There are many superstitions involving black cats. Did you know they're also the most un-adopted cat in humane shelters? sad

Type: Henge Sex: Female Catalyst: Black Cat

Flatsales have changed quite a bit at ML. Now, the rules go as such. To try for this lady, prepare yourself to relenquish 30k gold if you win! Secondly, you must come up with a character for her, which you will post here.
Don't write a novel. Keep it to one decently sized paragraph, and maybe some stats about her.
Be creative. Research. Come up with interesting abilities or character flaws for her. Just remember not to make a huge novel, but to give us a taste of your writing and creating ability.
At the end of the week, a group of contestants will be chosen, depending on how many people enter. Those contestants will be assigned a number, and then drawn from randomly for a winner.
That said, feel free to begin posting! You have one week from this moment to get your post in here. :3

Likes: Fish Dishes, milk, sleep, cute things, shopping for clothes, beauty products, tricks

When she fights: Strengths: Her magic, speed, and intelligence are strong. Weakness: Her strength, attack power, and defenses are weak
Un would like nothing to do but sleep in the sun and eat fish all day. She loves looking a cute things, making herself look pretty, and shopping for clothes. But what she likes to do more then anything else in the world is play tricks on those around her.
She loves to create trouble to anyone she doesn't like or anyone who she feels like causing trouble too, which others think she is unlucky.
But there is a bright side to Un, she can be helpful when she wants to...for the right price. Un thinks that everything is a business deal and that she can be motivated by the right price or anything that might benefit her.
It is rarely that she does anything for free but once in awhile she can, when she sees a rare act of kindness and good, she would help those for free but again, rarely.

Name: Iliad {i-lē-əd} Meaning:
A series of miseries or disastrous events. A series of exploits regarded as suitable for an epic. Username: Skypriestess Type: Henge Sex: Female Catalyst: Black Cat Likes: Shadowed areas, streetlamps, mice, high spaces, foxes, and incense Dislikes: Puddles, cleared out areas, forgotten things, rubbish When she fights: Strengths: Her agility and speed give her an edge, which along with her small size enables her to get past an opponents defenses and inflict many minor wounds which in time will wear them down. Her main weapon is her claws, both in henge and cat form. She does not use poison, or any means that she deems underhanded. She's very particular about winning on her own strength. Weakness: Although an asset, her size can also be used against her. When faced with an opponent she can't outrun or squirm away from, she is clearly at a disadvantage. This coupled with the weakness of her attacks and fragile defenses can spell great trouble for her in certain cases. Her main weakness to be exploited though, if an opponent can't get use her size against her would be her stomach, which, like most cats, is her most vulnerable point. House: - Iliad's claim to fame within this house is her acrobatic feats, which are done mostly for the enjoyment of others. Her lack of fear at any height, despite the fact that--lacking any flying or floating abilities-- any fall could lead to particularly painful injuries, has garnered respect from the others in her house.
Personality: Like most cats, Ili is fairly easy going, albeit a bit of a touch me not with most. She dislikes water and being picked up, yet adores baked fish and climbing up trees. She's a likable, if a little, forgive the pun, 'catty' at times. She can be fickle and a bit domineering, but in the end she ultimately means well. Unlike those of the Yomi house, she does not deem herself above associating with humans. After all, while still a cat it was the charity of a few well meaning ones that kept her alive in the winter. Without them, she would have never lived long enough to become a Henge. It is because of this that she now devotes her time to watching them to learn exactly why they do what they do, and occasionally helps out a needy soul who deserves it.
When not indulging in this pastime or making what she claims are witty remarks, Ili comes across as a quiet girl, though not necessarily shy. Rather, she seems to be listening, rather than hiding behind silence when her voice ceases to tumble out of her throat. She likes nothing more than to watch things, be they human or yoki. By doing such, she learned most of the skills--both social and physical--that she now possesses. When she first became a Henge, she acted as a cat because in her mind, she still was a cat. Through others, she learned how to walk on two legs and the art of speaking. By mimicking their actions, she found herself.
Unfortunately, she also learned the nature of pride, and of moving forward without looking. Her name alone should give hint to what this has gotten her into. While not her predominant personality, when this brash prideful nature comes out it has gotten her into trouble on numerous occasions. Whether its from sheer unwillingness to ask for help, or simply not thinking something through, this little kitty has ended up in several bad situations with only herself to blame and only her wits to get her out of.
Fun Facts: Iliad prefers to go by Ili {i-lē} She finds humans interesting mainly because they are unpredictable. While some run from her, others are intriqued and watch her. Its these humans she follows and sometimes mimics. This has earned her quite a bit of tasty fish in the past. Ili makes her home on the top of the Kokkuri house manor, only coming down to get out of the rain. Despite this, she still manages to keep exceptionally clean. Her greatest pride is her balancing abilities. One day, she will push herself just a little to far and have to learn a humbling lesson. While a cat, she secretly wished she was white. As a Henge, she's come to adore her darker coloring. Ili has never been in love. Not with human nor any others of her kind. She sometimes wonders if she even can. It's not that she's a prude, its just an emotion she has yet to come across She loves warmth, yet does not particularly like the sun. This has led to a tendency to curl up under lanterns or streetlamps. The above is not entirely honest. As a cat, she did love them for their warmth, but not just that. Ili feared disappearing into the dark, for her own coat melded far to easily with the shadows. The reflective glow she slept in allayed these fears and gave her hope that in the morning she'd still find herself there.

