'Kay, so I've found out that the bottom of my bra is too big and it just hangs there instead of being on my ribcage. I know everyone is just gonna say to get a smaller one but it's REALLY embarrasing to ask her. I know it sounds stupid but it's true. I've been thinking of making the bottom of the bra smaller myself by cutting an inch of the cloth at the bottom then throwing that inch or two piece away and sewing the rest of it together but I don't know how to sew (I'm looking up ways to sew on google). :S What should I do?

Honestly there are going to be many MUCH more embarrassing things you will have to discuss in the future so I think it would be best to bite the bullet and ask to get a new one. Ask at the store to be measured. They take you into one of the changing rooms then measure over top of your t-shirt so it's not as scary as it seems. If you are between sizes then it's usually smart to go with the smaller one because it's likely that it will stretch out as you use it. Good luck

Honestly there isn't an easy way to measure yourself since you have to make sure everything is level. And they won't touch you at all, the only thing that will touch you is the measuring tape. And keep in mind that these people do it all the time and probably won't remember you two minutes after you have left. Think of it as practise before the uncomfort of the pap smear.

Chalda gave great advice. It may seem uncomfortable and "embarassing" to you, but you need to have a proper fitting bra. It takes less than a minute, they don't touch you, they just use a tape measure. There are MANY stores that do the measurements such as Victoria's Secret and some department stores such as JC Penny in the intimates department.
Measuring it yourself is not going to be accurate and having a proper fitting bra is essential for comfort. Besides, as you grow and as you develop even as an adult, it's going to change and you're going to have to get resized through the years. You really need to ask for a new one, this is a minor embarassment.

Talk to her, explain to her that it's too big, and ask her to go shopping with you to buy you a new one. It's really not that big a deal, and shouldn't be too embarassing. It's just a bra.

Oh sweetie, just get a new bra and save yourself the trouble and discomfort of messing that up. It may be embarrassing to ask first, but isn't that better then a bra that doesn't fit?
Hehe, and as Niko said, it's just a bra; we all wear them, we've all had the wrong size. According to recent statistics about 85% of women wear the wrong bra size and in general they get the band way too big and the cup too small. So go in for a fitting and get one that works well. Measuring yourself really is tricky, so I wouldn't recommend that either, it's darn near impossible to keep it level and get the correct areas measured.

My bras always stretch and get too big on me. You should consider getting a new bra, but a quick fix would be to pin the straps if it's just a little too loose. It works like a charm!

It's not really good for you to wear the wrong size...

All good advice going here biggrin
Honestly, you gotta get used to stuff like this. What are you going to do when you have to start going to see a gynecologist? What about buying your own tampons/pads? Unfortunatly, this is just stuff you need to learn to be comfortable with. Take comfort in the fact that 50% of this world has to go through it (or at least something similar).

who is the her your talking about...if its your mom or sister or relative like that then im pretty sure she wont care...shes probly gone through it herself...and believe me once you get measured by your own mom in the fabric depertment (where the mesuring tapes are) in wal-mart then you'll know embarassment...in the future their will be a lot more things that you will think is a lot more embarassing

Its not really good to wear a bra thats really big. I suggest you go to the store and ask to get a smaller one. is there fitting rooms there? well if so then you can ask if you can fit it there. it may be able to work though.
