|Journal Entry| - "Nostalgia..." February o5th, 2oo6 Dear Diary,
It's been mere weeks since I first arrived in gaia and met my current host, Roth Keahi. I stumbled into town with nothing but the clothes on my back and a sheet of paper in my pants pocket. No memories, no recollection of who I was or where I came from. Roth took me in, no questions asked, and began to help me rebuild my past, and consequently, my life.
In the past 18 days our lives have changed faster than I ever thought possible. Roth and I have become best friends and I've aqquired a part-time job at a local candle shop. Roth suggested we take in a child to help foster the strength of my memories and to help keep my mind off the stress. We're now waiting for an adopted child to arrive from the Maban Mabwysiad agendy, and we've moved from Roth's small apartment into a beautiful home on the forest's edge. I'm learning to love life one day at a time. I've still not been able to regain any memories of my past, and slowly my drive to remember is fading away. I sometimes wonder about the fate that brought me here. Everything seems to fall right into place.
I'm beginning to think that perhaps i'm not meant to ever recall what happened before I arrived here in gaia.
This house is so cozy, so warm. It already feels like home, and we've barely finished unpacking yet. The kitchen is a marvel, and is slowly becoming my favorite room of the house. It surprises me to find out that I can cook (and rather decently at that) without remembering any prior instruction. The rest of the house is coming together day by day, and we've almost got everything for the new baby's nursery. All we have to do, is wait.
I feel strangely nostalgic, but I just can't put my finger on why...

|Roleplay Session| - "The Gift..."Participants: Audespero Roth KeahiFebruary o6th, 2oo6 It had been a hard day at work, and Aude had languished in the shower under the warm water for over an hour. She shook the water from her hair and turned the water off and stepped out onto the bathmat.
She picked up the last bit of her dirty clothes off the bathroom floor and tossed them into the hamper. Wrapping a towel around her body, she opened the bathroom door and stepped out into the bedroom. A small current of cold air pricked her skin, and she shivered a slight bit.
She fought back a yawn. "Clean and ready to finish day." she mused to herself, letting the towel come unclasped as she rubbed her pale skin dry. After a quick towel-tousling of her hair, the towel was hung back on it's hook in the bathroom and she quickly dressed herself.
"Aude," called a voice from the living room. "You out of the shower now?"
"Yeah, i'm finished!" Aude replied. "I'll be out in just a moment..." She tossed her hair up into a makeshift bun and left the bedroom.
Roth smiled as Aude came into sight. "You in the mood to unpack a few more things? I know you had to work a little longer today, but I thought we could finish setting up the nursery today... The crib finally arrived."
Aude's face lit up. "It's finally here?" A broad smile consumed most of her face.
"Just arrived early this afternoon. I put most of it together and brought the rest of the furniture in, but I couldn't find the box of bedding you bought." Roth chuckled to himself. He loved seeing her happy.
Aude thought for a moment. In all of the excitement, her brain was running a mile per minute. "Oh! I remember, I put the box down in the cellar with the rest of the baby things we bought. We didn't have room upstairs with all the other boxes, and I didn't think we'd need it for a while. I'll go ge---"
Roth cut her off. "Don't worry about it just yet. I have a surprise I want to show you. It's in the nursery, go take a look."
The look on Aude's face was priceless. She zoomed into the nursery as fast as she could, her sock covered feet slipping on the hallway's tile flooring. As she rounded the corner, through the nursery's doorway, she closed her eyes and scootched to a stop. One deep breath. Then another. Then she opened her eyes.
There in the nursery, sat an antique cherry wood rocking chair. Aude gasped. It's back was covered in intricate carvings and it was cushioned in cream colored satin. A handmade white satin baby blanket was draped over the left arm, finely embroided and edged in blue ribbon. Roth entered the room behind Aude and scanned her face for emotion. A single tear fell down her cheek as she turned to look him in the eye.
"Oh Roth..." she whispered. "It's so perfect... Everything is just so wonderful. So perfect." Aude moved forward into the room, and picked up the blanket. She pressed it to her cheek and sat down in the chair. Oh Roth... It's so absolutely wonderful... Thank you... Thank you so much..."
Aude began to gently rock the chair, back and forth. She held the blanket close and closed her eyes. Soon, she had fallen asleep. Roth just smiled as he looked at her. "No..." he whispered. "Thank you... Aude..." Roth tugged at the corners of the baby blanket, helping to spread it out over Aude's lap, enough to keep her warm as she dozed. He kissed her forehead. "Don't worry... We can finish setting up later, when you wake up from your nap."