Username: Kuro-Mizuki
Name: Sorrel [a type of sour plant]. Type: Henge. Gender: Female. Catalyst: Black Cat.
Sorrel, aligning nicely with her name, is a bitter girl. She views the world as her personal playground, and views humans as beneath her. Having spent most of her time in the Yomi House, she sees nothing wrong with her views towards others. There is a manipulative side to her that comes out whenever Sorrel feels the need to get something. Every situation she tries to turn to her advantage. This does not always work, obviously, but she tries anyway. A fiercely determined individual, she prefers to do things on her own, without the help of others. Her body is weaker than most henge's are, and she does not have a great amount of strength. This makes her feel pathetic and weak, though she tries to hide this beneath sarcasm and disdain. Most of her strength lies within her abilities to defend herself, rather than go on the offensive. She is intelligent and quick witted, as well as agile.
Though she is generally in a displeased and unpleasant mood, Sorrel does have a softer side to her that she rarely shows. She is impressed by great strength and by those confident and proud enough to stand up to her. Dismissive of those whom she deems "weak," Sorrel puts on a very brusque and aloof manner when around others. There is a part of her that craves attention, desires contact with others, but there is also a part of her that feels that she does not deserve that. Inwardly she is always fighting with herself; one could argue that even she does not truly understand her own self.
Despite all this, Sorrel is still interested in humans and Obakemono alike. She will do simple little things, like secretly leaving a flower in front of someone's room, or cleaning up quietly and secretively, without anyone knowing, just so she can observe the reactions afterward. Then, whether towards another person or merely by herself, she will try to mimic these reactions. There is a part of her - the part that craves attention - that is very childlike, especially in this regard.
One of her favorite pastimes is flower collecting, followed closely by dancing, the former of which she is very good at, the latter of which she still struggles with somewhat. She prefers the cold to the heat, and becomes very lethargic and often nauseated when the weather is rainy or bad.

