A green mount sat in the middle of a snowy field. Occasionally, it moved. Had it been anything but winter, this movement would have gone unnoticed. The green camouflage of the mound blending in almost perfectly with the bush that would be sitting to one side of it. As it wasn't summer, this bush was more a tumbleweed. Hardly able to hide under. Not that the being under the mount was capable of hiding in her old hiding places anymore.

The not-so-little-anymore Bulbasaur continued shifting the snow away from the ground at her feet. She had a green blanket tossed over the two bushes she crouched between, hiding her completely from view. It was a large blanket. Enough to cover both bushes so no one could spy her in between the branches. But anyone passing would know she was there by the footprints. Rosie did not like winter. This was a common practice when she had to spend more than a few minutes outside. She missed the sunshine. The cold made her slower.

Kneeling down in the snow on her knees, the young woman bent lower towards the ground, taking off her glove as she did so. The grass was still sorta green underneath the snow. She hovered her hand over the revealed patch, concentrating on it. Under her palm, the grass grew a little taller before shrinking back down to its original height. Giving a sigh, she sat back down on her butt, protected from the dreaded snow by her makeshift snowsuit. Snow really did suck. Ever since she came out of her egg, this was most of what she'd seen of the world. Faded, dying plants, trees going into hibernation, and this cold, wet, white stuff. This wasn't the season for Grass Pokemon.

Feuer had little complaints about the snow. Most of the time it melted away around his feet and gave him little bother, save for when he stepped in a deep mound and was unable to keep atop of it. The white blanket of colorless earth was no where near as spectacular as the many colors of spring or summer, but it had it's own beauty about it. Silencing, calm, serene, Feuer had been around Aysue too long not to appreciate it.

Feuer scratched the back of his head as he rounded the large trunk of a winter struck tree. He had turned his back for a moment and once again his 'kinder' was gone. His massive puffy tail flicked about behind him in amusement. Hide and seek -was- one of his favorite games to play.

A wide smile stretched across his fuzzy face as he caught sight of the green blanket amongst the white. No doubt, that was the spot.

"You will not hide so well with a bright color like that mine Kinder." He laughed as he turned and started in that direction. As he moved he left a nice trail of perfect foot prints in the snow. Winter was not a good time for him to play hide n' seek because of this.

The Bulbasaur continued to shift the snow away from her boots. She loved it outside. Only thing she didn't was this blasted snow covering the things she used to have fun with. Like the mud. And, now that she thought she could finally try some of her abilities, seeing what she could do with plants. Being half Poison, it was tempting to throw sludge all over. But she wouldn't do that. That would ruin the earth and the plants the stuff landed on. It seemed she would just have to tough out the winter.

Huffing, again, she pushed a pile of snow out from under the blanket. Her reddish eyes fell upon the figure in the distance. Ducking back underneath her makeshift shelter, she pushed some snow out under the other end of the blanket.

"I'm not hiding," Rosie corrected, giving a small drift a kick with her booted foot. "Just getting away from this cold." In no time, she had made a little nest of hibernating grass at the foot of her shelter. This suited her tastes better.

Feuer couldn't help but laugh at the adorable sight. Rosie getting huffy always managed to put a warm smile on his face. He continued to approach until he was looming right over the fort peering over the side trying to get as good a view of his daughter as possible without moving around the side.

"Oh? No games today?" He settled from his laugh. "Well, Why not stay in our tent? It is warm in there you know. Or you can come around and give Papa a hug. I can be warm." His head titled to the side. He was well away she knew by now that line meant she may be in danger of a nuggie. "Sitting in the snow alone won't keep you warm mine kinder...."

His arms folded across his broad chest as he continued to smile down at the fort. It was near impossible to contain the chuckles just looking at it.

"How can you....Play in this?' the teenager huffed, kicking at the snow on one side of the blanket in frustration, like it was something vile and disgusting. At least to her it was something vile and disgusting. No matter how pretty it was when it glistened under the sunlight. "It's cold. I don't mind the wet, but not the cold."

