As far as mate/fling/etc hunting goes, there is an age limit. Pets need to be adults for at least two weeks.
Again: obey the shop rules, Gaia ToS, Breedables Rules & Guidelines. We assume that you've at least glanced at everything before and have been following the rules properly, but just in case: you can find the ToS here and the Breedables Rules/Guidelines here. When it comes to the shop itself, please read the front page and F.A.Q. before you ask questions, your answer may be there. Remember, Gaia is PG-13!
And again: be courteous. Try to be respectful towards other users and keep things civil, both ICly and OOCly. Don't go flaming others, don't go starting fights, don't use mules (situations involving mules need to be explained - gaia banned your original account for XXX reason, your original account was hacked, etc.), and don't beg or harass other users for things like pets/breedings/plots/concepts/designs/rehomings/etc. Don't push your pet on anyone else's pet, romantically or otherwise. In the guild, here in the main thread, via PM, it doesn't matter how... just don't.
Try to use some type of bracket for any OOC text while RPing. People usually find it easier to read what you say when you use brackets! For example: (text), [text], or {text}.
No godmodding. Recognize that your pet has limits and boundaries when it comes to their skills. Additionally, don't make anyone's pet do something they did not wish to do.
You must own a pet to RP it. This includes pets you have ordered, but which have not been colored and/or certed yet.
These pets should, for the most part, act and be treated "realistically". Pets cannot use "special powers" in RPs unless they have edit(s) that imply this (a pet with a fire edit, a pet wielding a sword in it's mouth, cosplays, gods, etc). All unedited pets have zero "special powers", although species with specific traits can do certain things. Ucolians/Undulcans can fly with their wings, Yunin can heal with their horns, Uudesa can breathe underwater, etc. In addition to this, the pets here at Jokoa` shouldn't be RP'd as humans, anthros, etc. within the guild.
Don't have your pet attack or injure others without reason. Ulaya, along with all of the other pets here at the shop, don't usually attack other creatures without reason! Extremely hostile ulaya are actually pretty rare (and if you have a pack of mean/nasty pets, you've met some strict requirements for why they are all this way). If you're going to have a pet attack another in a serious manner, please discuss things with all of the owners involved beforehand, just to make sure you know what you're all getting into. Deaths should be handled in a similar manner to fights and injuries, with all of the owners involved discussing things beforehand. Killing off a pet is a very serious thing! Once a pet has died or been killed off ICly, they can no longer breed or be RP'd, so please keep this in mind.
Keep anything explicit in the dark. When hinting at or leading characters to sex in an RP on Gaia, you need to do a fade to black, with nothing explicit typed out, because it could land you in serious trouble (account being frozen, blacklisting, being called out publicly, etc.) with people both in and outside of the shop, including Gaia's moderators. Any RPs with strong sexual content will be deleted, period. As far as sexual things goes, the shop avoids:
- The act itself.
- Rape.
- Incest.
- Overly lewd comments and jokes about any of the above.
LABELING RPS:
- Please title your RPs. The title of an RP should be done like so: RP label first, the actual RP title, and then the names of the pets involved (if you can fit them in). For example: "[PRP] One Sunny Day [John x Jane]". As long as that basic format is followed and the necessary info is included (RP label, RP title, pet names), you'll be good. It's important to label your RPs properly, because mislabeled RPs won't count towards breedings or anything like that until they're fixed! When labeling RPs, please use these labels:
[SRP] if you're just RPing with your own pets.
[PRP] for an RP between two or a few pets.
[ORP] for an open RP that anyone is allowed to join.
[LOG] for a logged messenger RP.
Try to include the names of the pets involved in the RP's title. Don't worry if you can't though! If you can't fit all of the names into the title, you can just include them in the first post of the RP instead, along with their certs. Full names please, no nicknames! If the pet's name is Moonlight, don't use "Moon".
When an RP is about to be finished, have the last person involved wrap things up. No need to add "[FIN]" to the RP's title (you can if you like, though!). Along with the last character's reply, the owner should include a quick "(Finished!)" or something like that in the post. It lets everyone know that the RP is over.
