Usually his night were peaceful ones, but tonight for some odd reason Amerald had woken up hungry. It was still in the wee hours of the morning, around the time the baker got in to start off his baked goods. How Amerald knew this, was from the sweet smell of warm bread filtering through the quiet morning streets and reaching the window he left slightly cracked opened. The temptation was great, and oh so quietly Amerald pushed the covers off of him and made his way out of his bedroom. He made sure to check up on both girls, only satisfied once he'd checked that they were both sleeping soundly and would be safe for the few minutes he'd be gone. As silent as a mouse running through a home, Amerald had put on his boots, grabbed his jacket and stepped out into the cool morning air.
The sun was just rising above the town of Nuan, splashing rich colors across the skies. Thoughts of how beautiful a Hraapea with those colors would look like, but his stomachs protest drew his eye away from the sky and down the street to the bakers. As Amerald drew closer to the bakery, the smell grew even more intense making his mouth water. The light inside was open, a large burly man was just putting out freshly baked bread out. Pushing the door to the shop open Amerald made his way over to the bread. "Good morning sir, how may I help you?" Amerald smiled back at the man. "One bread sir please, you wouldn't have any jam with that would you?" The girls had finished off the remaining jam at home, this would be a nice surprise for them when they woke up. "Sure, let me go check the back." So Amerald was left alone at the front of the store waiting on Jam.

((Uri is the name of the OC.))
"Three bagels, a dozen doughnuts, three pineapple danishes, a strawberry struddle and a loaf of Melon bread..." He hated going on the breakfast run for his shop. Sure, the owner called them in early every day, but... It was worth it, to see them work so hard... And every other day, they would have breakfast as a whole in the little clinic owned by his lover. He himself didn't work there, but instead, he provided comfort to the ones who needed it the most. A nurse, but focusing on the more humane side of the medical field.
The bakery across town was the favorite for that crowd, and it was insisted that he go to that one, rather than the other that was merely across the street from the clinic.
Today was a bit different, for as early as the morning was, there was someone else there waiting, and they were the only two people in the shop.
Uri, by far, was not a social person. In fact, he shied away from the other a bit, hoping as hard as he could that the owner would return to the counter, so his order could be paid, and he could head back to the small clinic that made him feel so very safe.

Truthfully, Amerald hadn't expected anyone else to be up at such a horrid time in the morning. When the little bell to the shops door opened up, Amerald jumped a bit, caught completely off guard while day dreaming. The man came in looking a bit like he was trying to avoid any social conversation, however being a bit of a social butterfly, Amerald turned to him and smiled. "The baker went to get some jam, he shouldn't be too long." He could at least tell him where the baker had gone, if he was in a hurry then he'd be able to go to another bakery. "I hope you're not in a hurry." Amerald clasped his hands together in front of him, rocking back on his heels while watching the young man. It was still early, and Amerald mustn't have been thinking clearly, but he suddenly wanted to offer the man one of his most precious possessions. Though it would require some of the mans DNA first, and getting such a sample required for Amerald to befriend the man. "I'm Amerald." he extended his hand in greeting, if he got him talking maybe he could get him to sit down for breakfast.

"Ah, thank you..." He nodded towards the male who addressed him, fidgeting a bit as he was spoken to. He really didn't like talking to people outside of his clinic. There, he had a purpose, a reason to be outgoing, for the comfort of others, but here, he was simply taking up space, waiting to help put the metaphorical bread on the baker's table.
He tried to shy away unnoticed from the older gentleman, but he found himself being spoken to again.
"Um.. Just wanted to get some breakfast for the workers at my clinic before we open.. There is a sickness going right now, and we need to make sure we don'g get sick as well." His words were murmured, hoping that was enough to satisfy his companion's curiosity. Didn't seem all too successful.
"I'm Uri.. Um.. It's nice to meet you, he responded, shaking the other's hand quickly, before letting it go." In his mind, he was begging as hard as he could that the baker would come soon.

"Oh you own a clinic?" Amerald smiled, that was a good career. Getting breakfast for his workers also made him seem like a good man, if he were to receive a feather, Amerald was sure he would cherish it just as much as he cherished both his daughters.
"So Uri, care to have a quick breakfast before you head off? Maybe just a coffee? I wouldn't want to keep you too long from your clinic." He would need a sample of his DNA is he ever wanted to give the man a feather, and a business card would probably serve him quite well too. It would also be nice to have a doctor if the girls ever needed anything, he wouldn't have risked it with a doctor who didn't have first hand about the Hraapea. Though, this doctor seemed a little on edge. As far as Amerald knew, he wasn't a scary man nor looked like someone who could harm another. Just then the baker came in, handing Amerald his requested items.
"Hello sir, how may I help you this morning?" Amerald stepped aside to let Uri pass, he still wanted to have that coffee with him.

Uri nodded at the question. Granted, he didn't QUITE own the clinic. It was more of a shared place, but he saw it as his own, if not for the simple fact that he lived upstairs. It was a quaint, quiet place, not too many people came, but he did have his own group of loyal customers who came. That's what mattered, that he kept those people well, that he kept EVERYONE who came in feeling in the most tip top condition.
"A Quick breakfast..?" It had been quite some time since anyone offered to eat with him, and just the thought of it made him rather uncomfortable and awkward. But.. it would be rude to refuse, right..? And maybe he would stop by his shop.. All of his workers loved meeting new people, since they were so few and far between.
"Um.. Sure, I can stay a while.." He gave a small smile, turning back to the baker to place his rather large order. "And.. Um.. That will be to go, but I would like a cup of coffee, and a bagel as well. To eat here, if you don't mind.. Thank you very much."
He paid, giving the baker a sad, sorry smile, as if apologizing for making the order more complicated than it had to be.. Soon enough, he received his items, and took a seat at a table near by, signaling the man to join him.

