A dry scream ripped from her throat as sharp teeth clamped down on the muscles in her leg. Perhaps the pain was all she needed, she couldn't even tell what happened next when she felt herself change. Suddenly her leg was healed and she'd reacted without thinking, digging new claws into the creature and smashing it into the ground, hard enough to shell shock the thing.
".....what?" she asked after a moment. Where the hell did that come from? Her body hadn't waited for her mind to issue a command....it was like her body was just reacting now. She stared wide-eyed at Indigo, noticing she wasn't the only one to go through a little change....however she hoped she didn't look quite so silly. The creature moved once again and her body reacted once more without so much as a thought, her claws digging deeper into it until it stopped moving.
When she felt the movement stop she jerked her hand out of it, quickly shoving the dead creature off her claws in shock. Did she honestly just.....? But she loved animals! Her tail and ears prickled uncomfortably at the thoughts rushing through her. Okay....her body wasn't moving according to her will, she'd just killed a fluffy creature.....and did she hear more shuffling? She cringed a little. It sucked being right sometimes when she could see another of the pink things getting closer to them.

Indigo was about to say something to Mark when the girl ALSO seemed to change... and promptly killed the strange biting thing. That was kind of horrifying. Indigo took a couple steps closer to Mark, minding the girl's tail...
Wait a moment. Tail? Really? She was a cat girl... kind of cute, but still a cat girl! But thought of how cute the girl's tail and ears were were pushed aside as another of those nasty things came into view. Indigo had no idea what to do, but she had to do something. She held her hands in front of her, as if to direct some kind of magic spell or attack like they always did in the cartoons, and...
A soothing green light washed over Mark. Any fatigue or lingering pain from the earlier bite was eased, even if the wound had healed when the other transformed.
Indigo didn't happen to notice what she'd done, and was trying to figure out why it wasn't working.

He would, of course, feel bad about it later. Ignoring the danger his friend was in while he was so selfishly wrapped up in the overwhelming joy of being able to walk. It was incredibly hard for him to focus on his surroundings when his brain was locked on that. Carefully Nicohlas took another slow step. He lifted his head to look at the pink haired woman. He was torn between rushing the woman to hug and weep his thanks to her, and doing what clearly was expected of him. In the end it was the sound of pain that caught his full attention. It was not Mark's pain, but that of the chompah creature.
Nicohlas turned, his shoulders felt so heavy and his legs felt strangely strong and whole. He stepped towards Mark...that was mark with the tail yes? How did she get a tail? Wow...she looked just like a Nekogirl... already he could see so many fanboys in the city snapping pictures of Mark with their cellphones. How would she like that? The other girl looked...rather interesting. She had such a fantasy like outfit. In his mind, it made her look valiant. Like one of those knights from a eighteenth century quest or something.
Nicohlas witnessed Indigo's healing of mark's wounds. It was odd but he felt a sort of acknowledgment of that power. Yes...he could do that..sort of. Certainly not like she had though. It seemed like a more intense hands on approach for Indigo's part. Nico's hand lifted of it's own violation to his hair. His fingers brushed against a feather, and he plucked it out. Without questioning what he was doing, Nicohlas brought the feather to his lips and placed a chase kiss upon it's tip. Oh! How curious! he watched with a strange sort of fascination as the feather took on a faint blue glow. He slowly spun the feather between his fingers to admire the color, then pointed it towards the furry chompah making it's way towards the group. Nico gave a small startled jump as a blue light shot out from the tip of the feather. Streaking towards the creature, Nico's eyes merely stared in disbelief at what a small little feather had just done. "Oh...my?"

"Oh god....I transformed into a freak...." she whimpered, ears laying flat against her skull. "Eolande will think this is so not cute...." she squeaked, eyes brimming with tears. She caught sight of her arms and made not of the markings. She checked her exposed abdomen....MORE markings! Oh GOD! It was so NOT CUTE! She let out another whine and whimper. Eolande must never know....she must never see the markings! They looked like some freaky tattoos or something! And.....what was brushing her le--OH GOD! That's a tail! She shrieked in horror as she watched the fur bristle, reflecting her emotions. "This is so not right!" Mark's perfectly nicely tanned skin was ruined! She bet even her face had those weird markings.....this was so not good.
After the blue light flashed Mark found her body again moving before she could think, leaping onto the wounded furry thing claws first. She didn't even realize what she'd done till she felt the warmth of the creature surrounding her fingers on each hand. When she realized she had rather brutally murdered yet another of them she shrieked again as she leaped away from it. Something was SO wrong with her body!
Mark had yet to realize her reaction time had been diminished, her body took notions of 'Need to kill this' milliseconds after she thought them. Her body had taken to reacting based on instinct rather than cautious thought...of course not realizing this she kept far back from Nicolas and Indigo, her tail curling between her legs and ears remaining flat against her head. She was afraid one of them would be her next victim and she really would rather not have to explain to Nathan why his brother's heart was no longer in his chest.

