Mariel sat on her towel and soaked up the suns rays. AHHHH it was such a hot lovely day! The ice cream man was due to come any minute and the waves were not too high so she had been able to surf all afternoon under the guidance of her teacher and neighbor Mr.Kuttner. he was normally a grumpy old man but the day had worn hiim out and so now he sat slumped in his beach chair with his sunglasses low on his nose and his hawaiian shirt flapping in the breeze. he was definately out for a noon nap and those could last for HOURS! Mariel wondered what she could do. She wasnt allowed to surf without his guidance just yet and as such her board was kept as his foot rest to be sure of it. She sighed and got up wiping the sand from her furry tummy and headed towards the water. Maybe swimming or sandcastles would be fun for right now. At least it would be something to do before the ice cream man came.
She had on only her blue bikini and a gauzy wrap around her waist so she didnt want to go into the water but she began to walk up and down the coast seeing how far she could go while keeping her guardian in view just to stake out her possible fun territory. Maybe she could make this a good day, afterall the sun was shining the ocean was cold and there were tons of people at the beach. She should make a friend or something!

Plip plop...... plip plop...Such an abnormal sound coming from the beach scene... That is to say if one has never met a small baby bunny. But for one butler, the sounds were music to his ears. As the waves crashed and subsided every now and then, the additional plip plops were only evidence that he wasn't alone and the child was safe... well safe for now.
"Christinaaaa..." called out the deep velvet and yet almost soothing voice in an enchanting melodic tune. Plip plop... shuffle shuffle. Not wanting to be found by her guardian, she tried to hide behind an elaborate sand castle that he had built for her. Little did she know her plan was dreadful. Although she was small enough to crouch behind the sandy contraption, it was her long ears flapping against the wind that easily gave her away.
In her naivety, she had set herself up for a scare when the butler crept behind her so skillfully, lifted up one of her ears, and replied with a "Boo" as he jestfully smiled, showing a little fang.... Fangs? How odd for a mere butler... Maybe there was a little more to the butler after all.
Completely bugged eyed, she shrieked a sound that could equate to someone dying an ever so painful death. A sound known as the bunny scream of death that only occurs when 1.... a bunny is dying.... 2 a bunny is so scared that they might as well be dying. Flailing around she started to make a run away from her guardian only to trip and topple over quite a distance. Exaggeration much? Maybe.... but for such a little bunny, any distance over a yard is indeed a journey.

Mariel heard the scream and her ears flattened against her head as she turned to see what it was. That was not a happy sound at all! By the time she found the source all she could see was a small girl trip and a tallish man in a black suit heading towards her. Well that didnt look right at all. Never being one to back down from a challenge Mariel Ran as fast as she could and got to the little girl before the man in black did. "Hey, who are you! Dont come any closer!" Mariel narrowed her eyes as she closed the distance between her and the little girl. Mariel took on an offensive body posture she had dealt with angry surfer boys before and so even though she didnt have much weight to throw around (being lean and all) she knew how to throw around what she had. Tumbling classes didnt go to waste on her!
She mentally prepared herself for what the guy might do and kept a wary eye on him as she assesed the damage done to the little girl. She crouched over and noticed for the first time that the girl had super long ears...well thats odd...."Hey are you ok? She asked in a calm voice trying to get the girl to respond while practically snarling at the man in black. She was a mink afterall so she bared her teeth and hissed out of habit.

Raising a brow, the butler looked at the arrival girl with a petite, but muscular build. It seemed he was in a bit of trouble. After all, he didn't really look like guardian material. Dressed in formal black attire, even at the beach, his tailcoat flapped gently in the breeze as he bowed. "Well my name is Sebastian... and that there is Christina." Looking at the girl solemnly, he did as he was told and didn't come closer. After all agitating woman of all ages had to be dealt with on their grounds. Any other way often meant a huge headache, something he would rather avoid.
Working herself back to a kneeling position, the bunny pawed at her eyes, and frowned. She fell, and falling was like the greatest failure in any child's life. The world might as well have ended. Looking at the appearance of the other girl she raised an ear. "Kupo?" Rising from the ground, she plip plopped around the girl for a bit and wondered why she was angry. Looking where she was looking, she waved at her guardian. "Seba!" Yes... one moment Sebastian was a monster to her and the next, he was the thing she cared about most. Such a silly relationship.

