" ...Um..Guys? What is that?....Why does it look similar to your ship? " Lily blinked, handing Cardiff the golden spyglass to look through, no one was up on the crows nest, then again they weren't expecting any surprises. There were little ships at sea, at least not old ships like theirs.Cardiff had seemed to froze a moment, before suddenly lowering the spyglass down, slamming it closed. "Raise the anchors, quickly! We've got company! " And by the frantic tone in his voice, it wasn't a good kind. The ship that was now quickly sailing and gaining speed on them seemed to be crawling with armed men, far more then what was on Cardiff's own ship, if they managed to board, The Captain would quickly become out numbered,as well as the rest of the crew. "Lily, get back! Go down below, and lock the doors..Don't let ANYONE in." He said firmly, before handing out something she had never touched before,a pistol.And not a powder filled one. His luck in being in this world had gained him a few newer weapons. "Take this, just in case. These are pirates,Lily. True pirates of the worst kind. Please do not come out.." Pushing her away lightly toward the doorway, he had hoped none on the other ship had seen her. Old pirates tale, a women on the ship was bad luck. But, these men were true pirates, the ones that killed, did did many other things he would not mention. But he was dang well going to be sure that DIDN'T happen. "Shadow! Go with her.The men and I will hold up here. " He practically demanded his son to go below, his reasoning to protect her, as well as him.
After Shadow had pulled Lily out of harms way as they had hoped, the attempts of hosting the anchor in time had failed, as the other ship of a dark, evil aura had come right up along side of the Cardiff Rose, and thus, the battle began as the pirates began to jump ship into the Rose, others placing boards to get across easier.Lily would now experience her first true sights on what pirates -really- were. It was not fun, happy treasure hunting as she had seen it to be.