So another thing was dead. What were those things? Why couldn't she attack like that? And that blue light... was that the lady or... Indigo looked behind her at Nico, finally, and squeaked, totally startled by the boy who... wasn't he in a wheel chair a moment ago? And holy hell, was he... no way...
She shook the thoughts away. No fair though! Kitty cat could maul things with her claws, and the formerly crippled boy shot lasers! Indigo wrung her hands together, miffed that she seemed to be useless. Well, not useless she supposed, but, not really needed in a fight. She'd be needed after fights for sure. This was totally like the game she had been in last night. She had partied with a agi- meat shield, which the cat girl filled the roll of nicely, and a newbie mage... like the boy. And she'd been playing her cleric character... so maybe...?
No, first things first. "What are those things? How many of them are there?" She was asking not only herself, the two strangers with her, and the pink lady, but asking the world at large. She didn't want there to be a lot, though being a magical girl could be pretty neat, right?

Nicholas watched as the blue light shot out form the feather. There was more to this then just being able to walk. There were other things...things he could do. Nicohlas looked at the feather in his hand, then back up to where Mark was finishing tearing the creature apart. His little heart was still pitter pattering as quickly as rain upon the pavement during a storm. Carefully he took another step. There was such a thrill in just doing that. There seemed like this wonderful haze surrounding his thoughts. Like the sun had burned so brightly that it caused his entire body to continue hold onto it's heat well after the time in which it had set. Yet..sun and heat did not seem like a proper description of what he felt, now that he really thought on it. He felt so cool and calm. Nicohlas looked to Mark...she seemed to be more overwhelmed by her change then he was. What did she mean? A freak? "Your not..." He started to try and calm her, but with how she seemed to almost be cringing and backing away he decided to just stop where he was.
Nicohlas looked towards Indigo. She really did look like she was right out of a fantasy game. Her boots and outfit looked fantastic. It was something he only dreamed of being able to sew! Nicohlas twirled the feather between his fingers uneasily and found the motion strangely calming. "I..I don't know." He answered honestly, then turned to look at the pink lady.
"Where did they come from?" He found himself echoing Indigo's questions. His eyes fell down to his legs and something shifted on his back. Curious, Nicohlas turned his head a little and gave a small jump. "I...feathers...back...how?" Oh that was a clear sign of intelligence wasn't it? Mark had a tail and ears...and he was shocked to have..wings? Carefully Nicohlas spread the feathered appendages up and outwards with a mystified expression. "Mark!!! How am I going to explain these to my brother? He get's upset if I come home wearing a different shirt then what he last saw me in!"

"Your BROTHER?!" Mark shrieked, eyes still wide, tail bristled, and ears slumped. "I have TWO brothers that will see me AND--" she broke off, her voice rising in pitch as she spoke. What of Eolande? What if Eolande saw her and thought she looked like a freak? What if she accidentally attacked Eolande or one of her brothers? Or more importantly Eolande? Her brothers could hold their own at least, if she accidentally attacked one she was sure they at least stood a chance of holding her off till she caught a grip of herself....but Eolande was so...frail and gentle. Ugh, she didn't even know why Eolande was on her list of top five important people...they really bonded as friends, but why did she care so much what Eolande thought? She prided herself in NOT caring about what others thought of her!
Mark slumped to the ground, crouching and winding her blood soaked fingers into her blond hair. Her tail curled between her legs, seeming only to mock her by reminding her what a freak she looked like. "I....I didn't even mean to kill those things..." she whined, her voice trembling as she spoke, "my....my body just....reacted."
Aphrodite looked briefly at the blond with her cute little mental break down before shutting her out and looking at the other two. "Most likely that's the last," she said thoughtfully. "However....how should I know how many there are?" she chuckled, smiling sweetly between the two. "They usually travel in small groups so you should be fine." She walked over to examine the first chompa, almost admiring the holes clean through it. They had pretty tough skin....not bad.
"And stop worrying about your siblings, you'll change back when you're ready or when you run out of energy," she added, waving a hand dismissively, the reassurance seemed to fall on at least one set of deaf ears however. "Anyway, those are chompas. Kids like you can get powers....but it's up to you how you use them, some choose to side with Thief and she gives them powers, she also controls those....I'm sure you'll meet her some day," she said with a smile. The woman pulled out a pocket watch. "Oh my, would you look at the time!" she said in faux shock. The watch shut with a snap as it returned to one of the many folds in her clothing. "If you have any other important questions you best make them quick....I am a truly important woman," she purred.

So... they could change out of this costumed form when they wanted? It really was like the comics she read! There were so many questions running through Indigo's mind right now, she couldn't even think to ask anything. But she wanted to know how long they could stay transformed, how many others like them were there? Would they all fight together? Or...
"Who's Thief? Is she... like... a badguy that we are trying to stop? She's giving other kids powers and sends those things after other people?"

