I guess i'm happy that the raiders have richard seymour, but i wish they could've gotten him with something other than their 1st round draft pick. If they really don't get asomugha back, then they're definitely going to need a good cb like patrick peterson to take his place. But i wish they never let him go into free agency, i hope nnamdi goes to a team like the colts, and not the jets. xD

Cam Newton going first overall wasn't really a surprise, however I still think there are too many intangibles with him, and a larger risk factor than most of the other QB's in the draft. He has potential of being the next Michael Vick... or the next Jamarcus Russell. Just one season of being a college starter, sure he won a national championship, but you would think the lack of experience would be a major red flag for taking him so high. With NFC powerhouses like Atlanta and New Orleans in their division, and Tampa Bay rising up to be a playoff contender, I think this was more of a desperation move by the team to try and get back into the mix.

When Blaine Gabbert fell to #7 I was surprised San Francisco passed on him. Even more so that Tennessee picked Locker ahead of him and he dropped to #10 overall and the 3rd QB drafted. Though this year was dubbed, "The year of the passer" most if not all the QB's in the draft this year was quoted as being "Work in Progress." It will be a tough start for both Locker and Gabbert in a division Indianapolis has dominated for years. But I can see Gabbert being the most successful of the QB's drafted given his situation. Locker has potential in Tennessee, Kaepernick in San Francisco should be alright. Newton questionable, Dalton, Ponders, and Mallet, so far I don't see a bright future for either of these QB's

The draft is done, some teams did a great job, others... not so great.

The two best teams in the draft this year to me were the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions.

Cleveland- Their trade in the first round with the Falcons alone to get 5 pick so Atlanta can move up to get Julio Jones alone was enough for them to have a good draft in general. They filled many needs on defense, and even though they passed up on Jones, got Greg Little and Jordan Cameron, both of whom are good prospects and can pan out to be great weapons for Colt McCoy. maybe not as good as Jones, but they still have potential to be good starters.

Detroit- It's hard to do well in a draft where you only had 5 picks, and their most pressing matter to me was offensive line which they didn't really address till their last pick. But as they say, the best defense is a good offense. and the Lions have all the tools now to have a defense that could be one of the best in the entire NFL. Fairley may not turn out to be another Suh, but if he does, their defensive line will be scary good. This is one of those drafts for the lions where just one player will determine if this was a pass or fail year in the draft.

The Epic Fail of the year... Minnesota Vikings.

After the terrible year which ended up being Favre's last, they were in desperate need of a QB. At best Ponders was a second round pick, I had him as a third. Sure Mallet had some, "Personality issues" but of the QB's remaining when the Vikings got to that point in the draft, Mallet was the best on the board. It's kinda sad when I look up Ponders and the only thing I see people really rave about is his performance during a 7 on 7 exhibition Senior bowl game. Cincinnati and San Francisco held their guns to address very pressing issues and got very good WR and DE/OLB with their first pick and still got good QB prospects in Dalton and Kaepernick in the second round. In my opinion the Vikings were in a panic, and drafted a QB who went at least one round earlier than he should have, and one who I feel won't do them any good in the long run.

Your whole thing about the lions is wrong, since if they needed a offense line then they would not have had a dominate run game. When they picked up Titus Young, he will be yet another big target for the starting quarterback.

I would beg to differ. This offensive line, while not the worst in the NFL, is far from one of the best. Your talking about an offensive line which A, cannot keep their starting QB healthy, leading to Mathew Stafford suffering multiple injuries in his short career due to an inability to properly pick up the blitz. 2, Their run game could use much improvement. Ranked 24th in the league in first down rushing, 24th in total rushing plays, 23rd in rushing yards, and 18th in rushing touchdowns. Some would point to a need at Running back to improve these elements, but it all begins with the offensive line. The better the line the better the running and passing as a whole. You praise the pick of Titus for being another big target, yet the Lions passing game wasn't nearly as bad as their running game. They had bigger needs for offensive linemen who can better pick up the blitz and protect their QB, and open up the holes so the RB can break away for the big ground gains. I praise their pick of Fairley for this will give them an even bigger boost on defense, and when paired up with Suh they have the potential for being the most dominant defensive duo in the entire NFL. But on offense their biggest needs were at offensive line. A great receiving core is nothing if you cannot keep your QB on his feet to get them the ball, or if they don't have a good enough running offense to balance out the offensive attack and help open up the pass game. Their defense have the makings of being very terrifying, and for how they drafted on Defense I give them an A. Offensively, the offensive line should have come before any needs at RB or Wide Receiver.

I understand where you are coming from, that is why we drafted Mikel Leshore and Titus Young. To add to our debate our defense should be outstanding since we drafted Nick Fairley him and Ndumukong Suh.

I'm happy that the Falcons moved up to get Matt Ryan a new toy on offense.. I would have been just as happy if they drafted secondary but there wasn't any standout safeties in this years draft..
The Colts draft was rather boring.. Predominately offensive line, but that is what we were hurting for.
