At my high school, the band is the most classy dressed group in the whole school. Better then quior and what ever else is out there. The boy's besket ball where fancy cloths, slacks, dress shirts and tie on the day of the game, but that is nothing compared to the bands.
We where black tux pants, white tux shirts, black tux vest and plac bow ties. the only thing we have to buy our self is the pants and shoes, the school provides every thing else. But that is mainly freshman bands. (that's what I am.) Girls have to where that too. But the upper bands where suits, or the same tux outfit, and the girls where really pretty black dresses. I want a dress, not a tux outfit.

Lucky. My band, we have to wear our marching band uniforms for band competitions in concert season. The stiff, wool uniforms. I would do almost anything to just wear a tux. Or a dress. I hate wearing my marching uniform to concert competitions. Luckily, it's my last year.

Hee hee, well you kind of lucky your self. My school doesn't even have a marching band. Not enough money. The 'poor' school get's all the donations, so my school is the actual poor one.

Heh, for concert band, we get to wear whatever we want as long as its formal and black/white. It's kind of interesting to see half of the boys wearing nice, stylish clothing while the other half wear the military shirt from our marching uniform over marching shoes and dress slacks xd . Luckily for us, though, the military shirt looks like the kind of shirt you'd wear under a business suit so we're not embarrassed or anything 3nodding .
As for the girls, they can wear everything from blouses and dress pants to polka dot dresses. I've even seen someone where a zebra-patterned dress. As I said before, as long as it's formal and black/white, we're good 3nodding . Heck, I usually go to a concert wearing a white polo shirt and black dress pants xp .

For our band, the guys are required to wear a tux, black bow tie, and black shoes (can be marching band shoes, since ours are black) The girls are required to wear a long black dress (before, we had to wear the same styled dress, but our BD has let us choose different styles last year) and nice shoes (he doesn't care, as long as they are street shoes, and we aren't at risk of tripping) Normally, I wear my black jacket (it normally goes with my "professional" outfit) over my dress, since the dress I chose has no sleeves, and my arms are pale. But if I had the choice, I would wear a tux. I do NOT like wearing dresses. At all.

At our school, the band used to wear white dress shirts and blak pants with a dark tie, and the girls wore all black skirts or slacks and black dress shirts, both wearing black clsoed toe dresss shoes. Well, last year it changed to everyone all black, and this year, annoyingly, girls are no longer allowed skirts.

I'm disappearing from here already......... At my school, we're trying to get the band director to order some custom lapel pins (School crest) for the senior band. Just so we can be identified from the junior band. We've had a couple of times where senior band got mixed up with junior band. Both senior band and junior band wear the same uniform. Black dress shirt, slacks, and dress shoes for the males. Black dress/gown, or dress shirt and skirt, and black heels/flats for the females.
......Perhaps I'll be gone without a trance soon

In our band, we don't separate by grades. Everyone is in the same concert group, which tends to get a lot of comments from judges about how loud we are whee . Actually, that's not really surprising considering that we also double up on drum parts whenever possible so that as many people as possible can plat one time mrgreen .

The boys in my band wear tuxes and the girls wear long black dresses. However, the dress changes EVERY YEAR, so it all looks mis-matched. Some have shiny long-sleeved dresses, some the older dress that was long sleeved and matte, some the newer, softer dress that's short-sleeved and has a funny neckline... I wish we would just settle on a standard dress! @_@

Competition dress in the daytime: Dress for girls, nice slacks and polo or something nice looking for the guys. However, this tradition has died. :s
Concert dress: Girls wear hideously long black dresses with ugly "sweetheart" necklines. Only pro about the dress: It never wrinkles. Ever. Guys just wear tuxedoes. During our Green Tie Gala, which is a showcase of the entire arts program at the school, all guys wear green bowties and some girls wear green ribbons in their hair.