Mariel shot the man in black a look that spoke volumes of her distrust in him when he gave both his name and the name of the little girl. He wasnt coming any closer so at least he was listening, that was always good. When Mariel turned back the little girl had already gotten up and said something funny sounding. "What?" mariel was about to ask what the little girl had said when she got up and circled her. Well this was new. mariel tried to keep an eye on the little girl and her tail swished away from the little girls feet before being stepped on. Then of course the little girl seemed to love her would be captor and Mariel was officially confused.
"ok ok Wait a second.....so Your Sebastian....and this is Christina...and your not trying to kidnap her?" It was one of the few times Mariel had to clarify her theories out loud. It just seemed necessary with a little girl like this. Either he was really good at kidnapping or he was her father...? She would ask about that later, afterall she didnt look anything like her mother either. Mariel got back up to her feet and looked up at the man, he was to calm for her taste. She didnt like it. She turned her attention to the girl but made sure to keep an eye on him. "Ok I need answers and no funny business!" Her tail swished to make her point and both ears trained on the man in black since the little girl looked just to young to be able to provide the answers mariel wanted.

Smirking at the silly mink girl, he shook his head slowly. "Nonsense - why would I kidnap what is already mine? Christina is with me..." he calmly stated. It was odd for him to state something was his. His possessions generally were in the realm of the clothes on his back and nothing more. Kneeling a bit, he beckoned the child to come over to him. While he could have further amused the mink with official documentation he always carried with him, he figured she wouldn't really understand it. After all she was still young, and documents are just pieces of paper to them.
With a thumb in her mouth, she blinked a few times as Sebastian was summoning her. While she didn't comprehend that he wanted her wander closer to him, she was intrigued by his hand gesture. Did it have something? Ohh! Maybe it was a carrot or something delicious. Her guardian always made such delicious things for her and she was definitely hungry. Plip, plop "Moop?" she replied and continued to plip plop her way, slowly, making stops every now and then as she remembered she wasn't alone. A fishy smelling girl was still around. Maybe she was here to take away the yummy food her "Seba" had. Oh heck no! She can't have it! With that thought pulsating in her head, she did something only bunnies did best. Bounce bounce! Plop! Nesting her way into Sebastian's arms, she opened her mouth wide and said, "Ah ah" and pointed to her teeth as she quickly proceeded to make biting noises. Victory was hers! In your face fishy smelling girl, she jeered as she look at the girl with a mischievous smug look.

Mariel gave the man in black...er Sebastian an odd look when he mentioned that Christina was his. "You cant OWN people." she said before she could stop herself...This guy was just getting on her last nerve and now she was rude. "Oh...Gah....now look what you made me DO!....sorry for being rude." she apologized in a huffy and kind of rude way. She hated being rude and tried to always be nice and polite but this whole situation was a little too close to frustrating for her tastes.
She was about to turn to the little girl for confirmation when the little thing bounced over to sebastian and into his arms. "Well I guess she is under your guardianship...." It was a shame the little girl didnt run away, Mariel half wanted to get this guy in trouble just because at this point. But wait was that a mischievous smile that the little girl gave her. Her suspicions once again aroused both ears flashed forward and locked on the two in front of her. maybe she was the one about to get kidnapped! She looked around quickly to see where she was and relaxed when she saw Mr.Kuttner just a few hundred feet away. He was still old and sleeping but she knew if she screamed he would put up a fight, not to mention she would too! She turned back to the two new people and stared at both of them quizically. The longer she was around them the more curious she was, they were just so strange. Frustrating yes...definately...but strange enough to keep her attention. The man had something weird about him that Mariel just couldnt put her finger on......
She unconsiously led her tail into her hands and started running her fingers through it. It was what she did to think and so her bushy tail sat there twitching like a cat as she decided what to say next...well there was one thing she was itching to ask and she might as well do it. "So christina has funny ears and bounces like a bunny.....is she a bunny like I'm a mink?" mariel in her mind was clear as day asking if the little girl was from D-Corp but the way she spoke sometimes tended to lose her message in translation.

