I'm in Jazz band and having to learn the trombone. I only know 2 spots 1 & 3. Anyone have some ways to help me?

well half way between 1 and 3 is 2 and the rest are close to the same amount away i was once told the each position is 6 and 1/2 inches away (may not be true) but really every trombone is different you will have to slightly change your position to get the notes in tune i hope this helps

Ok. Here are some positions.
1st: Slide all the way in.
2nd: An inch or two after 1st.
3rd: An inch or two before 4th.
4th: About even with the bell. (varies depending on bell).
5th: Inch or two after 4th.
6th: Between 5th and 7th
7th:About as far out as you can get it w/o removing the slide.
