I have a sunny corner of my larger vegitable garden that I would like to put an herb garden in- one that would have herbs for more pagany-spiritual things.

Do people have any suggestions?

I would not know, but because I'm Asian I would say maybe Ginger? Ginger has been a favorite in Chinese medicine for centuries. They're beneficial and smell great, if you want a good kick smell in the morning. My grandma use to grow them in pots since they're a rhizome (?) She always has more than she could use, so she would dry the slices and put them through the house, she said it was healthy for the house.

Where she grew up Ginger scent a was like the lemon obsession we have in the west.

Yes, they're a rhizome. They grow from a root that spreads (and spreads and spreads). Many people grow them in pots to keep them contained, but they actually make a nice privacy hedge as well.

As to pagan herbs, I have no clue. Aloe vera has a lot of medicinal uses, though, so it is a great plant to grow. It is really a succulent, not an herb, but you can find small ones for small herb gardens and larger ones for larger gardens, so it fits in well.

Sage is very easy to grow and is good for both cooking and rituals.

i second the sage suggestion. If you can, plant rosemary by your garden gate to keep out bad people/spirits. and grow lavender for luck.

I do have some seeds for sage and I plan to buy a rosemary plant to put at my garden gate and maybe another for a window box.

I use a website called aromaweb.com Its more for essential oils that you can extract from the plant bu I find it rather resourceful. They have a blog and two sections I thought that might help

Gardening

Spirituality

These are both from the blog itself. Its a good place to start. Hope it helps!
