Trigger objects are items believed to "trigger" paranormal activity. Whether it be bullet casings, period clothing, etc.
Have you ever used any trigger objects? If so what? What do you think would make a good trigger object? What can you use on a budget?

My next investigation is going to be at Valley Forge and on the way we are stopping at a place that sells loose leaf tobacco.

What exactly is Valley Forge and what's the significance of the leafless tobacco?

Valley Forge is the place that General George Washington had the Continental army encamped during the winter of 1777 - 1778 during the American Revolution. They did not fight a battle there but because of wounds from previous battles and because of disease around 2000 men died there. According to a list by America's Haunted Tours it is ranked number 8 on America's most haunted battlefields (even though it is kindof an exception since it is war related but not battle related).
As for the tobacco, loose leaf tobacco is tobacco that has not been rolled into a cigarette, it's just loose. It's for people who want to roll their own cigarettes or for pipes or whatever. It works well for investigations in older places because throughout history tobacco has been popular and people would have rolled their own or put it into a pipe. So it would trigger activity based off the idea that it is something they took pleasure in during life.

Oh ok, well that ruins my idea. I was going to say if there were more "recent" ghosts, then a particular brand of leafless tobacco might achieve better paranormal results
