I personally don't care about rumors, if the rumors turn out to be true, what's the harm?
Especially if the rumor is just something like you're dating. Then yeah, its hardly scathing. It just means everyone else saw it coming which is usually how it works.
very much agreed. It may feel kinda awkward but it can actually be positive in the sense that the idea of the two of you going out isnt a totally foreign idea.
& as for your parents.... eventually I believe they will accept it or be forced to be when they realize you dont just date the opposite gender. as for the offensive joking, you wont always be living under their roof so at least theres that. and once you move out you do have one bargaining chip to threaten with: if they continue acting that way you can set them down and tell them that if they dont cut the bull, you will cut them out of ur life. Break contact and just leave