For Sebastian, Mariel's yappering was just background sound. He didn't heed too much to her rudeness, actually he was completely un-phased by it. Rudeness was something he had grown quite accustom to consider who his last master was... But that story in itself is quite another matter. Coddling the bunny for a bit he looked at Mariel and smiled when he asked about her nature. "Why yes... she is a bunny like you are a mink" he replied in the manner of which she asked the question. "but between you and me... I don't think she really accepts the fact that she is one...." Shifting his eyes, he pointed to the girl currently chewing on her own long fuzzy ears. "That or she's hungry.... Guess it's time to put on some milk and cake. Would you like to join us?" he followed up with the question since it would be rude to just turn the mink away.
Turning her head, Christina was wondering why the fishy girl was still here. Was she still trying to steal her food? No.... her Seba wouldn't allow it would he? Chewing on her ears more rapidly she was also wondering what the hold up was. She signaled she was hungry.... So where was the food? They say patience is a virtue; It's just something the little bunny hasn't learned yet.

Mariel perked up at the offer of milk and cake. She had been intending to wait for the ice cream man but this sounded better, and looking at the way both of them were dressed...designer brands, new things,....she guessed this milk and cake would be good. "Sure I'll stay and eat some, as long as its not poison, if your trying to trick me I dont want any." Mariel made a stern face to make her point before breaking back into a smile "But if its really milk and cake then yes please." mariel swished her tail out of her arms and stared at the bunny chewing on her ears. "doesnt chewing on your ears hurt?" she asked the little girl. Mariels ears were not long enough to chew but she wondered what they would taste like after watching the child.
She suddenly remembered the part the man said about the little girl not knowing what she was and a knowing smile dawned on her face. "Oh its ok if she doesnt know what she is, I didnt know till I had to go to class, thats where they told me. moma just used to tell me I was a water something cause I liked to swim so much." mariel explained and looked again at the little girl. "So if she doesnt know she is a bunny she will when she gets old like me, and when she gets an egg it has to be something that wont eat her, so thats good." mariel let her mind wander for a second. OH she was about to get her dragon egg and she couldnt wait! She wondered if this guy even knew about that stuff. "You know she gets a dragon right?" Afterall mariel didnt know till she met an older boy with a dragon so she figured she might as well spread the good news!.

Sighing at the girl's imagination, he simply replied, "Yes it's really milk and tea, Miss.... I'm afraid I never got your name... As the girl went on and on and on.... Christina was wondering how to pacify her. In a way, she sort of reminded her of Sebastian when he goes off on wordy tangents.... Ah.... there we go... Leaning over while in Sebastian's arms, she stretched out her body as best she could and stuck her ear in the girl's mouth. All done.... hopefully with that the girl would shut up for a bit. Giggling a bit she wriggled around to make sure her ear wouldn't fall out due to her awkward position in the air.
"Oh dear.... sorry..." replied a rather confused butler. "She tends to do that when people talk too much... And dragons you say?" Pausing for a bit, he eyes flashed a bright red. He didn't know how he felt about dragons. Did dragons come in cute fuzzy cat sizes? No... they tended to be large and obnoxious like dogs. What a bother.... "Well that's.... interesting..." was the best statement he could come up with while looking at Christina. She was just so tiny.... a dragon.... really? For her? With the thoughts tracing in his mind as he knelt down and started to prepare their little picnic at the beach, he was definitely concerned about the idea.

