"Ah, nothing permanent. On occasion it might make people feel a bit funny." It really was gnawing at him, having to flub the truth. But it was only a little mangling, Edgar told himself. Not so much a lie as it was... diluted honesty? Ohhh, that still sounded bad. He was pulled from his pondering as an arm looped through his, and he blinked down at his and Imogen's linked elbows. He hand't expected her to take his arm, but it was actually sort of pleasant to walk side-by-side with someone. Edgar looked over at Imogen, returning her smile with a small one of his own and leading them away from the stage.

"Oh, well, I feel just fine," Imogen said as she leaned her head against his shoulder and walked beside him, "Amazing, actually." She felt better than she had ever felt in her entire life, and as they walked, an idea formed in her head. It made her nervous, though, so it took a few moments to convince herself to actually do it. Once she did, she lifted her head from his shoulder, stopped walking, and stood on her tippy-toes to place a kiss on the shrew's cheek.
Just then, her thoughts became a bit blurry for a moment. She lowered herself back to her feet and looked confused for a moment. When she realized what she'd just done, she blushed a little. Her actions and previous thoughts had been quite a bit out of character. As she wondered what coulde have possibly coe over her, she remembered what they had been talking about and looked back up to Edgar saying, "What kind of potion?" Her previous twitterpated demeanor was obviously gone now, but a soft blush still remained, if only from embarrassment.

((Oh man, I apologize for the late reply. We've just hit our finals week in school for us, so things have been really busy with me))
"Ahh, that's good, then." Circumstances aside, Edgar was actually rather enjoying the stroll through Mossflower. The weather was fair and his company was agreeable, potion-driven smitten demeanor aside. Imgoen seemed to be doing well at keeping her wits, the Great Tree knew some bests near lost their minds with desire from just a mouthful of the potion. He was infinitely glad he himself had only ended up acting like a stammering, lovesick youngling. Even under the potion's influence he was barely so bold as to hold paws with the mouse at his side.
Though perhaps she was a bit bolder than him. Edgar made a little startled noise at the kiss, momentarily letting go of Imogen's arm to press a paw to his cheek. When she next spoke, her voice sounded much clearer than the dreamy tone she's been speaking with earlier. The shrew ducked his head again, his own face flushing with a sense of shame at not having spoken the truth sooner.
"A, um. Well, a love p-potion, actually. It l-looks like quite a few of the audience were accidentally dosed, you and m-myself included." He nodded back toward the dispersing crowd, where some beasts were still lingering in confusion while others called out declarations of undying love. "It appears as though it's w-worn off for most folks now, though."

Imogen listen as he explained, looking over to the others when he nodded toward them. "Oh," she said, just staring for a moment, but then she began to laugh as she watched the ones still under it's effect calling out and trying to woo the ones they thought they loved. "Oh, wow," she said, still laughing a bit, "What a mess."
When her laughing died down, she said, "I wonder how all of this happened, though. It doesn't seem like someone would do it intentionally." After a moment of thought, she shrugged and said, "I suppose it doesn't matter. I'm just glad it wasn't permanent." Noticing how her last statement could be taken as an insult, she quickly tried to fix it by saying, "Not because I don't like you or anything. I mean, I don't like you, we just met, but we could maybe be friends? You seem okay and I wasn't myself a moment ago." All of which was spoken in a faster pace as she tried to explain.
((That's perfectly okay. And this post is short. ;;; But, I drew Edgar and Imogen together a couple days ago. c: click ))

Relief washed over Edgar at the sound of Imogen's laughter, and his shoulders dropped a bit as that nervous spring of tension unwound from his spine. Thank the Tree, she wasn't upset with him. He smiled faintly at her in return, the corners of his mouth still weighed down with the stress of the previous moment. "It's... quite a commotion, yes." He tilted his head as he watched he effects begin to fade from the majority of the crowd.
"Perhaps. Someone must have been a bit careless with a love potion...maybe whoever was climbing that tree earlier," he said, humming thoughtfully as he recalled the tree in question the pair of them had been investigating beforehand. How else would so much of the crowd end up under the influence of impressed affection? He blinked a few times at the sudden rushed explanation the mouse stumbled over, his smile turning reassuring as he shook his head.
"Oh! No, no, I understand, really. I wasn't myself when we first met, either. It would be delightful if we could spend some actual time together, though." The play he had come to see obviously wasn't going to be preformed, but he still had the whole day ahead to wander around Mossflower. Makandriel seemed to have vanished to peruse her own interests for now. "Ah, I have the rest of the day free to wander the town, if you'd like to come with me?"

Imogen looked toward the tree that they had inspected earlier, nodding and saying, "that would definitely explain it," with a smile. She liked having an answer. If she didn't, she knew it would bug her later, most likely as she was trying to go to sleep one night.
When Edgar said that he hadn't been himself earlier, Imogen looked slightly confused. She knew that the love potion had dripped on him, but he hadn't acted like the others, proclaiming their undying love, or like her, clinging to her Edgar(her thoughts while under the influence of the potion still made her blush a little from embarrassment). He hadn't really seemed much different than he was now, but maybe she just hadn't noticed. She had been pretty caught up in trying to figure out what had dripped on him.
His offer for her to wander the town with him brought her out of her thoughts and put a smile on her face. "It just so happens that I have the rest of the day free, too, since the show has been... interrupted," she said, glancing over at the show and stifling another laugh. She did, kind of, wish that she could have actually watched the show, but perhaps she could another day. Plus, she could now spend the day with a possible friend where before she would have been alone and headed straight back to Woodhaven, unless she got distracted of course. "Where to?" she asked, grasping the strap of her bag instead of his arm, but looking to him with a smile. This would be the start of a good friendship. She just knew it.
