My PMS is really bad! I cry for stupid reasons, I get moody and depressed, I get irritated easily and snap at people when I normally wouldn't snap. I get tired really easily. My skin breaks out like crazy; excpet for this month since my allergist gave me a sample of this acne gel - you know your acne is really bad when your allergist tries to help you clear it up. And the abdominal pain is hell. I feel like I'm being stabbed in the stomch when I ovulate, and don't even get me started on my cramps, especially when I go unmedicated.
So, any tips? I know excercise helps, but it's difficult to make time for with my current schedule. I take a generic version of Aleve, which seems to make a difference with my cramps. I really want to go on the pill. For hormonal reasons mostly, but it wouldn't hurt to be on it once I start having sex, or if I get raped. But my mom won't let me go on it, because I'm still adapting to Concerta, which is hard with my low tolerance for stimulants. But also because it would give me the "green light" and she's really trying to push abstinence. It's like she doesn't trust me to make responsible decisions!

Talk to your doctor and your parents, and see if you'd be able to go on the Pill, or a similar form of birth control. The hormones in the Pill often help females who have a heavy period, bad skin, and other similar problems.

I agree with Niko. The pill should help a good deal.
I was actually talking to a male friend of mine about this very subject this morning. His girlfriend was PMSing and freaking out. She gets bad mood swings and had spent about two hours yelling at him because he tripped and hit a table, knocking over the phone (nothing broken).
We decided that the world would be a much better place if people were all castrated or spayed (and we had factory babies a la Brave New World). No more hormones making us all crazy wink

I've never ever had any PMS, I feel sorry for you. I've heard the Pill helps, but don't you have to be an adult to take it? How old are you?

SexxyGoddess I've never ever had any PMS, I feel sorry for you. I've heard the Pill helps, but don't you have to be an adult to take it? How old are you? That depends on where you live. Most places (I should hope) would let you take it as soon as you start your period, especially if there are medical reasons such as PMS (rather than as a birth control). I don't get PMS in the moody/cramps sense, but I go get sick when I have my period (tummy aches and trouble digesting food. I normally eat very little for that week).

PMS sucks, but there's way worse PMS out there such as PMDD. The pill really does help, even just the low hormone ones.
Really, the only thing that is going to make that happen is you talking to your parents and your doctor, no other way around that. Sit down and really talk with her about it.

PMS is terrible. I'm actually happy I get a break from it for 9 months haha...
The only tips I can give you are: Don't drink a lot of caffeine, a heating pad is your best friend, if you do get out of hand crying or being bitchy, let people know. Say "Hey, I'm PMS-ing, f**k off" j/k... but seriously, if people know you're not being a b***h for the hell of it, they'll leave you alone.

Stop using weird shortcuts Why do you expect that everyone knows what's PMS???
What is it anyway?
Pills are actually not good for you. These hormons harm your health care. You should use other methods of conception.

I have a couple friends that have this issue. One went on the pill and she's perfectly fine now. The other went to her doctor and was percribed powerful pain killers. She's fine too except for the fact every now and then she gets a little high off the pills. From my personal experience with PMS, I take Pamprin. It get's rid of cramps and some of the irritablity. When I feel like I'm going to snap at someone. I warn them the way Aysteria said. Then they just back away and don't talk to me.

Are you purposefully being rude here? PMS stands for Premenstral Syndrome. I typed that into Google and that wasn't too hard to find out. It's a VERY common and understood acronym. Your comment about pills and hormones, please back that up with FACT, not rudeness and opinions. Much like anything out there, there is risks and benefits, and whatdoyouknow? Sometimes those benefits outweigh the risks for some people, that's a personal decision for each woman to make between herself and her doctor. Oh and the proper term isn't conception. You mean contraceptive.
