User ImageThe day was bright and pleasant. A little on the warm side with sun beating down. Spring was returning full force, Fresh snow had long since become old snow. Sheets of snow were melting away, green buds were springing up. Dirt coated in water made for a nice coating of mud. Though it'd likely dry up with the continuously rising sun.

A quiet hum rolled in a jolly tone from a large blue troll stallion. Mud was sprinkled across his hairy hooves. Flowers and herbs were tucked away in a pouch at the side of his necklace. It was so full it appeared to be near spewing out. It was perfect time of year it seemed for the new land to him. His friendly mare friend was about gathering herbs for him as well. Yes It was the perfect day to gather herbs. He would enjoy his day, his herd was nomadic and so there was much chance for them needing his potions.

He hoped they'd never need his potions but he'd have them well stocked with the abundance of plants and herbs. So in his pleasure on this bright day he continued to hum. He came across a small patch of purple flowers. He grinned and he knelt over to begin gathering more of the delicate flowers pulling them up to include the roots. Dirt sprinkled down as he tugged them free.

User ImageWith careful steps, a masked mare carefully made her way across muddy ground. No matter how careful she was, or thought out every action was, she could not prevent mud from clinging to her fetlocks. She didn't even want to think of how her hooves might like.

Mud, oh how she hated it. Everything about it was disgusting. From the way it looked to that wretched squelching sound it made under her hooves. It was all... worthless! She could not wait for the snow to finish melting and for spring to fully settle over the lands.

Of course, there was always the rain that came with spring....

A resigned sigh fell from the mare's lips as she paused in her track to scan the land. Winter was just leaving, and already she wished for it return. While snow would clump within her fur, at least it didn't make her feel grimy. And it made for a much prettier picture. The way it glistened under the sun's light, she could stand and just watch it for hours.

Jentzerlok had not been in the land long but he'd already found so much that he loved about it. The abundance of plants that had cropped up with the beginning of spring astounded him, pleasing him beyond all reason. He'd experiment to see what all he could make with some of the newer herbs he'd found that came with the new land. And just with the thought on having to experiment he spied a new plant he'd yet to see at all. A small patch of snow still white and unmelted surrounded the foreign plant to him. He grinned gleaming at the new plant. The only thing he could think was that he'd have a part of the plant so he could gather more information on it.

The Mud Sucked onto his hooves making a popping sound every time he lifted his hooves out of the mud. "Yah be Min'" He circled the plant figuring how best to get a sample. It resembled a small bush, so he'd not take the whole thing in hopes of having more to gather at a later date. On branch off would do he though. He knelt in and felt thorns p***k at his nose but he payed no real mind to the prickles having gained a tolerance to the pain of the prickles for many plants had them. He gave a tug at the branch he secured in between his teeth just to have it turn and stab the roof of his mouth. He jerked away from the branch with a snort. His tongue teased the roof of his mouth where he could now taste the tang of his blood.

He'd be fine he decided it was a small p***k and so contently he went to try again for the branch. Another few tugs proved fruitless though. it was clear he'd not be getting the plant. In a frustrated fit he stomped on of his hooves hard into the snow about the plant sending snow and mud flying and succeeding and burying his hoof in a good bit of mud.

Unable to take it anymore, Lenore moved to take shelter at a patch of deep snow beneath a tree. Her platinum long blond curls violently bobbed as the mare furtively tried to rid her hooves and fetlocks of the wet earth, turning the once pristine white snow a dirty brown. She almost felt bad for tarnishing the snow, but she preferred the mud destroy its beauty rather than her own. Lifting her hooves, the mare closely inspected them. Stubborn specks still marred her hooves, but they would pass for now. She could clean off the rest once she found a shallow stream.

Moving away from the evidence that she had been anything less than perfect, the mare stuck to the deep snow for as long as she could. Avoiding the mixture of dirty slush and mud that covered a majority of the ground now. It did not take long for her to notice the large stallion in the distance. Hooves paused in the tracks and her head cocked, curls coming precariously close to touching the ground, as she watched him struggle with something. Just what, she could not see. Nor did she honestly care, for only one thing came to mind as she looked over his mud covered pelt.

Barbarian.

The mud and snow sent flying into the air by a child like-in her opinion- stomp only asserted her thoughts. To fraternize with such people was beneath her.

Having decided to give the stallion a wide berth, the mare stepped from her safe zone, only to have her hoof go skidding out from beneath her. A squeal of absolute disgust ripped from her mouth as mud splattered up the length of her leg.

The stomping on the ground had been successful. The Goal was achieved as the plant began to give way moving ever so slightly to show it had been lessened from the death grip the frozen rearth seemed to have on it. In a triumphant burst Jentzerlok tugged even harder at the branch. Soon the entire plant gave way slipping and sliding from the earth with a gurgling slick pop of mud. It roots tossed out dirt and mud as he freed it from its home.

His glory of the freed plant was shortly forgotten as he heard a squeal from somewhere behind him. He frowned with the plant clutched in his mouth, and turned to see the source of the female outcry. It was a pretty mare not too far off with a huge mane of blond curls. He set the plant down tentatively on the ground to be sure not to hurt it in anyway. "Eh, Jah bein ah’keh or’er der?"

He carefully watched as he extracted himself from the mud and snow concoction from around the plant he’d come across, to make his way over to the mare. She was pretty. Her coat beneath her blond curls was a like his only her’s faded to a white. He couldn’t see why she’d cried out because she looked quite alright. "Jah be seemin oh’rit tah meh"
