Year Round School Against By Alex
I'm sure most of you agree that we should ALL be able to go to the water park during Summer Break. I also think that we should all be able to do Detasseling in the summertime. I have a large desire to go on long vacations to other states... Year Round School? Are you KIDDING ME? This is one of the lamest and craziest ideas I have ever heard...it's complete and total MADNESS!!! Plus, the school could lose more of their budget. It's just so STUPID! Kids wouldn't be able to do summer activities like the traditional school method would allow. You also wouldn't have enough time over breaks to hang out with your friends, as well as ruining your schedule. To begin, who likes summer activities? I'm talking about camping, swimming, and going on vacations to travel large distances, possibly even to different states or countries. Year Round School snatches all of that away from view...EXTREMELY bad idea! I mean, 9 whole weeks in school, and then only 3 weeks off? Who could even STAND that horrible schedule? I like it the way it is, and I am STRONGLY against this despicable idea. You would definitely not be able to go to water parks( such as Island Oasis) over the increasingly small breaks you would get, especially since the water park may not be getting as many customers, it may shut down completely, since it wouldn't have enough funds to run the park. Also, you would have to reschedule your camping times on your small breaks (which would really stink). I literally think that this is such a terrible and meaningless idea, that they shouldn't even be THINKING about it. I feel sorry for the three elementary schools that are testing year round school out next year: Dodge Elementary, Howard Elementary, and Starr Elementary schools. Schedules also affect other people's lives and what I like to call “fun time”. Not to mention, if your friend or brother/sister had school on days you didn't (or vice-versa), you wouldn't see them as much. You could also get into violence, because of jealousy of one another's schedules. You most likely would not have as much time with your friends, therefore making year round school ABSOLUTELY UNBEARABLE! Furthermore, the parents of multiple children with different schedules would have to dramatically alter their itineraries for dropping off/picking up children. Most importantly, the school budget would be lowered even farther from the electronic usage cost, and other supplies. Also, the teachers would be relentlessly tired due to the extended amount of time it takes to pack up for home every 9 weeks, as well as getting paid extra for working overtime, which also dramatically lowers the school budget. Plus, a lower budget means less supplies for advanced education such as the High Ability Learner's Program(HAL), which requires a select amount of different stockpiles for their activities. As you can see, these things affect the school budget negatively in several ways. Mr. Kort, our school principal, even commented and concluded “I would like to keep our traditional methods of school”. I realize that a wide variety of teachers and parents are for Year Round School. HOWEVER, what THEY don't realize is that they would most likely have to pay more money for day care services on the breaks, as well as a possible tax increase due to the extra cost of the school's electronic functions. This extraordinary series of events could possibly occur, and THEN, only THEN would will those parents and teachers who actually were enlightened to the idea of year round school, plausibly, or imaginably, change their unfortunate decision.

Ze Fuzzy Bunny its_a_new_day Ze Fuzzy Bunny I have year round school. Do you like it? It's okay I guess, I don't really think much of it. But blue pikachu makes it sound so bad. Well, I was just doing this for a speech at school. And i don't think year round school would be a good idea. I mean, how often do you get to relax for long periods of time with year round school? Such as a 2-3 month period?

it does wonders for foren countries, but i don't think the problem is how long the school is, i think its that the teachers are going to easy on the students, no one WANTS to go anywhere in life so they don't. some people do, but they find it to hard once they leave highschool because they're not prepared enough

Well, school in China is year round. My cousin has no problem with it cause i hear you get like a few weeks off every now and then and you actually sleep over at the school. I mean, I wouldn't want to do that lol, I'm too used to the American way of schooling. But college is a beech like that I will be taking year round classes for the next..2 years at least. :[ Good bye freedom