|Roleplaying Session| - "Meeting Donovan..." Location: Feien HQ Link: [x]
Participants: Audespero Donovan Ruby SohoFebruary o7, 2996 Soho fluttered into the shop, looking oddly alone for her. Neither Silva or Aleric were with her, for the first time in... well, since the little cupcake incident. She wasn't sure she liked being so alone, actually. It was... lonely.
But Silva was out hunting and Aleric was somewhere off learning to play his flute again. And Ice and the others were still obsessed with that darn baby and his metal thingy. The little red and black feien sighed, much put-upon by that fact. Dee had sworn she was still adorable, and that helped somewhat, but she wasn't getting the attention that she was used to! Not even from Nick and Nack!
So here she was at the shop, needing attention. Because she obviously wasn't going to get it at home! Stupid baby. Cute... yes, but stupid nonetheless!
A brunette woman in her early to mid-twenties shuffled into the shop, looking around with a faint sence of urgency. Her left hand clasped something close to her chest and a peice of paper crinkled in the grasp of her right.
"H-h-hell-ello?" she stammered, looking down at the precious contents of her cupped hand. After a moment of waiting for an answer, she returned her concerened gazes back around the perimeter of the main room. She unfolded the peice of crumbled paper and scanned over it a few more times.
"This has to be the place. Isn't it? Oh please just let this be the right place..." She continued to mumble softly, as if speaking to whatever resided behind the shield of her dainty fingers.
"Hi!" Soho said cheerfully, waving her arms over her head to get the big person's attention. "I'm Soho! Who are you?" She asked with a wide smile.
Slightly startled, the young woman perked her ears up and shot a glance in the perky voice's direction. She squinted a tad, seeing smears of bright red against black.
"Could it be? Another one of his kind?" She took a few steps closer, her eyes struggling to focus on the mess of waving colors.
"I'm not exactly too sure who I am, so why don't we start with him..." Squeezing in a bit closer to the small feien creature, she brought her hand down, away from her chest, and uncupped her fingers. Glints of silverish-white and black peeked out as light slowly flooded her palm.
There lay a mysterious feien with dull, raven-black hair covering the majority of his back. His leather hair-tie had worn out from time and moisture, and his hair was ratty and unkempt. His poor wings were nearly falling apart. His exposed skin beyond his markings was pale and dotted with sores.
"Do you know who he is? All I had was this address to go on..." The lady held up the small peice of scrap paper. "Did I come to the right place? Can you help him?"
"Well, no, I've never met him... but I know WHAT he is!" Soho said, moving forward. "He's cute! And a feien, like me!" She said, nodding as if that were obvious. "We come from flowers and have bonds and come in different sizes and colors and wing types... I'm just a juvenile, my bonddaddies are much bigger than I am!"
She paused. "Are you his bond?"
"Bond...?" She looked confused. She wasn't even about try to spit the Fe--fei--en--en word out.
"I found him in a box in our cellar of our new house... I didn't really know what to do with him, and the address on this scrap of paper was all I had to go on. Is a bond like his family or a host or something? Doesn't he have someone that was waiting here for him to arrive in the mail?" She didn't quite understand the concept of a "bond". It seemed almost as if she believed he just magically found his way into their cellar and was supposed to "journey" somewhere else.
"Waiting for him?" She asked, completely confused. "I don't think so. I mean, my bond works here and she didn't say anything about something like that..." She was getting worried. "A bond is the big person that a feien lives with. And without a bond the feien could... Oh, you've GOT to be his bond! Please be his bond! I'd take him home with me, but Ice already has three feien and a new baby and a new metal thingy and--" She clasped her hands together, pleading.
"You can't let a cute feien die!!" She finally said.
The woman's eyes nearly crossed as she attempted to follow the pace of the red and black feien's verbal thoughts. "So you mean he doens't have anyone waiting for him to arrive? I don't quite understand... I just assumed that... Well... I assumed that um..." Her gaze trailed down at the feien lying in the palm of her hand. He looked so fragile, and yet so completely beautiful at the same time. "I don't understand any of this. I don't even understand what he is, or why he was in my cellar..."
As her eyes met back with Soho's, she could see the feien was visibly shaken. "Why is this all such a big deal? I'm sure he's got someone for him somewhere. He can't just, be alone, can he? I mean, surely, someone's looking for him... Maybe the old resident of the house just accidentally left him behind. They could come back soon... I'll just leave him here with you."
