"I don't get paid enough for this," Alder huffed as he waddled along, trying to stay upright from the stack of twigs strapped to his back. Each big step made it look like he'd teeter over any minute as he followed Flint through Mossflower to the usual section where Flint usually set up shop.

"You don't get paid at all," Flint reminded him. Or at least he wished that was the case. Since taking in the little mouse, Aldie had started eating him out of house and home, so now visits to Mossflower needed to be more frequent as Aldie's little belly expanded.

His annoyance at the whole situation was very clearly on display.

Flint dropped his load and flopped down to take a rest before setting up, carefully taking the twigs from Alder and organizing them amongst the rest of his wares.

"Why are we all the way over here in this corner?" Alder asked, plopping a little bowl on his head and using it like a helmet. A helmet that pushed his ear awkwardly over his eyes.

"Because."
"Because whyyy?" He asked, bumbling around until he bumped into the older mouse.
"Beca-- STOP THAT!" Flint snapped, taking the bowl off his head and putting it back in it's place. "Because this is the best to be both seen and not stepped on or overlooked by bigger animals. And this spot is just fine. You just don't know how this works because... uh, Alder?" He had to stop his organizing and rambling when he turned to look over his shoulder and found his immediate space sorely lacking in smaller mice.

"Kyaaa~!" Aldie had found another bowl while Flint was scrambling to put his set up back together, and he'd even snapped one of his twigs in half to swing around like a toy sword. So now, mostly blind and really only able to see his feet, he was marching through the crowd, swinging his twig, narrowly avoiding being stepped on twice and accidentally smacking nearby critters countless times. And Flint was having a hard time locating him in spite of all this nuisance making.

He was having a pretty sizable panic in the meantime, trying to keep a hold on all his twigs and make it through the crowd with his inability to bring himself to push and shove and his small stature making things even more difficult. He was waaay behind Alder, and getting more and more worried he wouldn't be able to catch up before something happened to him.

"Whoaaa...." the tiny Pantoof whispered in awe, gazing with wide ruby eyes at the grand majesty that Mossflower had to offer. She kept close to her new caregivers side, gently holding the strap of Lova's satchel so as not to get swept away in the hustle and bustle of the passing crowd. She'd been here before, since she had come from that boring old orphanage, but it seemed so much different in this perspective. Everything seemed more lively, and far more interesting.

Smiling lightly as she skillfully traveled through the packed crowd of buyers and sellers, entertainers, mercenaries, wizards and the like, Lova made sure to keep at a pace that her little companion could keep up at. Glancing down occasionally, giggling faintly at the child's obvious amazement from the bumbling market. "There's lots to see, huh?" she softly murmured to Pantoof, weaving through legs of larger critters, keeping the child right at her hip. "Keep close to me, Pantoof. The further in we get, the more hectic it will get." she instructed, feeling the tiny paws clutching the strap of her satchel squeeze more.

On the trip today, Lova hoped to maybe buy somethings that might prove to make Pantoof feel more comfortable with the whole ordeal of moving into a new home. Perhaps some things that would spruce up the little room Lova had cleaned up to let her live in. A stuffed bug maybe, a piece of clothing, or bead. A house warming gift, of sorts. She didn't know much about the little female, aside from her parents no longer being in the picture and that she was quite spirited, but other than that she was at a loss of what might catch the youth's interest! But maybe Pantoof would find something, allowing Lova to observe and gage the child's reaction towards certain items. Smiling, a plan set up, she guides her little comrade along to the side of the stalls that were for the smaller variety of rodents. First things first, time to get necessity's.

Gah! Where to start, where to begin! There was so much that caught the tikes eyes! She was indifferent about how she felt, scowling and frowning at one point, gasping, and widening her eyes the next! Round ears perking as her guide grew to a stop, Pantoof looked over to see what had caused the pause in their walking... seeing that they'd arrived to their first destination. Lova appeared to be exchanging some seeds for another breed. It was time to start preparing gardens and such, so variety was smart. But the little mouse didn't care about that... she just wanted to find something fun to do! Pouting, lip puckered out, she skimmed along the surrounding stalls, and crowd. She froze upon spying some rather heavy, and impressive looking gear at a booth all the way on the other side. Leaning side to side to try and look between the crossing legs, and bodies, Pantoof brightened with curiosity as she saw intricate items strewn along the vendor's set-up... she had to see it for herself! Glancing briefly to Lova, seeing that she was quite absorbed in the trade, the feisty little rodent slowly let go of the strap, and bounded off into the crowd.

Smiling lightly to the merchant, she bowed her head shyly, "Thank you.." she replied, replacing her old seeds with the new onces, turning to lift the satchel and check on-- Pantoof! Ears flaring straight up, Lova's brilliant blue eyes growing wide, she snapped her head up to look about frantically, "p-Pantoof...?!" she called nervously, just barely able to rest atop the mumble of the idle chatter. Oh dear!
Quickly closing and securing the pack shut, she dashed into the crowd to find her petite companion.

"Wa-SHAH!" Aldie continued battling his way around, watching his own toes to keep from tripping, but had only escaped being tripped over himself by the saving grace of the other creatures who halted when spotting him or being smacked with his twig,

It was an adventure, but he quickly became bored, his obstructed sight blocking his vision of half the minute inconvenience he caused for the creatures he crossed paths with, and he pulled his bowl-helmet off his head and blinked several times as he glanced around. He hopped in circle, trying to figure out where he was at in vain and then pulled back his ears before putting his 'helmet' back on, his vision from under it only slightly improved than when it pushed his ears over his eyes.

Then, attempting to hurl himself back into the crowd with a misguided attempt at using the twig to pole vault. Instead, his twig stuck in the ground and he just fell over, right in front of a similarly sized mouse.

"Pantoof!"

It was a quick squeak, emitted as he tried to roll upright and hold onto his bowl/hat/helmet at the same time.

In the meantime, poor Flint was going over all the various ways a small mouse could be trampled or kicked aside or lost forever as he continually scrambled and skittered around, occasionally trying to stand as tall as possible and shout out Alder's name at the top of his lungs and clutch what little inventory he'd managed to take along.