"Yes, yes, nothing long. I myself have two daughters fast asleep, and I wouldn't want them to awake to an empty house." No, just enough time so he could snatch up some DNA, though he really was interested in the clinic part. Amerald waited quietly beside him as he gave the large order to the baker, who didn't know if it was a blessing or a curse. Once everything had been put in a bag for Uri, Amerald ordered the same thing for breakfast except his bagel was raisin. "Three sugars and two milks please." Gently taking the hot coffee in one hand, he balanced his own small order in the other and went to sit with Uri.
"So this clinic, does it do well? Do you have a family doctors? Are you a doctor?" Amerald could get curious, but if Uri was indeed a doctor, he'd just hit gold. There would be no need, hopefully, to smuggle his daughters across town or wherever this clinic was, if Uri would just walk to his home; it saved him a lot of trouble. Amerald took a sip of his coffee, making a face once he thought he'd burned his tongue.

"We do well enough to stay open. We don't really focus on money, nor fame, we get the job done, and make sure that we have all our patients feeling well." There was a sense of pride in his words as he gazed at the man before him. Their clinic was small, but home to many. Home in the sense that it was a safe place.
"We preform emergencies, as well as normal check ups. We aren't big, but we're completely competent, and we have a staff who are experts in atleast one field." Except himself. He was no expert in anything, well, maybe an expert in emotions. Yeah, maybe that was it.
"No.. Not quite." A small smile made it's way to his lips as he thought of the one who actually was the doctor of the small clinic. "I'm... More of a nurse, than anything else.. The real doctor is an outstanding man. Strong, kind, and his hands are the sturdiest you could even imagine. He makes no moves that are unnecessary..."
A dark blush came across his cheeks, as he thought of that man who owned the clinic.. They had been together as friends for atleast ten years.. And an sort of.. Love had developed from it. Uri had been, and still was, too shy to say anything about that relationship, or his own feelings.. But things were okay as it were, right?

"I see" Amerald listened quietly, taking a few bites from his bagel and some sips from his coffee. He still listening to Uri, nodding his head and whatnot, but he was also thinking of a way to get a DNA sample. he didn't think he could out right ask for one, that would seem odd... Without realizing it he frowned lightly, but to busy focusing on the real goal of this little morning breakfast. Then again, if Uri finished off his coffee he could always use the saliva on the cup for DNA. Shaking his head lightly, he finally noticed the blushing young man. "A nurse is good all the same, without nurses doctors would be quite lost now, don't you think?" If Uri wasn't the doctor however, Amerald couldn't take his girls secretly to the clinic if anything serious were to happen, but little check ups couldn't hurt either; if they prevented things from happening then they wouldn't need a doctor. "I'll have to visit your clinic some day," another sip of coffee, the cup was almost done, "I probably need a check up, I don't go see the doctor much." Or go out at all for that matter, but Uri didn't need to know that part. If things went well though, Uri would know exactly how Amerald felt.

"Yes... The doctor though is the real amazing man. He's my best friend, we share everything. A home, a job, secrets, every day together.." If only it could be something more.. He shook his head quickly. No! He was beginning to act like some love sick puppy or something. And spewing it to a near stranger! He must look insane.
"I'm sure that he'll be more than happy to take a look at you, or your daughters~ First time is free for all patients~" Something about talking about his clinic made him feel so much more calm. It was like a security blanket, he supposed. With a shy smile, he downed the rest of his coffee, after finishing off his bagel.
Uri then reached into his coat, pulling out his wallet, and handing a business card to the man before him.
"Here~ It's our office number~ Someone is always there, though I'm usually the one who answers~"

As Amerald listened quietly to the man talking about the doctor, it became apparent that he had a little thing for the doctor. If they were living together that could only mean they were together, bot that Amerald minded, but it could potentially put a stick in the wheels of his plan. However, Amerald wouldn't be deterred from his plans! Checking outside towards the street, the sky was lighting up and morning was drawing closer, he'd have to return home soon.
"This doctor sounds like a great man! WE'll have to chat more another time Uri, my daughters will be getting up any time soon and I wouldn't want to give them a panic if they found out I wasn't home." he took the card from Uri and put it in his pockets, then eying Uri's cup of coffee Amerald got up. He'd have to snatch it while Uri wasn't watching, he needed his saliva.
"It was really nice meeting you Uri, I'm sure we'll be meeting again very soon." Amerald smiling, of yes they'd be seeing each other in the near future. Extending his hand, he hoped Uri would leave his cup of coffee unattended long enough for Amerald to snatch it while they shook hands.

"He is a great man... And I understand... I need to get back--- CRAP!!" As he extended his hand to shake the other man's, he caught a glimpse of his watch, and it was far later than he had thought! Squeezing the man's hand tight in a grasp of fare well, he gave him an embarrassed smile.
"I'm sorry, I have to run now! I'm going to be late!" he exclaimed, releasing the hand to quickly gather his bag, cup left forgotten on the table. "Thank you for sharing the meal with me! We'll be more than happy to see you at our clinic, well, not for being sick, because being sick is bad but.. Oh goodness, look at me random! Okay, See you later!"
He was no doubt, rambling, as rushed out the door, and down the street to a hungry group of workers."