Mariel was rather surprised to have her mouth full of fuzzy ear all of a sudden. Well she had to admit it was a rather effective technique since it really did stop her in her tracks. She took the oppertunity to suck on the ear and found that it didnt really taste like anything...kinda like sand at the moment actually so she nibbled to see if she could make the girl jump before just deciding she didnt like the taste of sand and opening her mouth wide enough so that the now wet ear would fall into her hand. She offered the ear back to the little girl with a smile. "Well I guess I should say thank you, now I know ears taste like sand!"
Mariel wondered what other kinds of surprises this little girl would bring up and she began to watch her with a wary eye. It seemed she had underestimated the kind of trouble little kids could get into, was she this much trouble as a kid. Mariel fiddled with her gauzy beach wrap but decided she could wash it if it got to dirty and opted to keep it on. She plopped down onto the sand and waited for the little girls next move, she was kinda fun to watch. "Yeah we all get dragons cause its part of our...er...just cause, but they are cool , the ones I have met are BIG and one of them looked like a fish!" mariel was of course talking about Vorel the Ice dragon and Tural the catfish dragon since they were the only ones she knew of but that just made them all the more impressive as she tried to get ebastian to see the importance of dragons!! DRAGONS!
"Oh, thats right, and my names Mariel, nice to meet chu." She was to busy watching the little bunny to extend her hand but she figured sebastian looked busy setting things up anyway.

Blah blah blah...., that was all Christina had heard from Mariel's mouth. Her attempts to pacify and quiet the fishy smelling girl had clearly failed. And to make things worse, the beast decided to chew on her ears! She wasn't food! Whatever.... maybe she will decide not to chew on her again once Sebastian had prepared the food.... or maybe.... just maybe she was angry at the fishy beast, she would refuse to let her have anything. Wiggling her toes a bit, she waited..... one plate.... two plate.... uh... what was after two? Tree? Thee Th.... reeee? Yeah that weird number. Impatient as always, she took all of the plates and hoarded them next to her. "Nyah!" she exclaimed and pointed at Mariel. "Nyah nyah nyah!" she kept repeating and pushed her hand away. She wasn't going to make it easy. Mariel had to earn her food.
Soon, Sebastian knelt right next to her and tried to explain the concept of sharing. "Now Christina.... we have a guest. And with guests, we must share what is ours with them to make them feel welcomed." Trying to ease his way into taking away a plate from the bunny, she proceeded to bite his gloved hand. Unflinching, Sebastian tapped her nose lightly and sighed. Om om om it was useless.... No matter her attempts to put him in place, Sebastian always won in the end. What? He win? No! Looking at the plates, she forced the plate with the smallest sliced cake onto his hand. After all, even little kids knew smaller meant.... not as good. Swishing her hair back, she shoo'd Sebastian away as if it was his honor that she even decided to give the cake up. Looks like the diva attitude is innate with this little bunny...

Mariel watched the little bunny with mounting interest even as the girl was rude to her. mariel had never met such a rude child and she wondered for a bit if it was breeding or how she was being raised. She would have asked in her younger years but now she was almost 7 and so she knew better. "Well she is a feisty one isnt she" Mariel said with a raised eyebrow when the little girl bit Sebastian. "Does she always bite?" It seemed to be a legitimate question at the moment. Mariels tail swooshed behind her in thought as she watched the little girl hoard the cake.
Mariel leaned towards the little girl "I wont take your cake if you dont want me to, even though its rude, BUT if you eat that much you'll be fat and fat bunnys cant hop." Mariel wondered how important hopping was to this little girl but seeing as how she was a bunny she figured it would be safe to assume hopping was a big deal. She didnt do much hopping herself but if she were a bunny she prabably would. She began to imagine the little bunny all chubby and fat and couldnt help a smile break out on her face. It was a rather cute picture. "YOu know, maybe I'll let you eat all that cake, you would look cute if you were fat, you could have chbby cheeks!." She giggled at the thought. She wondered if being fat would affect how the dragons trated her...woudl a dragon be more likely to eat a fat child? Her mind began to wander.
