Yes, we have the Roleplay section. Le W00tness. Here is where all the RuroKen Rping will go on of course. Hopefullly, those who've never roleplayed before will jump in and have some fun learning how to with us! Don't worry, it's not hard at all. Anyways, onto what this thread is for.

**Due to the Fact that not Everyone may want to play in the same roleplays, and such. You can choose to be a different character, or certain characters may be played by different people in different rps. Please Check back to the Canon Thread to see who is playing who in what Roleplay**

~Rules~

ZOMG, More rules. I know, that sucks, but please, do bear with me. If we want this to run smoothly then we need this as well.

-No God moding/Powerplaying. No one likes that.
-Even though the character may not get along with another person's character, please be respectful to the player.
-Try to post at least once or twice a week. You don't want the other rpers to be hanging in limbo.
-Romance is allowed of course. ^_^ Do try to keep it at a pg-level though. I do not need to know that what Kaoru is doing to Kenshin behind closed door. No "Bow-chika-wow-wow" music for us.
-To add to that, this is a roleplay, so I don't expect everything to go as it would in the series. The characters don't NECESSARILY have to fall for the same as they would in the manga/anime. For all I know, you can make a EnishiixMegumi pairing. Just make sure it's okay with the person who is playing the other character. I will allow some Shonen and Shoujo ai, but it all depends. I'm still thinking on that.
-Keep the RuroKen Characters IN CHARACTER. Let's face it people, we will never see Shishio baking cookies for Yumi, nor will we see Kaoru go on a killing rampage. It just doesn't work.
-No Killing, unless consent with the other player. Fighting, though, is fine. Go crazy with it. This is suppose to be a Shonen series after all.
-You CAN play more than one character. Just leave some for the others!

~The Stories~

Story No. 1: Battousai and Rurouni Kenshin switch time plots, the Rurouni goes back to Tomoe times, Battousai Meiji time. Could he possibly save Tomoe, or would he let the same thing happen to go back to Kaoru? Will the past prevail, or the future? Kenshin as a whole could change in the balance, because only one Kenshin can exist...
-Story By Alyeth and Fallen Snow

Story No. 2Several years after the time of the Kenshingumi , Kenji Himura, son of Kenshin and Kaoru is the next in line to obtain the Sakabatou. However, things seem to be slightly more complicated than they thought. Tales of the legendary Kenshin Himura still live, and now, they want a taste of "The Legendary Battousai's Son". What will happen? Who are these new foes that plan to kill Kenji and create more havoc across Japan? Will they succeed? Or will Kenji and Yahiko show them the true power of the Sakabatou.
-Story By Alyeth and Taiyo

Story No.3 Kenji has grown to become a teenager who just can't seem to understand his father or why he does the things he does. He's left home, traveled to different parts of Japan, and has even searched out Hiko for training. However, nothing he does seems to help him understand, and he's come to the conclusion finally that his father is just a man without any real pride or responsibility. He returns home, disgusted with his what he's learned and could not understand, only to find that his father had come to visit them from his wandering. Immediately they get into a fight and Kenji leaves the house to cool off. He travels through the woods, late at night, when suddenly he comes across an unconscious youth that looks very familiar. He is Kenji's age and has bright red hair, a cross-shaped scar on his cheek, and two katanta's at his side. This is his father, from many years ago... Hitokiri Battousai.

Parody Story!
The members of the Oro-ed have been transported into the world of Rurouni Kenshin! What kind of madness will happen when the Oro-edgumi meet the Kenshingumi, Oniwanbanshuu, Juppongatana and Jinchuu? Who knows, but they sure aren't going to sit quiet and twiddle their thumbs. They're gonna make things as messed up as possible, whether they mean to or not. A great story for people who are just starting to roleplay!

~How To Roleplay~

Roleplaying, done the right way!

Generally, a good roleplay post will include a novel-like post. When I say novel-like, I don't mean horrendously long (as in 253 pages long), but like the content you find in one.

Example:
Instead of:
'It was a beautiful day.'
you could write:
'The sun was shining down on the land, and a pleasant breeze swept through, making trees rustle and blades of grass sway about.'
In the first one, it states dully what it was like. But in the second one, the reader can infer that 'It was a nice day.' Of course, sometimes it's better to make things simple, but not too simple. Just in the middle, kay? Of course, it's fine to have writers block. People get them all the time.

Now, when you start off, we don't expect you to be a pro. Start off small and work your way up. ^^ As a beginner, I expect something not to extravagent. As long as it brings the message across.

