Gillian Verde ● Maybel ✰ ● ● ● ● → Gillian strode resolutely towards the Pokecenter, Maybel's pokeball snugly attached to her waist. They had somehow stepped on the tail of a Rattata while sneaking through the high grass looking for Pidgeys to train against. It couldn't have been the tips of her boots, no. It had to be the heel that made the Rattata's temper flare and chase them like they were slices of delicious Miltank cheese.
Gillian had gotten away unscathed but Maybel....
Had been bitten on the leg! A mere scratch, yes, but it meant she wasn't in tip top shape and that just wouldn't do! Gillian would not allow Maybel to go out into battle unless she was in the best condition possible. No opponents were going to get any leg up on her if she had anything to do about it.
She strode purposely through the doors, intent on making a beeline towards Nurse Joy when another trainer caught her eye. She cocked her head in curiosity. Gillian could never resist the temptation and paused behind the pink haired trainer to take a peek. She bent her body to look beyond her back at the pokemon as they were released for the pokeballs.

Once he was free from his capsule, Jayse stretched languidly. He made a soft chiirrrring sound and padded around awkwardly in a circle in front of his Trainer's feet. Sure, he felt fine... all traces of a battle-gone-bad washed away by the dutiful Nurse Joy... but the ground. It was a strange feeling when pawpads met grass and not water.
He was happy to be out of his Pokeball though and as he watched the Bayleef and Cleffa pop free from theirs, the Vaporeon moved over to nudge happily against his Trainer's legs. Accepting her apology, as always. Quickly scooping Fufu up in her arms, Vixxie snuggled the Cleffa affectionately. And then peering down towards the ground, she smiled (albeit still a bit sad) at Jayse while he walked loops around her feet.
It seemed that no apology was needed, but she felt the need to do so just the same. "You guys deserve a treat, hmmm? You took an awful beating from those silly purple rodents..."
But as her Bayleef hopped about a bit on the grass, Vixxie noticed another Trainer moving past. And cocking her head as the girl stepped past, she stared back while the other Trainer eyed up her Pokemon.
Shrugging, Vixxie swiveled her body and forced away the inward frowning to offer a loud, cheerful greeting. "Hello there~!"

It wasn't that Eran was in need of the PokeCenter, or even interested in going near it that day.
But Dayo had other plans.
A brilliant display of pink zoomed through the streets, tail whipping from side to side in excitement as its trainer followed angrily behind, toting along three other others who had decided that hanging out in their balls was just too difficult to stand. Eran sighed, his lips drawn into a thin line as he readjusted Piper for the billionth time to keep the narcoleptic flareon from falling off of his shoulder, while a sunbathing chikorita latched placidly to his side bag, deciding that today was a good day to trust Eran not to accidentally knock her to the ground. And Bao... the mareep trotted alongside him, though it seemed almost as if the trainer and the sheep were trying to do a three legged race with the way the striped tail had laced so easily around Eran's leg, making him extremely careful in the way he walked that day.
The trip to the PokeCenter wasn't planned, it was simply Dayo's desired course. Stopping ever few meters or so, the Mew would wait for Eran to catch up before dashing away again, sometimes accenting the direction he wanted to go with pink bubbles that bounced along the ground and sometimes bounced him as he chirruped merrily to his group of followers. To him, this was just another thrill ride -- he knew that the strange, large building that Eran sometimes took them to was full of pokemon, all painted in strange, new colors for him to explore. How could anyone find that boring?
Dayo didn't bother to wait for Eran before twisting around the corner and zooming straight for the PokeCenter. There were more people there! And pretty, pretty pokemon to play with! And so, when a flash of brilliant blue caught in his eye, well... he just couldn't resist! Tumbling through the air like a wildly out of control bullet, Dayo landed on the Vaporeon with such a mixture of perfect aim and idiotic intent that Eran, who was close behind, gave out something akin to a sailor's curse. But Dayo was in no mood to listen, no, not yet! Wiggling a bit on the blue thing, the mew flopped off before rolling onto his stomach, tail curling over his head and twisting from side to side as he peered at Jayse, nose to nose, eye to eye. "'Lo." He chirruped, in the language that only they knew.
Vaguely aware that the mew that he didn't quite own but couldn't quite get rid of had found something new and shiny to play with, Eran ran a hand over his face and padded up to the two girls, both of which he was painfully unacquainted with, which made this whole situation a whole lot worse. "Sorry about him," He admitted, his steps careful and planned. He stopped a few feet away, the furry puff of warmth on his shoulder stirring. "Dayo is a bit... eccentric." Shaking his head, Eran shuffled his bag a bit, the chikorita so languidly settled on it leaping down to avoid certain jostling attempts. "... I'm Eran." Awkward as it was, it would have been even more uncomfortable if he hadn't introduced himself, right? "A pleasure."
He'd never been much of a social person anyways.