At the invitation to come out, Rosie crawled towards the edge of her makeshift tend that Feuer's voice was coming from and lifted the bottom just enough to peer out. She lay on her back so to easily look up at his towering over her. More so than normal.

"I don't like being coped up in the tent," was her answer. This really was a double edged sword for her. It was boring spending all day inside. But this snow made being outside almost as bad. There just was no way of winning.

When Rosie poked her head out of the anti-snow fort and peered up at Feuer he titled his head further with another deep chuckle. The white puff behind him held still finally as he shook his head.

"Very easy to play games. Makes you forget about the things that are troubling you... like snow." He laughed again as he knelt down to be at least a fraction closer to his daughter. The snow around his feet had already melted enough to reveal a thin layer of dead grass.

"It does no good to think about your worries ja?" He moved his thumb and pointer finger to his chin and rubbed his beard slowly. "So, maybe we can do something to distract you from this? What do you want to be doing?"

Feeling herself silly to be laying down on the ground, Rosie ducked back underneath her tent to crouch down and fully crawl out, brushing the snow off herself. This was true. Sulking over the snow and trying to hide form it when she really wanted to be outside would do her no good in the long run. However, she wouldn't outright admit her papa was right.

"I'm not sure what one does to ignore cold snow..." she sighed, looking around her at all the white on the ground. Although, there was one thing...

The Bulbasaur reached down to her hip and unhooked a whip in the shape of the vines Grass Pokemon used. She held it up, coiled under her hand like a snake.

"Well, I do want to learn some new tricks. If that's alright."

Feuer backed away as Rosie emerged from her blanket fort. The smile only widened on his face as he watched her. "There is a lot to be done to ignore it." He refolded his arms across his chest. "Simply not let it get the best of you mine kinder." He nodded than looked down at the whip presented to him.

"Well.. yes, that is alright?" Now he was curious and a bit suspicious of the request. Perhaps he was expecting more of a demand? This must have been important. The smile slowly, and briefly, vanished from his face to further portray his confusion.

"What tricks should we learn today?" He asked than looked from the whip back to Rosie. Most of the smile had returned by than.

The smile on Feuer's face soon became infectious. Living with him for so long, it was difficult not to join in. Rosie soon found a grin forming on her own face, as much as she tried to stop it. She didn't want to be happy. Snow was evil. And she was also nervous about asking her papa what she wanted to ask. Not that it would really stop her if he did say no. She'd just go into the city and find someone else to help her with this trick.

Keeping the whip held up, the teenager managed to wipe the small smile from her face at last. "Do something new with the petals? Like set them on fire?"

It would be a risky maneuver. She knew this. A Grass Pokemon working with something it was terrible weak against? She wasn't even sure if fire would still affect her like it would a real Pokemon. Not that she was eager to test this. Still, she wanted to try this. Rosie was ever the daredevil. Something she likely picked up from her father.

Feuer's smile widened at seeing the cheer pass onto his daughter, however, the smile slowly faded at the question. "Mine Kinder...." He begun than sighed deeply.

Reluctantly he took the whip in his hand, looked it over several times before setting it back in Rosie's hand. There was no doubt in her skill, Feuer had never seen someone so skilled with a whip as Rosie when she danced. But fire was a common enemy to grass and very devastating if misused or underestimated. On the other side, he did not wish to hold back his daughter's ambitions.

"...Fire is very dangerous mine Kinder. If you are not careful with it, it can do much harm to you. That I do not want to see.." Feuer spoke in his very rare fatherly tone which carried no amusement or cheer. "but... If this is what you want, we will do this... but only if you will listen very carefully to what I say. Understood?"

The little Bulbasaur allowed the whip to be taken in silence, respecting the fact her papa had to make a decision about whether he wanted to teach her something so dangerous. Even if she wasn't the type she was, fire to anyone was hazardous. Clothes and hair could catch fire. A mistake could happen and start a huge fire outside or inside. Inside, however, was one place she knew she didn't want to practice this.

