[sorry, short start, didn't want to keep you waiting for ever]
Abeya sat crouched on a log, tapping her paws on her legs anxiously. She'd heard wonderful things about Bale's music and was chomping at the bit for a chance to hear him for herself. There was such excitement in the air, such joy and...and something else. Drip, Drip...Her ear twitched as she heard the sound. Glancing around she saw something strange drip down near her. Unsure of what it may be, she stood up to move out of the way, the strange liquid plopping onto the newly vacated log. After looking a bit closer, she shrugged it off and moved to find a different seat.

Deidre hadn't a clue about who this Bale guy was, but she was in the area and had heard that there was free entertainment. That was enough for her! She could do with a little fun, whether that was enjoyable music or something to laugh at and make fun of. So, she sat and waited for the show to begin.
She was watching some moths fly by overhead when something dripped into her eyes. "Ohgadwhatowowow," she sputtered, furiously rubbing and blinking. As her vision cleared of the red haze, she saw walking towards her a goddess among mice. Her heart skipped a beat. Her soft dark fur, her gorgeous golden eyes, the confident sway of her walk, the bright colors of her garb... everything about her was beautiful, beautiful.
Deidre stood up and strode forward, sure of purpose. She grabbed the other mouse's hand and stared into her eyes as she said, "You're a lovely lady and I want you."5

Abeya halted her steps and looked at the mouse in front of her. Had she not been holding her hand, Abeya may have thought she was speaking to someone else. She began to glance around to see if maybe someone was playing a joke. "Me?...Really?...Lovely?" She wondered if maybe this friendly, yet odd stranger was perhaps drunk, but at a closer glance she appeared, and smelled, to be completely sober. Being as naive as she was, Abeya asked curiously, "You want me? For what?...Do I know you?" The poor mouse began to wrack her brains to try and figure out who this other mouse was and what in the world was going on.

This was going more smoothly than Deidre could have dared hope! The gorgeous dark mouse hadn't had a nay said to her yet, so she assumed that meant everything was yea, yea, yea. Deidre smiled, perhaps a little eerily, eyes glinting with mischief and want. "Yes, lovely! A fine, beautiful young girl."
And oh, such innocence! Almost too priceless to end, but Deidre followed her desires as a tumbleweed followed the wind. "For the moment? A little fun, in private. Or public," she said, waggling her eyebrows. "if that's yer fancy. After that..." Deidre drew the statement out into silence. How odd! There'd never been an 'after that' before. She was certainly pretty enough to merit it, however. "And, no, we haven't met a'fore. But, I intend fer us to be rather intimately acquainted, and rather soon."4

Abeya had never been good at accepting compliments, always too modest for her own good, but she couldn't help but blush at all the flattery. "Oh, no, I'm not...thank you...but...no" She shook her head and looked at the ground, kicking her feet in the dirt. This mouse was so nice, if a bit forward, and it made her feel sort of warm and funny inside.
"Fun? Well, I suppose..." She cut herself off as she saw the mouses expression change. Her ear began to twitch and she began to have second thoughts. "Oh...well...I ought to be finding a seat...Bale could be starting at any minute...I'd hate to miss it..." She pulled her paw from the other mouses grasp and began to turn away and head for yet another new seat.

Deidre's paw found Abeya's again. she wasn't letting go that easily! "Oh, the show! A'course we can stay an' watch the show first. Got an empty seat here next t'mine," she said, unceremoniously shoving a songbird in the chest to vacate said seat. No, no, no, she thought, do not let this fine specimen get away!3

"He...Hehehe...Uh...All right..." Abeya forced a sweet, but definitely uncomfortable, laugh as she failed to escape the situation. She sat down, but kept her eyes active, trying to spot a way to get away. In the mean time she might as well try and be nice, but not too nice, to this clearly determined mouse. "Um...so...you never said, what's your name?" She bit her lip and continued to look around the crowd, "My name is Abeya...Have you...Have you seen Bale perform before? This is my first time..." She fidgeted with the big blue button on her tunic and shifted uncomfortably on her new seat.