  Gillian Verde ● Maybel ✰ ● ● ● ● →
Gillian snapped out of her daze and blushed mightily at having been caught ogling in public. She straightened up, took a step back to place some comfortable space between the two of them. "I-I'm so sorry," she stammered. "I didn't mean to stare! I was just so curious..and well..." She floundered for a better explanation, but gave up, face still flaming. She wished she could just pull down her hat and shuffle away. But that would have been rude, and the trainer before her seemed like such a nice person.
At just that moment, Maybel had gotten tired of being in the pokeball and forced her way out of it to voice just how bored she was. With a pop, the pokeball flew open and the Mudkip hopped out. "I'm bored! I'm bored! I'm bored! Let's go back to the Pidgeys! I don't need to go to the Pok-," she yapped, heedless of Gillian's inability to understand her. "A Bayleef! And a Vaporeon! And a Cleffa! And a Chikorita!" She whirled around and around and saw more Pokemon. "And oh my Beedrill, a MEW!"
Forgetting just why she had come out in the first place, she bounded up to the other pokemon. "Hi! Hi! Hi! I'm Maybel! What's your name?"
If possible, Gillian's face flamed up even further but she resolutely pretended that Maybel was not making a nuisance of herself. She turned to Eran and the pink haired trainer, gave a smile and said, "Hello! I'm Gillian. Feel free to shorten my name however you please." She sincerely hoped that she hadn't given a bad impression. Her behavior tended to make her seem a bit rude - even though she didn't mean to!

Wide eyes. Wide, wide eyes. Eyes so wide they were almost completely pupil and very little iris and they stared, transfixed, on the pair peering back at him.
For a split second, Jayse thought the Rattatas had come back for round two. An entire army of them, with their gnawing teeth and whipping tails and beady eyes and how had they already pounced on him in an unforeseen ambush and -- oh, the Vaporeon bristled from tail to muzzle at the notion!
But the flash of pink he saw calmed him, though just barely, and his front paws curled in the grass below them. A Mew, eh? Not as bad as a herd of Rattata, but not by much...
"Hello," he replied in a friendly enough tone, his head nudging up against the weight of the Pokemon on top of it. It seemed, at least, that this Mew was more friendly than the one his Trainer owned. "Where did you come from?" But Jayse's question was quickly answered. Vixxie's attention turned away, briefly, from the other female Trainer to a male one instead. Her smile might have widened a bit, without her realizing it of course, and she slipped an arm out from underneath her Cleffa to offer a friendly wave.
"Hello there~!" she repeated. "Sorry about wha--..?"
Blinking quickly, Vixxie stared, amused, at the Mew rolling about in and around her Vaporeon's face. And relinquishing the wiggling Cleffa in her arms, who quickly took to chirping and bouncing around the Mudkip closeby, she bent down and giggled at her Vaporeon and his new found 'friend'.
"Oh, that's okay. He's adoo~oorable," she cooed towards the Mew, despite Jayse's.. flustered expression. "I have one too, they are a handful." Which was why Sanso was conveniently not present..
But her attention was back on the other girl soon enough and she straightened up. Introductions all around, she offered her own name. "I'm Vixxie." Beam. "It's nice to meet you, Gillian and Eran."

Dayo was thrilled. The strange, squishy Vaporeon was much like another he traveled with, and yet far cooler, both in terms of color and body temperature. Twisting his tail, the mew chirruped, paws eagerly playing with the delicate fins on Jayse's head. It was obnoxious, he knew, to play with someone before introducing himself. But Jayse was just so pretty and -- ooooh, what were those! Lifting up a bit, the mew peered backwards at the shiny finned tail, his blue eyes wide as he examined its length before tangling it with his own lofty pink tail. Fascinated, the mew watched as his own tail transformed half way into a replica, twisting and swaying along with the others. How cool ---
Oh, right! There was talking to be done!
Ears swiveling forward, the mew carelessly pawed at Jayse, beaming almost ridiculously so. "Hello, hello." He nudged his own head back down, nuzzling against the cool of the skin, so different from Piper's own. "Where did I come from? Where indeed! Did I come from an egg, or from a... from a..." Dayo twisted to peer upside down at the other, nose to nose. "I am a mystery I suppose! Where did you come from?"
Yes, his brain was about as big as tack, but hell, at least he knew how to be a brat.
Eran watched the pokemon interact with something close to fear that Dayo would somehow manage to light Jayse's tail on fire, though his attention was soon enough drawn to the two women. Gillian, was it? He turned to her first, dipping his head in easy acknowledgement. "Hello." He said, his tone level even though his emotions betrayed his smooth voice. "Where are you from?" He asked in about as amiable a tone as he could. After all, they were all travelers. For all he knew, she could be from thousands of miles away, some place that he had only ever heard of. Ignoring the idea that his conversationalist skills needed some improvement, he turned to Vixxie, twisting a stray strand of hair between his fingers. "I'm glad you think so. He seems to like the idea of compliments." Eran couldn't help but drawl, glancing at the mew that seemed to be adamantly ignoring him at that moment.
When the girl turned back to him, he raised a brow, though a slow smile curved over his lips. So this girl had some experience too, huh? "A handful is putting it lightly." He said with loose ease, shaking his head slightly. "They're too intelligent sometimes, and too curious at others. But thats what makes their breed, I suppose." Drawing in a breath, Eran glanced between the two girls, his cheeks lightly flushed. Well, what was he supposed to do now? Chatting wasn't exactly his strong point. "Vixxie, Gillian." Breathe, in and out, in and out. "Its nice to meet you both as well. Are you passing through?"
Dayo, too energetic for his own good and with a horrible attention span to boot, stared wide eyed as Maybel made her own appearance, mouth opening into a perfect 'o'. She was so cute, and bubbly! "'lo!" He chirruped, completely complacent and at ease with her flamboyant introductions. "I'm Dayo. Dayodayodayooo ~ " Laughing, the mew flicked his tail, still twined with Jayse's own, and grinned. "I dont know who this is --- who are you?" He grinned down at the Vaporeon his mouth twisting up into a toothy smile. This would be fun! He just hoped that Piper and Bao would join in too. After all, they needed to get out more!