"But I can't!" Soho said. "I can't be his bond and my bond can't take care of him! He won't be too much trouble, I promise! Feien are small and don't eat much, and they're good for talking to and listening to music with and--" She paused. "Won't you at least try?" She dropped down, heading for the feien and landing on the woman's hand to kneel over the other feien.
"Mister? Mister, can you speak?" She asked, poking him.
Aude flinched a bit at the soft tickling of the feien's feet upon her skin. She watched in abaited wonder, part of her silently willing the injured feien to atleast acknowledge the other and possibly give some insight to the situation.
The feien's wings jingled slightly as a few of his fingers twitched in Soho's direction. Soft crackling noises were an instant sign that his condition had progressed past only a few days of being bondless. It was all too clear that his bond had been missing a long time. He exhaled slowly and his eyes opened a slit. Everything was a blur.
"Mister?" She repeated again, shaking his shoulder. "Come on, mister, you got to wake up..." She didn't know what to do. "Mister Silva Demon might be able to help... but--" Silva was hunting.
Oh how she wished she hadn't come all by herself! "Please, lady, you have to say he's your feien!" She finally said, close to tears. "If he doesn't have a bond, he'll die!" She was certain of that for some reason.
"But he's not mine," Aude insisted. "I've never seen him before. I just found him in the cellar of my new house. I can't just take something that doesn't belong to me. Besides, I don't even understand what the heck he (or you for that matter) is! How would I take care of him anyways... He's better off here with people who know what to do. I have no clue at all."
She picked the male feien up gently and layed him out on the nearest flat surface. Then she proceeded to shoo Soho off her hand. It wasn't that she was cold and careless, far from it. She just honestly couldn't take on the responsibility of something, or someone, that wasn't hers. It just didn't feel right. Besides, the discovery of this creature in the cellar, and the surreal events at this shop so far, had made her exceedingly more aware of the fact that she had absolutely NO idea what was going on here.
"But you can't--but he--" She took a deep, shuddering breath. "Can you at least tell me where you live?" She finally asked. This was so far beyond her experience...
Aude looked down at the teeny inquisitor. "Well, I suppose that would be alright, if atleast for the purposes of anyone wishing to inquire about his condition when I found him. Perhaps leaving some contact info, may in some way, help to link him to his rightful owner."
She flipped over the piece of paper that had the Feien HQ address on it, and took a pen out of her bag. A few quick pen-flicks and she was finished.
"There. It's 1592 Forest Edge Drive, right on the outskirts of Barton town." She folded the paper over, enough to make it manageable for the small feien, then handed it to her.
She felt sorry, as it was visible that this feien was troubled by the situation. "Look... I'm really sorry I can't help you out. I'm sure if you turn him over to the proper person, everything will be resolved."
"But... you are the proper person." Soho said sadly as she headed for the inert feien. What was she going to do? What? She would have to get Ice... or someone! Someone a lot bigger and older than her.
"I really don't think so. I mean, he must have someone out there, alone and worried sick over him. I don't see why anyone wouldn't be. He obviously belongs to someone.
She cast a concerned look over the pair. "I'm really sorry... I wish him the best. Thank you for relaying him to the proper people. I'm sure he'll thank you for it when he's able."
And with that, Aude turned on her heels and headed for the door with a conflicted sigh. Her heart strings tugged at her emotions as she forced herself to walk out. That little feien's appeals must have had some effect, no matter how small. She visibly fought back the urge to turn around for one final glance and instead, pushed herself through the doorway. In moments, she was gone, on her way back to her home.

|Roleplay Session| - "A bond for Donovan..." Location: Aude's front foyer. Link: [x]
Participants: Audespero Donovan Ice Queen Aleric Ruby SohoFebruary o8, 2oo6 Ice stepped up to the door of the woman whom Soho had told her about. She had a headache, an almost dead feien in her hand, and two feien sitting on her shoulders. Lord she hoped this worked.
"Push the button!" Soho said, getting off of Ice's shoulder and pushing it before Ice could do as she said.
Aude tucked the last corner of the blankets into the baby's crib and smiled. Bending over, she took the last item out of the "Baby's room" box; a small courderoy bear. She set it down at the head of the crib just as the doorbell rang.
"Just a moment!" she called out in a sing-song tone. A few quick paces landed her out in the hall, and eventually at the front foyer. Her small hands reached for the door, the latch audibly popped open, and she pulled the door towards her. The image on the other door was somewhat surprising.
Aude blinked at the woman, then realized the two feien on her shoulders and the somewhat more familiar feien in her hands. "Hello." Her flat expression morphed into a faint tone of concern. "I suppose you've come here from that address I visited yesterday. Is he doing any better?" Her eyes scanned the weak feien's skin for signs of improvement, and yet she found none. "I'll tell you anything I can remember from the other day. I hope it can help."