Name: Freyja ((What better in a black cat than a balance of love and death?)) Player Name: Face Your Demons House: Kokkuri; Freyja thinks humans are kind of fun, and so wild. She likes the way that they don't have much time to live, and how blind so many of them seem to the spirits beyond their world. After an experience in the human world, she will likely not leave her home again, though. In a way, it seems to be fear holding her back from going to the human world, because she has put her grieving on hold; it's a fear that's contrary to the Kokkuri value of courage, so Freyja is careful to make it sound like she just finds it boring to return to the human world.
Personality: Freyja is constantly on the move. Even when she has to stand still, her tail will constantly be curling and uncurling impatiently. She finds comfort in motion, and loves to explore places she really shouldn't be. She has tried (unsuccessfully) to sneak into the other houses before. Sometimes she seems like she would be better suited to Onibi, but she knows that she does not belong there; it's courage, not wisdom, Freyja salutes. At home, in the Kokkuri grounds, she becomes mellow and calm, comfortable in her surroundings. When she leaves, though, she definitely gets restless and wants to get into every kind of trouble possible. All the same, she seems to come out on top; there's no real crisis she hasn't escaped, yet.
In a fight: Freyja paints her nails and lets them grow long, in her shapeshifted humanoid form. She coats them with toxins that create welts or induce bleeding and other side effects, depending on the toxin and the amount left. Freyja is not very strong, and she doesn't go for a knock out. Freyja either has to team up with someone who has different skills, or incapacitate her opponent with toxins. She can quickly tire an opponent out, or frustrate them to no end, with her flips and tricks developed in parkour training.
Quirks: Sniffs everything, likes to tell new people what they smell like to her. Twitches her nose when she's irritated. Flicks her tail or curls it depending on her mood, seldom idle. Does not mind swimming, so long as she doesn't get her hair wet. She doesn't like being wet and cold for long after, though. Freyja is good luck, and humans with her often find change on the ground or manage to somehow catch the last bus, or get home just before the rain. Loves: Being scratched behind the ear. Kitten-shaped sweet biscuits with red beans. Dumplings of any kind, except for spinach. Paper planes. Mint grass. Hates: Staring. She finds it very impolite. Desires most: To fly. She sometimes feels like if she runs fast enough, vaults high enough, she'll be able to take off and find the one she loved. Talent: Parkour, in her humanoid form. In order to continue to leap and run the way she likes to when she is in her black cat form, Freyja has learned how to vault, flip and roll so that she can travel just the same in either form.
Her past: Freyja fell in love with a human, in her cat form. She used to follow him everywhere, though she refused to live with him. She slept on his porch, to try and keep him safe, but she was unable. To summarize, the human Freyja loved was murdered. Freyja couldn't get there fast enough, and she didn't even make it there to see him die. When she got there, it was just a body. The soul she had loved was gone. He was a strange match, while alive; he loved birds, and often told Freyja all about their structures, diets, types, personalities... he was fascinated by the mechanics of flight. Somehow, it made Freyja love him more. While he lived, he never knew she was a Henge. It was enough for her to watch over him in her cat form. She wishes still that she might have been brave enough to show him her other self, though.

Name: Sable + meaning "black" Applicant's Name: Illusei House: House of Kokkuri
She has been known by many names, but among those she knows well, she prefers Sable. It's simple, understated, and fitting; it rolls off the tongue - smooth and subtle, seductive when she wants it to be, tame when she doesn't. She's an old cat; she's seen much of the world and much of its times, and she enjoy meddling in its affairs - not just spirit affairs, human affairs, too. She loves that some humans are afraid of her, others reverent. She likes being feared and respected, and more than anything, she likes attention. Perhaps, that is why she also likes the name Fortuna; she likes the idea of being in control of others' fortunes and lives. Sometimes, she even goes out of her ways to encourage superstitions or create them; which ones were her doing, however, she will never tell.
She likes humans - as much as Sable could like anyone. She thinks they are interesting, more interesting than most spirits are - motivated by petty emotions like fear and greed and love. They're so easily manipulated, so easily led astray; they are Sable's favorite form of entertainment. Sometimes, she helps people get what they want - for a price. Sometimes, she purposely wrecks havoc. Revenge is her favorite game. Because Sable isn't easily moved or attached, she has little to no conscience and has no trouble doing others' dirty work if she thinks it's worth her time. At the same time, however, she's an extremely prideful creature. She makes sure those she works for understands she's doing them a favor, not just being their servant - and she always extracts a heavy price. She enjoys it, however - the thrill of the hunt. She's rumored to be many famous cats in history - Rutterkin, for example, the cat that helped the mistress of the Earl of Rutland kill his wife's sons and render the wife barren.
Sometimes, she does get rather fond of a person - mainly gorgeous (Sable can be extremely shallow) or especially entertaining individuals. Those she is fond of she is willing to be quite generous with. In the end, however, Sable has only truly loved two. Sable is fairly promiscuous and is attracted to both men and women. She doesn't like to discriminate, as she likes to say. Her greatest weakness is her love of the beautiful and the expensive. She's also extremely vengeful, narcissistic, and materialistic, although she can also be extremely wise and worldly - having seen and experienced much of what the world has to offer.
What she lacks in mystical powers she makes up for with her intellect. She is especially good at lying; she considers it her art her ability to weave images and masks for herself with her words. She is also very skilled with weapons and poisons and has impeccable aim. In addition, she has an ability to be nearly invisible; she blends in with the shadows easily.
As a whole, Sable doesn't consider herself evil; instead, she searches endless for entertainment. She does and helps what amuses her; she just happens to have a rather twisted sense of humor.