  Gillian Verde ● Maybel ✰ ● ● ● ● →
"Dayo. Dayo. Dayo," pronounced Maybel. She so very loved to play with anything she could get her hands on. Even words and names. The more amusement she could get from a single activity the happier and more fun-filled day she had. And she was very determined to make everyday as interesting as possible. Spending a day with Dayo and the Vaporeon seemed to be a great way to achieve that goal. "Very very very nice to meet you! And you you you?" She turned to the Vaporeon Dayo was playing with. She twitched her tail fins as she rocked from side to side.
Mudkip! Kip kip! Mud! Mudkip! Mud mud mud? Gillian relaxed a little inside as it seemed Maybel was doing just fine and would be able to entertain herself for a little while. The little Mudkip seemed more like a puppy than anything else. She re-focused her attention on the conversation before her. She watched Eran as he spoke. Was he as nervous in front of strangers as she? During battles, she could spout just about anything and it would be okay. She had spoken those words in the heat of battle. But when it came regular conversation? Well, she couldn't quite yell and gesticulate like a maniac.
"Ah! I come from Mossdeep City in the Hoenn region! I suppose I am just passing through. Usually, Maybel over there," she jerked a thumb over her shoulder. "sees something she's interested in and takes off after it like a maniac. She really just drags me around wherever she wants. In fact, I haven't known our location since oh...somewhere in Sinnoh," she mused. Well, now that she thought about it, where were they exactly? In her search for a PokeCenter, she had simply looked for the bright red roof.
She put her hands behind her back to prevent herself from flailing her arms around. "Anyway, where are the both of you from?"

Tail rope. How interesting! Jayse's head craned from one side, to the other, and back again in an attempt to watch the Mew's tail and his own intertwine. The fins on his head flickered and tipped backwards in an attempt to free up his view, but with most of his gaze filled with Mew.. it was all in vain.
Still, he made an amused sort of chitter and flexed his own tail, prodding blindly at Dayo's with the mermaid-like fins. "It wasn't a question of your creation," he said, gently. "I meant to ask how did you end up on top of me?"
It didn't seem to matter much, though. His question fell on deaf ears, as it were. The next queries asked of him, the Vaporeon answered amicably. All while turning, very slowly, on his paws to face the barrage of questions asked by a different voice -- careful not to accidentally dislodge the Mew from atop himself.
"I'm Jayse," he answered simply, to both the Mew and the Mudkip's questioning. Then, thinking further, he lifted a front leg to gesture vaguely off to the side. "The Bayleef is Pita," though he could not see where she'd wandered off to. "And the Cleffa..--""Fufufufu~ Effa, fufufufu~!!" The Pokemon equivalent of a giggle erupted from the small Cleffa, who continually bounced in excited circles around and around Maybel. "Fufu!""--...is Fufu." Obviously."Sinnoh!!?!?" Both hands clapped together at chest height. "I'm from Sinnoh! Where did you visit when you were there, Gillian? I love visiting Floaroma Town myself, it's always so pretty there. But I'm originally from Hearthome City, did you visit there as well!? You know, I've never even seen what Snowpoint City looks like..."
Ah, and off Vixxie went, rambling incessantly. She was utterly oblivious to the rather obvious signs that, perhaps, Eran and Gillian weren't the best at making small-talk. But if they felt the need to, either one could have stayed quiet and Vixxie would have had a grand conversation all by herself!
"...and I've heard Jubilife is nice too, with the TV station and all." Finally bringing her motor-mouth closed for a brief moment, the pink-haired Trainer looked from the other girl, to the boy, and back again. She cleared her throat a bit, but still smiled brightly, and clapped her palms together another time or two.
"You both have such cuuu~uute Pokemon." What an abrupt subject change! "They seem to be making friends with mine." And at that, both of her eyes glazed over in listless, heart-shaped swirls. Such a ... special girl, Vixxie.