"I hope you can help, too." Ice said. "Can we come in? My name is Ice, these are two of my feien, Aleric--" Aleric nodded at this. "And Ruby Soho." She said. "I believe you've met her?"
"Yep, that's the lady!" Soho said.
Aude chuckled slightly at Soho's enthusiasm. "Yes, we've made eachother's aqquaintance. I was happy to find someone there who could deliver him to the proper person." As she got to the word "him", she promptly nodded in the injured feien's direction.
"I don't mean to seem inhospitable, but if you're here to thank me, there's really no need. I only did what was right, and that certainly doesn't merit a trip all the way here just to praise me for that. I would hope anyone else in the same situation would have done as I had."
Aude still stood in to door frame, the door slightly closed. She hoped she didn't seem rude.
"Actually..." Ice started out. "I'm not sure you understand." She hesitated. "This feien doesn't have someone he's going to. At least not that I know of. And I work at the feien shop. And without a bond--a gaian willing to share their life and energy with the feien, he's going to die. So basically, by leaving him at the shop you didn't help him." She said. "At all."
Aude's face went blank. "W-what?" Her head felt light at the thought. She had no intentions of harming him.
"W-well... I mean... I-I-I... I assumed that..." She couldn't find the words to say much of anything. She heaved a deep breath, looking down at the feien.
"I didn't know what else to do. You try finding some strange creature in your cellar. At least he had an address. I did what any decent person would do if they had found a name on something..." All of this talk of bonds and feiens was slightly overwhelming. She still had no idea what any of it meant. Aude just assumed that this "thing" had a home there. How or why he was in her cellar hadn't even been thought of.
"True." Ice said with a sigh. "Most likely his last bond abandoned him when he or she moved. And that means he needs a new..." She stopped, trying to think of what word would make sense. "Owner? Mother? Friend? It's kind of all those things I guess."
"Ice?" Aleric said, making Ice glance over. "Perhaps you should explain how to take care of a feien."
"Half of the time you take care of me, Aleric." Ice said, blinking. Then she looked over at Aude. "You see, feien are like... little people that can take care of themselves to a large degree. They just need to share a home with a human. It's not like a baby or anything."
Aude blinked a few times. It was beginning to make sense. "So perhaps the last owner just left him here?" This probably wouldn't go in the direction Ice or Aleric, or even Soho hoped for that matter. "Well then, maybe I can contact the real estate agent and find out who it was or where they went. Then everything would be alright. It would probably just take a few moments, or days atleast."
Aude stepped back from the door a bit and looked around for the phone in order to call the agent.
"In a few days he could be dead." Ice said bluntly. "And if they abandoned him once they could easily abandon him again." She went on. She was getting irritated. "To give him back to someone that left him in an attic is a form of abuse if you ask me. He's not a toy, he's a living being."
Aude abandoned her search for the phone. "I don't understand what you're asking of me. I've done all I can to help the situation. Can't you just find him a new bond at your headquarters then?"
Ice looked at her for a moment, wondering just how to put this politely. "Well..." She said slowly. "We were hoping that you might be his bond."
"Right!" Soho said.
"I'm afraid we can't share our own bond." Aleric said. "Three feien in one household is plenty."
Aude placed herself back in the doorframe, looking down at the feien she had found. He had been so weak. So sickly. And still, he lay there in Ice's hands, barely moving. "I... I don't..." she stammered. A tear almost came to her eyes. "I'd have no clue what to do for him. I still don't even understand what he is... I mean. How would I take care of him? What does he need? I don't undertand his life, and I certainly don't understand any of this whole ordeal. How could I possibly make a difference in his condition?"
She felt horrible admitting that she had NO clue what to do. She wanted to help in any way possible, but just thinking of taking him in scared her. What if he didn't get better. What if she screwed up somehow and he died...
"By becoming his bondmate you will save him." Aleric said calmly. When focused he was more logically driven than Ice, even though he picked up on the mixed emotions that the woman was giving off. "As a juvenile he will need a place to sleep, food, but not much, and attention. As an adult he will eat more, but still not enough to be considered a problem. He will learn magic with time and practice."
"And he'll make friends and listen to music and decide what he likes and doesn't like!" Soho said with a nod.
"I'm sure that he'll recover after you become his bond." Ice said calmly. "Feien never get sick, after all." Unless it was mental, but she wasn't about to mention that.