The smile was quick to return to her face when he agreed to help her. Giving Feuer a hug around the legs-for that was the most she could reach-she shot a grin upwards, ignoring the obvious tone of his voice.

"Of course!" she called up, still clinging to the giant man's leg. "I wouldn't endanger anyone's lives, Papa. It would make the performance much better." And, secretly, she was just a daredevil. A fact she was sure he knew, but a fact she didn't want to voice out loud. There was very little Rosie would try. Especially if she was dared to.

Rosie's reaction certainly gave Feuer more of his usual spirit back. A smile crept back on his face as he gave her a pat on the head. She was a firecracker and her knew that she would not give out her word so lightly.

"okay, we will need lots of room." And preferably an area with a lot of snow still on the ground in case anything should go wrong. The cold would mean nothing as soon as they got going.

Feuer surveyed the area around the camp, there was his usual practice area just on the edge of the clearing where there was enough room to keep from the trees and not be so close to the tents. There was also the clearing they used to perform the shows. That spot seemed more ideal considering there was more room to work with and less foliage to avoid. His own practice area served perfectly for himself, but he considered there would need to be more room for error. Hopefully not a disastrous error.

"So I will light one pedal on fire at times, when you have mastered moving it without any trouble than we light two. It is slow, but you get a feel for how it feels. The stage will be best to practice on, you are all prepared for this ja?"

A wider grin spread across the young woman's face and she hugged the giant man tighter around one leg. A long string of "Thank you" was quick to follow. So much of them, in fact, her tongue started to get tied soon after. Only a very small part of her expected a no. He wasn't so uptight as the people who cared for her at the orphanage. Always scolding her for exploring the city and surrounding woods, no matter how many times she came back unharmed. Okay, there was that one time she fell and broke her wrist. But that was one time out of so many others.

"I will be careful, Papa, don't worry," she reassured, letting go finally and straightening up at his side, holding the vine whip in front of her with both hands. She didn't often go anywhere without it. It made her feel comfortable. Like she had been missing something this entire time.

"Of course!"

Feuer couldn't help but smile even wider at his daughter, even chuckle a little when the thank yous became unrecognizable from the slip of tongue. He gave her another pat on the head.

"I will go get the bag of pedals from the tent. Meet me on stage and we will start there okay mine Kinder?"

He knew that he didn't have to wait for a response. With one more pat on the head he turned back to the tent where the props were stored, and than begun to walk at a fast pace. Rose wouldn't tolerate a slow walk and he did not feel the need to run. He always had a bit of a hard time stopping quickly. No one needed to be reminded of the last incident where he plowed into the side of the tent. It still made him laugh at least.

"Hey!" the teenager retorted at the second pat, reaching up a hand to smooth down her hair. As if that mattered. It was messy to begin with. Besides, the broad smile on her face wouldn't fool a single person. Of course she didn't care what her hair looked like. Since when did she ever take pride in her appearance? Only when she performed.

Hooking the whip back to her belt, Rosie went in a different direction, towards where she knew the stage would be. She left the blanket where she was, intending on returning to it after they were done. To her, it was better than just staying in the tent to escape from the cold. She could be by herself for a little bit. As much as having a family after being abandoned by the human was nice, so was spending time with just herself for company. It was her own little hideaway where she could still clearly hear the sounds of nature outside the fuzzy walls.

Once at the stage, the Bulbasaur got up on it without a moment's pause, taking the whip from her belt once her feet were firmly planted on the surface. She uncurled it with a sharp snap at the air. With her free hand, she pointed her finger away from her, making swirling motions until a little tornado of tiny petals formed. It was no bigger than her hand. Just something she practiced on and off. Rosie wasn't content with trying to live as a human without the ability to use a few of the attacks her type could.