Entirely oblivious to Abeya's discomfort, Deidre sat with her and slipped an arm around her shoulder. She laughed, a short bark, and said, "No, I suppose I didn't, in all the excitement! My name is Deidre," and she stuck out her paw as she continued, "pleasure to make your acquaintance." Maybe miss Abeya would stop fidgeting if she kept proper and polite...
She thought as she shook hands, and replied, "I haven't seen him before, but I suppose he's gotta be good, to get this kinda crowd. An' if he ain't, well, guess we'll just haveta get our kicks by throwin' rocks at 'im!" Deidre laughed again.2

"Deidre? Oh, well, that's a very nice name...um, yes...pleasure to meet you as well." Had she been wearing a watch, she would have been glancing at it, When will the show finally start? Where on Earth is Bale? Has Mossflower become Loony Central? "Throw rocks!?"Abeya raised an eyebrow at Deidre, then let out a tiny sighed of relief, having finally spotted a way to get out of this. Putting up a front of anger and disappointment, she stood up and put her hands on her hips, "Well that's not nice...not at all...why, I don't think I could ever be friends with someone who threw rocks." She huffed and lifted her nose in the air, putting on a real show. Maybe being disapproving and snobby would turn Deidre off, or at least confuse her enough to let Abeya slip away. She could always see Bale another day.

Deidre's eyes widened and her back stiffened, shocked and dismayed. She'd offended her love interest! Oh, crap, time to backpedal!
"Aww, no, babe, don't be that way! I was just kiddin'," She said hastily, practically groveling before Abeya. "If I was gonna throw something, I'd throw something a lot softer, anyways!"1

Seeing Deidre grovel actually made Abeya feel sorry, which was quite surprising to her. She frowned, Oh...well, she is nice...I shouldn't be so hasty...Just because she is forward doesn't mean she is weird...And she does have such lovely eyes! Abeya frowned and sighed, "Oh, no, I was just fooling...I'm not mad...Just making a joke." She sat back down next to Deidre, nudging her slightly with her elbow, "I'm not going...besides, these are great seats...If the show ever starts." She gave Deidre a smile, lifting her arm to give her a sort of a half hug, "Do you want to hang out after the show?"

0 Deidre smiled again as she resumed waiting with Abeya, but suddenly she was dizzy as all get-out. She blinked rapidly, her eyes crossing, and regained her composure as Abeya finished speaking.
Deidre looked at Abeya again, confusion written plain on her face. The feeling she had before... it was gone, and suddenly the mouse before her was plain and mortal once again. Thinking back over her actions this evening, a dark blush ran its way up her neck, and could be seen through the thinner fur on her face.
She ran a palm over her face, stopping over her closed eyes. "I think...I think I ain't been myself, this evenin', fer whatever reason." She took a deep breath. "I'd... like to, to apologize," she finally said, "fer my uncouth actions just now. I dunno why the heck I've been doin' what I've done." She leveled a sulky glare at Abeya and warned her, "Don't take that lightly, mind. I don't go handin' out apologies like they're nothin'."
She thought for a moment on the last question, though. She said, "If you don't mind, I suppose I could make it up to you after the show. maybe take you to a shop and get you something nice, for your trouble. 'Sides," she smiled weakly, "ain't often I get out to Mossflower. May as well try an' make a friend while I'm here."

"Oh, no, You don't need to..." Abeya shook her head, about to tell Deidre that everything was just fine and no apology was necessary...but then she saw the look on her face. "Yes...Yes...Apology accepted. All is forgiven...Thank you." Well, that was strange...But I suppose you meet all sorts in Mossflower. "I like checking out the shops and stalls...that'll be really nice..." Abeya smiled inside, and out, Well, that's one disaster avoided...Hopefully the last one for a while. "Friends? Really? Me?...Yeah, we all can do with more friends..." She sighed and glanced up at the Tree, What a day!
[Finished...Unless you want to carry on]