"Can I do that? Is it even possible? I mean, didn't you already say he had somebody?"
Aude looked at Ice, with seemingly thousands of questions in her eyes.
"By what you've told me and the looks of him now... he doesn't have anyone now." Ice said. "And that's what matters."
"Of course you can do it!" Soho said. "Feien are fun to have!"
"And if you have any questions you can go to the shop." Ice finished. "There's information there, as well as people willing to answer your questions. I'm not the only one that works there, after all."
"So..." Aleric asked hesitantly. "Will you be his bond?"
Aude's heart jumped in her chest. She wanted to help him, though she'd been trying her best to stay distant and objective. The truth was, when she first found him in the cellar her heart caved just a little at the sight of his condition. She thought taking him to the center was his best chance for survival. It seemed almost ironic to her that now, she was his best chance.
"You're sure it's alright?" she asked, her serious face cracking a relieved smile.
"Absolutely positive." Ice replied. A good bond was hard to find, and as hard as this one had fought to do the right thing (even though it wasn't the right thing, really) she would fight to make sure her feien was well taken care of. "I'll just need your name and the information you gave Soho, so I can report it to the shop." She finished.
"Oh good!" Soho said, jumping to her feet. "I want to see him when he's feeling better!"
Aleric smiled, relaxing.
Aude blushed a teeny bit. "Forgive me for being so rude and not introducing myself. I suppose we got caught up in all this and I--" She cut herself off. "Eh, no matter..."
She extended a hand to Ice and a smile broke completely loose. "I'm Audespero. I don't really have a last name or anything. It's kinda complicated, so that's a story for another day. But pretty much anyone who knows me will know who you're speaking of when you ask for "Aude"."
She paused to gather her words. "If it's really what's best for him..." She glanced down at him, still very much concerned. "Then i'll definatley take him in."
The feien's mouth parted, and a raspy tone escaped. "I'm.... glad..." He slowly sat up and braced himself half-assedly, propping a weak arm behind himself. His balance waivered.
Soho squealed as Ice shook the hand. "He's getting better already!" She said, hopping up and down on Ice's shoulder. "Now you need to get lots of rest and brush your hair and--"
"Soho." Aleric said, trying to hide his amusement. "Perhaps we should leave them to get to know each other better."
"Oooh... good point." Soho said.
"Aude-Spero..." Ice repeated as she pulled out a pen and jotted it down on the note. "Aleric's right, though." She said. "Perhaps you two should get to know each other now. Figure out where he'll be sleeping... what his name is..." Aude reached her hand out for the feien, shaking slightly with excitment and a tad of nervousness.
Ice handed him over with a knowing smile. "It gets easier with time." She said softly. "Soon you'll forget that there was a time when he wasn't there."
Aude felt a slight spark of---well, something---as soon as Donovan's body slightly weighted her hand. Either way, it just felt better knowing that everything was all figured out, and that he would hopefully be alright.
The feien looked up at Aude. His sight was so blurry that she was just barely an outline of messy shapes and colors. "Thank you for accepting me..." His voice cracked several times on each word and he leaned back into her palm.
"Yeah." Ice said with a smile. "We'll leave you two alone for now."
"Bye, mister!" Soho called with a wave.
"And thank you." Aleric added to Aude. "Each bonded feien brings a better chance at the survival of our race." He said as Ice turned to walk away.
"Goodbye!" Aude chimed as she waved them off.
Donovan looked at Soho and the others, his mouth parting but no sound escaped. He mouthed "Thank-you" and curled back up in Aude's palm.

|Roleplay Session| - "A visit to the HQ..." Location: Aude's Home/Airport.
Participants: Audespero DonovanFebruary o8, 2oo6 Aude made her way in to the main room of Feien HQ. She almost felt like an intruder, having been gone so long. She barely had a chance to get to know other guardians before her Fiance, Roth Keahi has whisked her away on vacation to focus on restoring her memories. Part of her was glad for the break, and yet part of her was paranoid about her absence.
As she entered the HQ, she was left wondering... Will anyone remember me? Will anyone remember the feien that had been placed in my care nearly six months ago?
Donovan had been fine of course, getting stronger and healthier every step of the way, what with a new bond and all to support him. And just as Aude was searching for her past, Donovan had begun searching for his. He yearned to know why he had been left behind, and burned with an inner passion to find out what had happened to his first bond...
Aude took one look around the room to determine if anyone was, or had been, here. Donovan peeked up out of her bag, climbed out and scaled his tiny body up the strap. He plunked himself down on her shoulder, just as curious as Aude about whether or not anyone was here.
