It was announced last week that The WB and UPN would become one really big and extra crappy network. Now you only have to ignore one station instead of two!

About the only things I watch on UPN now are reruns of Farscape and Stargate: Atlantis in the local market. I don't watch the WB at all.

Dammit, not working.
Anyways, the gist of the article is mainly about how Fox (The ones who made Buffy) wanted $40+ million per Buffy season in WB, and that's why the show was dropped from WB and was later broadcast in UPN.
Buffy was really ******** successful! It attracted young people like no other show. Along with Angel it was the best WB show at the time, and when WB dropped Buffy and later cancelled Angel, they signed their own epitaph.

The WB's demise was foretold long ago.

WB canceled Angel just as it was getting really good again. They aren't too bright. I'm sadly addicted to Gilmore Girls, but other than that I don't watch anything on WB. I'd be watching Veronica Mars on UPN but I got hooked through DVD after the second season had started so if I watched new episodes I'd have missed a lot.

"Smile Time" is a great episode. The giant evil charcter that sqeaks makes me giggle like crazy every time. Plus season 5 had Illyria and the wonderful dynamic between Angel and Spike. I could also stand Conner, where as in season 4 I just wanted to wring the neck of that psychotic brat.

Talking about the show makes me mad at the WB all over agian.

I didn't like Illyria at first, oddly enough...

HOWEVER, the episode in which she's starting to lose control of her powers and she gets all crazy paranoid convinced me otherwise. It made me realize that it completely changed the show's dynamics in a good way.
(SPOILER -- Is it really needed?)

Wes's death was just plain cool.

And I think the show's last lines are the epitome of awesome:
Quote:
Spike: Any terms of a plan?
Angel: We fight.
Spike: Bit more specific?
Angel: Well, personally? I kinda want to slay the dragon. Let's go to work.

It seems that Josh Whedon is now trying to kill the Internet.
Beginning with Warren Ellis.

Nah, Warren Ellis' been trying to kill the internets since time immemorial. It's his mortal enemy or something.

But now with Joss Whedon as his potential enemy, he'll definately kill the internet now sad sad

I personally got the impression that they were having fun as well as being biting.

*shrug* Some people revel in being enemies.

Obviously. I mean, not even once did they say the right and proper name of their intellectual brain children... Not even themselves! Each iteration further deformed anything, and in the end it was not only hilarious, but also very, VERY geeky.
