"Quite right," he said, apologetically. Rorret was no fool. He knew perfectly well the dangerous game he was playing, and that one slip of the tongue, one word spoken to the wrong wolf, and his life would be forfeit.
But he had no intention of allowing his tongue to slip.
"Oh, we're only a band of wolves." he said, dismissively. "We don't seek actively to swell our rank, unless...an opportunity were to arise."
He shrugged, nonchalant, and then slowly peered over his shoulder at her, eyes mismatched. "I believe I told you, that my mother abandoned myself and my brother? She was quite satisfied with our sisters, had no use for a pair of...useless males."

"So you are not a true pack then. Simply a group of males that live together without the influence of females." What an odd thing. Well not completely odd, it was quite a bit like her own pack. Ignoring the few slaves they had they were in a sense just a large group of females living together. They had a deeper meaning to life, they were warriors and lived to serve the Queen, but if you ignored that then they really lived simple lives together.
Brow raised at the mention of only wishing to expand their ranks if the opportunity arose. "Is that why you came to find me? To seize an opportunity?" There was a small hint of amusement in her voice but her face remained neutral.
"Yes you mentioned that last time we met. Don't blame her really, why keep something that was of no use to you?" If she ever had pups and any were male she would get rid of them, much like how her own mother had gotten rid of her brothers - well all but one of them. "My own mother abandoned my brothers. I was the only one she cared for."

"Did she?" He asked, good-naturedly, temporarily ignoring her previous question. "And I suppose you, given the choice, would do the same?"
He turned away from her, going back to his wandering. He had wandered through this area previously, and knew that he was making his way away from the pack, to a fairly secluded place.

"Yes she did. She say no reason to keep them around." Azalea rarely spoke of her brothers, in fact this was the first time she has talked of them in quite some time. If mother ever caught her doing so she would receive a beating for even acknowledging those inferior siblings. "If put in that situation yes I think I would."
Of course she hoped that if she did ever have pups that she would be able to skip the shame that had befallen her mother and more recently Varia and have a male free litter. "You never answered my question." She pointed out as she followed beside him. "Did you seek me out to seize an opportunity?" Perhaps she would let him, like it or not she had her mother blood within her and that made her wish for a males company every now and then. Was that not why she had started venturing out of the pack a few months ago?

He paused, meeting her eyes. His expression was serious and calculating. "I sought you out because you intrigued me," he said, and that was completely honest -- she did fascinate him. Then again, considering she was the only female he had ever known as an adult, perhaps it was par for the course. "But if there is an opportunity to be seized, I would be a fool not to do so."
He looked over her. She really was quite lovely. He wondered, sometimes, why it was that the Brothers eschewed the company of females. But, then, when she spoke he thought he could understand quite well.
It was of no matter to him, however. Rorret had no time or heart to waste on emotion.

Azalea brought her paws to a stop. They had traveled far enough away from her home pack that she believed they would be safe and uninterrupted. "And what do you find about me that is so intriguing?" There had to be more than him being just intrigued. While she was certain he had very little previous encounters with females she had a hard time believing a male found her interesting. She had always been taught they were stupid mindless creatures that needed to be told what to do or they would stand around all day.
Rolling onto her haunches her tail curled around her paws. Now that he had grown since their last meeting she could appreciate him a bit more. Ears perked forward at his next words. So he wouldn't pass up a chance if one was presented to him. Well he was of decent build, coloration wasn't bad and he seemed to have a bit more life to him than the slaves in the pack. Perhaps she would present him with an opportunity. Oh my god where did that thought come from? Azalea gave her head a bit of a shake to attempt to clear her thought. This was no time to be ogling him like a piece of tantalizing meat.
"Are you a fool Rorret?" She casually asked and then somewhat regretted it. Was she seriously selling herself to this male she barely knew? Maybe she was, so far she hadn't really found a reason not to. A small pit formed in her stomach when she realized how much like her mother she truly was. It both disgusted and excited her.

"You carry yourself with confidence, but there is an anger burning behind your eyes, like a fire is waiting inside of you to be extinguished -- or to burn out and consume you," he said, a bit bluntly.
He saw the way she looked at him, and he was pleased -- distantly, perhaps, as though she were looking at someone else and he were merely witnessing her. But, nevertheless, he could tell she was interested, and that made success in his endeavor much more likely.
"A fool?" Fool. Loof. Aloof. Aloof, yes, but a fool...he thought not. "I do not think I am, but no fool does. That is your judgment."

"Everyone has an inner fire, but only some know how to use it." She may not be a very worldly wolf but she had seen enough out of her pack to know that there were those who embraced their inner fire, those who fought it and those who didn't seem to know it was there. It was a zest for life, something that could be trained in and out of you. She kept her fire burning bright, though it was mostly fueled by her anger towards her mother.
Rising to her paws Azalea walked toward Rorret, her movements were precise. Eyes looked upon him with mild interest. She came close to him, very close and looped around behind him. Pausing once she reached his other side she whispered in his ear. "Perhaps you are a fool...perhaps I like fools." Then she slipped away, though let her tail very gently caress him as she did. Turning around Azalea faced him once more, head tipped to the side as she regarded him. "Even fools have their purposes. So tell me fool, just what is it that you can do for me?"

And the mouse, so deftly and innocently, creeps its way into the paws of the cat.
Rorret stood quite still as she circled him, his thoughts buzzing with excitement -- even delight -- at the success of his unfolding plan. The honor, it would earn him, if he saw it through to fruition. The thrill of the challenge...and the danger.
"I think you know," he said, his voice low. He caught her eye, and his smile was devious, eyes sparkling with amusement. He shifted his weight, just slightly, to press his body near to hers, muscles flexing beneath his pelt. He was hardly a powerful wolf, but he was well-built from his own hard training regimen.

His voice, his touch made her fur stand on end. Suddenly she couldn't think of why the Sisters would want to keep males from the pack, not when they were so pleasant to be around. Azalea nipped at his nose and flicked her tail. "Then why don't you show me?" She turned and padded off, leading Rorret towards an abandoned den they had passed during their walk letting the darkness of it's small space consume them.