Despite his concern, seeing Mark freaking out seemed to calm Nicohlas some. Seeing someone clearly in a distressed situation brought his own internal concerns into a sort of perspective. Nico took a few steps towards Mark, though the thrill at merely walking seemed to overwhelm him. Nico looked down at his feet for a moment, then back up. He heard Indigo's string of questions following Aphrodite's small verbal nudge. Yes...he should ask questions shouldn't he. All Nico could do that...was walk over towards the pink haired girl. Instead of asking Aphrodite anything...Nicohlas attempted to lean in and grab her in a hug. "Thank you." He whispered softly while fighting the tears from flowing to his eyes.

Unlike the other two; questions for Aphrodite were last on her mind. Unless it was how to control herself. Her mind seemed to shut out her thoughts to replace the space with instincts and registering new senses. She could smell and hear everything she couldn't before, her muscles twitched in response to every unexpected sound as if her body wanted to investigate them, she could even feel her ears instinctively perk in the direction of the new sounds....it was all too much.
Her clawed hands dug more furiously into her scalp. As if her body killing things of its own volition wasn't enough....the overload of impulses and senses was giving her a migraine. It was too much to take in all at once, like a hammer to her brain or something. Every sound was like a jackhammer, every scent was like a bottle of perfume to the face...even her eyes felt more in focus.
"Thief is...." she broke off to think a moment. "She's like me I suppose....except instead of awakening children who can help others she would rather awaken those that can cause trouble. The three of you have the potential to help others and protect those that need it....." she glanced at Mark and smirked a little. "When she settles down a little she'll be the same. Her instincts are simply controlling her body more than her conscious thoughts, she'll get used to it."
When Nicohlas hugged her she saddened a little. "This isn't a permanent cure," she said gently, placing a soft hand on his head. "When you return to normal you'll be back where you were.....but any time you transform you'll be like this...I'm sorry that I can't fix any complications myself."

"So we really are like superheros." Indigo mused. "Total super powers and helping the innocent." She smiled as the winged boy hugged the lady, but felt her heart break a little when she heard that the boy would be in a chair again when he wasn't in this form. That was so sad! She sighed, watching them a moment before looking to the kitty girl who was crouching on the ground.
"... Did you hear that? You're going to be ok." She hesitated trying to get closer to her. "Oh! Those things that attacked. What are they? They weren't like animals, right? I mean, they weren't like any I'd ever seen... The were so pink." It was like they weren't even real things. They looked more like vicious muppets then animals. Muppets with teeth... and blood. If they were bad, getting rid of them was good, right? Like the monsters from cartoons that the super heros had to kill.

Nicohlas...or rather Seraphim, found his eyes moving towards Mark. She looked like she was in pain. His joy became mingled with a sense of guilty concern. "You are sure she will be okay? Why is she having a harder time then us?" he asked with concern. He didn't feel any sort of pain and had not reacted at all the way Mark had. Of course, he was still feeling that stunned and wonderful sensation that had come with being able to merely stand.
His eyes lifted under the feel of Aphrodite's hand on his head. Hearing her apologize, and explaining that his ability to walk would soon be lost when he transformed back was sadly sobering. His very wings seemed to droop a little along with his face. "I...I understand." He murmured softly. "So...we are supposed to help people? Just like everyday help?" He glanced towards Indigo as he considered her own question. "That thing was very scary. Where did it come from?"

Aphrodite's eyes trailed over to Mark and her lips pursed. What a drama queen!
"Alright, think of it like this right?" She pointed to Indigo before she continued, "your outfit changed and nothing hurt, right? That's normal," she turned to look at Nicohlas, "you grew wings and your legs work, neither of which hurt but most likely felt weird. Her body is just getting used to her changes, it's more a sense of confusion and sensory overload. Her body has taken attributes from a subspecies of big cat and as thus things like instincts take over, her hearing, eyesight, sense of smell and taste have all become closer to that of an animal. See where this is going? She'll be fine." She waved a dismissive hand in Mark's direction.
Poor thing. To loose his legs at such a young age.... "Bear in mind, any time you transform you'll just have to put up with working legs and even these silly things," she said, putting a hand on one of his wings. "And I never said that you could only transform when you help people, what you do with your powers is for you to decide. You can spend as much time in this form as your body can stand if you want."
She chuckled softly at their assumptions. Well, chompas did have a unique look, most humans did like to try to rationalize things like that. "Chompas are creatures that live only to eat, and they will eat anything. You can use your powers to try to hunt them down, you can try to find others like you and form teams, you can stop petty crimes if that's how you want to use your powers." She placed a delicate finger to her lips and smiled, "Just try not to let them go to waste, right?"
