Shikai . . . ]裂ける - (Sakere, Burst) When released, Ohzutsuzaru snaps forwards and straightens, then takes the form of a large staff-weapon roughly seven and a half feet in length, with the bottom five feet being a long shaft of solid 'bamboo', and the top two and a half feet being a wrought 'iron' slender cannon. This weapon is wielded like a staff, but has a function where Saru can send his reiatsu to a certain location on the weapon, causing a spark, and firing a compressed ball of reiatsu at someone.
砲声 - (Hōsei, Roar of a Cannon) The basic ability of shikai is to release slightly-larger than fist-sized balls of compressed energy from the cannon end of Ohzutsuzaru, which explode on impact, much like a grenade. These cannon balls may also be made smaller, while keeping the same density, and fired in a 'grapeshot' fashion, where you have forty small balls instead of a single large ball. The small balls move much faster, and are capable of causing piercing damage. The speed of a large ball from shikai is 140 MPS (meters per second), or essentially 420 FPS. The speed of smaller balls is double that. [x . . .
