"If it makes you feel any better, you're more 'normal' than I am. I doubt I could really live a 'normal' life at any point," Shun said a little flatly. Shaking his head at the thought, he gently handed her the box.
"Don't think about that... nothing happened and that's what matters.."
Regardless of how he felt exactly, he still wanted Mitsu to be safe and happy if possible.

She had wondered if he had pieced together what she was now, but apparently he hadn't. She wanted to tell him, tell him how being normal wasn't possible anymore. Her days were numbered and at the end a man with a wicked smile would be waiting for her leading her down the path of madness...but she couldn't bring herself to tell him. She had burdened him enough. Instead she smiled faintly, "Y..yeah, nothing happened." Not this time thankfully. Though an incident had nearly been in the making.
"You're the best friend anyone could have, Shun. I hope you realize that. I really hope....you can be happy someday. I'll do what I can to make sure that you are. You've gone through so much, you deserve it." Closing the lid of the music box the tune came to a soft halt before she placed the box in its previous place by the head of her bed. It sat neatly next to Ludwig, her stuffed panda.

At her words, Shun's eyes softened, though there was still that touch of sadness within them. It meant a lot to him to hear that, but for some things, such as whether he deserved it or not, he didn't really believe. Still, he tried to smile for her for it. It took a little while, but a rather faint one flickered onto his features.
"Thanks.. And.. I hope the same for you... You're more amazing than what you give yourself credit for."
Looking towards the music box for the moment, his eyes shifted down towards the floor again.
"If.. you need anything... and I mean anything.. please let me know," he said quietly.

Mitsu smiled a bit more seeing Shun put in an attempt. It would be a while before things would settle back into place, but it was still something right? They were still friends and that's what mattered above all. "Only if you'll do the same."

Nodding slowly to Mitsu, the faint smile lingered a little longer before eventually fading.
"Alright," he said quietly, "Um.. try to get some rest then.. and.. I guess I'll do the same."
With that said, he looked at her a little more, before quietly stepping out to head back to his room.
