old enough to leave the care of the elders, she left her community, traveling around the lands of Gaia. She was much more open about her Shape Shifting in those days, as it had many perks and offered plenty of advantages. People were intrigued by the young woman, often inviting her to parties and events to showcase her abilities for guests.
She saw these as wonderful opportunities. She had free meals, places to sleep, met so many new people, and learned so much about the culture of the land. Sil could not even understand the warnings that her elders gave when she left home. Her wants for more travel was increased with the invention of the airship. It was a magnificent piece of machinery, and Sil wanted to be involved with them in any way possible. Sil had heard rumors of a floating city in the sky known as Porta Denia. There she would be able to learn how to work on an airship and she could take to the skies. She continued her travels on the ground however, as she needed money to get up to the floating city.
Sil never saw her trip to the great floating city, however. The young woman was traveling from the city of Barton towards Durem when a snow storm struck the area. She became lost, disoriented. She was exhausted from attempting to navigate through the storm and had already reverted, exposing her natural form to the elements and anyone who saw. As she began to lose hope, she spotted lights in the distance. With a new sense of vigor, she trekked on, heading ever closer and closer to the lights. When she reached them she found that it was a miniature tent city, set up for the circus that was in the area. She cried out for help to the people in the tents, praying to the great spirit that someone, -anyone- would hear her.
Maybe she would have been better off facing the snowstorm.
Sil had been taken by the Ringmaster of Cirque du Gothique, a man who many had claimed to have sold his soul to a demon to remain immortal. For sixty five years she was subject to harsh conditions and beatings if she did not perform in the show as the Ringmaster wanted. When she attempted to escape, an bewitched collar was placed around her neck that blocked her shape shifting abilities, and she was locked in a small cage when she refused to do as the Ringmaster ordered. After years of torment, she broke, practically becoming a lifeless doll, doing whatever the Ringmaster asked of her without much question. However, the abuse continued, for the Ringmaster feared that if he let up any, she would attempt to escape once more.
It was only by chance that she had been found in her condition. A young performer was curious as to where the Shape Shifter had disappeared to each night, as she wasn’t kept with any of the other performers. He searched all through the grounds, being absolutely horrified when he discovered her whereabouts. He released her from the collar and helped her off the grounds, taking her so far as a convent that was in the nearby town. Afterwards he spread to the other performers the conditions that Sil had to endure, causing most of them to leave and the circus having to shut down.
For nearly five years, Sil remained in the convent, her mind slowly twisting and warping from her experiences with the Cirque du Gothique. She began to plot how she would get back at the people that caused her so much harm, and expose the sick world of the circus for what it truly was. She began to research and discovered the Heart of Izunala. It would be perfect for her plans, and she left the convent to seek out the amulet, as well as the funds she required to go through with her plans. This proved to be easier than she expected, as the other riches found in the tomb that housed the amulet was more than enough for her to start her own circus.
And so she built it from the ground up. She hired performers and workers, other misfits and used souls like her. The circus grew, and the woman was ready to begin her plans.
Facts
♦ Silencieux doesn’t hide what she is to her troupe. But only her troupe. She will openly speak of what she had to go through in her years of captivity and passionately speak of her hatred towards the people who did that to her.
♦ Silencieux is a very religious woman. She believes that the Great Moon Spirit was the one to get her through her years of tribulations, and wills her to carry through her current plans.
♦ Silencieux likes extravagant things. The more expensive, the better. Keep this in mind, as one can use it to their advantage when they are in need of bribing the woman.

A single, bright spotlight from above switched on, illuminating a single circumference on the platform below. Standing on the platform was a small woman, dark haired and scarlet eyed, who stood with her hands outstretched to the cheering audience. A large grin was spread across her face, and it almost seemed to curve up unnaturally. She had a small earpiece looped over one of her long, black pointed ears with a small microphone that hovered close to her mouth. She scanned the audience, taking in the faces she could manage to see with the lack of light. They all seemed so excited, eager to see what was in store for them. If only they knew better.
The platform’s mechanics began to turn, lifting the woman higher into the air so that she stood above the audience. The platform was small, anyone with acrophobia would be in the middle of of a panic attack, though the woman stood there as if she were standing on solid ground. She had a thick air of confidence around her, and when she spoke that same confidence projected in her voice. “Ladies and gentlemen!~ Allow me to introduce myself!~ I am Mademoiselle Silencieux, and I would like to extend a warm greeting to you all on behalf of the Cirque du Noire!~” She paused, waiting for the audience’s applause to die back down.
Slowly, around the platform more lights began to turn on, dimly revealing the rest of the performance floor. Already there were performers placed all along the area, though they remained frozen in the half light. “Tonight we bring you a show unlike that of which you will ever see again!~” She began to speak again, the spotlight that was focused on her switching to that of a red color. Her expression switched to that of a more serious one, and she swept her arm across infront of her slowly, gesturing to the audience. “Tonight we will venture into the depths of the mind. Exploring its every corner. Its passion,” Silencieux hugged herself for a short moment, “Its hatred, its hopes, its dreams…but most importantly, its nightmares.”
With that cue word, another set of spotlights flashed to life, revealing in the ring below a group of beasts. They ranged from the furred to the scaled to the feathered, many of them the size of two large men, though all of them only being restrained by thick leather collars. However, despite these weak attempts to control them, they only appeared to be vicious. Many of them looked around the audience, as if studying them from their spots down on the floor. Silencieux gave another twisted grin, hearing a few fearful gasps in the audience. She held up a hand, as if to quell the audience members. “But do not judge the poor creatures, for how are they any different from our own souls?” She dropped her hand, gesturing to one of the creatures below her.
As if on command, the bear like creature rose up onto its hind legs, emitting an ear splitting roar, causing a number of audience members to shrink back in their seats. “They share our hatred.” Her other hand gestured to another creature, who seemed to be shying away from the audience, letting out a pathetic, but distorted screech. “And our fears.” Silencieux brought her hands back to her chest, balling them into fists. “And we share their beastly nature. Our lust, our greed, our very want for survival!”
The lights throughout the circus tent went out, leaving the area completely black. The single spotlight above Silencieux returned, though not as brightly as before, leaving dramatic shadows along the woman. “We at the Cirque du Noire invite you to search deep within yourself, and discover the beat within you.” She slipped something small and round from out of the cuff on her wrist. With a quick flip of her wrist she snapped it open, smoke bellowing out around her, concealing her. “So without further adieu, why don’t we begin?~” The lights once again began to rise amongst the performers on the floor, illuminating them so that could begin their act. Upon observation of the lowering platform one could see that Silencieux was no longer standing there, and was nowhere in sight.