"That's true. I'm okay at the Shamisen, I guess. It's not my favourite instrument, but I still like watching others play it." Tsuyo replied, taking a bite of her sandwitch. "I really do like the koto, it's just been hard with that one song! I hope she doesn't expect us to learn it by tomorrow..."

Once you get better, you can have bigger posts like this:

Had Ayame yelled for one second more, Crei would've fallen out of his seat in fear that his head would have been bitten off. He had not expected that reaction in such an enormous magnitude. That... was scary. A few of the other soldiers looked at the Blue Ice Alchemist.

"Dude, what the hell did you say to her?"

Crei blinked for a moment and then sighed. "I... have no idea. Though I have a feeling I'll have to say sorry about it... women sometimes... just can't take a joke."

Once you get a hang of it, you can start adding more information like where your character is and how they interact with the enviroment.

Natsuko's flashlight continued to flash as she searched the upper part of the stairway. It was still very dark. No signs of anyone. More and more dressers and kimono boxes. Curiously, Natsuko decided to open one of the dressers and found a small wooden container saying 'herbs' on the side of it. She tilted her head slightly as she placed it inside a pouch lay on her waist. Her head then jolted up again as she heard the something run behind her; The pitter-patter of little feet. Natsuko looked back. Nothing there. She then heard it again. Her pale eyes looked around frantically. Still nothing. Suddenly, she sensed something... odd. She remembered feeling these now and then when she was younger, but they were never quite as strong, and she never payed attentioned to them.

Natsuko tensed up... it was behind her. Should she turn around? She wasn't quite sure. The fingers in her right hand moved slightly as she heard a small but very clear young voice.

Why are you here?

She gasped and then turned around quickly, but there was no one. There wasn't even a sign that there was someone. Except one thing.

Natsuko looked down when her foot shifted and hit something lightly. She bent down to get a closer look. It was a camera; a very old camera, by the looks of it. She then picked it up and played around with it in her hands. It looked as though as if it were still in working order. There was still film in it. She then lifted it up to her face and took a picture. The camera flashed and took a picture. "It works alright." she said to herself.

And if you really feel like you're up to it, you can be really descriptive and go nuts. Up to a point that is. This is definantly good.

Kenshin hastily closed his locker, twisting the lock numerous times securely, just to be sure. Already as he turned around students that he had never seen were filing in unorderly, looking aloof as ever as they cautiously surveyed new surroundings. They almost looked like minute little animals, eyes bulging and gripping their belongings as if the world was to end. He wasn't going to bother anyone, just a slightly quiet corner would be suitable since the bell wasn't to ring for another ten or so minutes. A wall by the lunchroom would suffice for now. Leaning up against it, he immediately saw swordsmen from the kendo club from last year, appearing as courageous as ever to intake more technique, more enthusiasm, more effort. And truly, Kenshin didn't mind teaching the craft that he found exhilarating. Teaching persons what he had abounded on his own craft could make them grow off of it, feed it and make it their own. Still, there was yet to be anyone who could lay a finger on him, make any sort of mark on him (except that cryptic cross shaped scar, which was not talked about from him) except the infamous Okashira. But what people didn't know was that the vice principal, Hiko Seijuro, was an awe-inspiring swordsman himself. But, thoughts aside of the Kendo club, violet orbs averted to a girl and a boy, squabbling endlessly. The girl had indigo hair tied in a ribbon, and was lithe yet slightly a threatening streak appeared somewhat on her features. The boy posessed spikey black hair, and was exceptionally tan, with a determined arrogant aura shrouding him. Interesting. Were they related? Kenshin then determined they weren't, after all, statistics were always right.

Kenshin then took out his schedule again, to verify everything on there was right. He then discovered that he made a fault, he didn't have Saitou... first period, at least. He found that he had History with a teacher named Natsura-Sensei... she seemed new. He'd never heard of her before. Placing it back into his bag, his eyes met with the two once more. They hadn't moved. For now, he just hoped that he could be in peace, no one coming up to him or attempting to battle him in the middle of the lunchroom. Think it's crazy? It's happened before. You should be wary if you are too known throughout a place, and that's all Kenshin's mind left it at. Brushing back a flame of a stubborn layer from his hair, he sighed. Not much else to do around here until the bell rang. Lately the school has been awfully bleak and dull, no events happening or people talking about anything with point as they walked past. Occasionally, he would see some girls looking at him and giggling as they skipped gleefully past, thinking they were so sneaky because he acted as if he hadn't seen them.

Sometimes a fellow swordsman from the Kendo club would come up to him and ask how he was doing, and that they looked forward to training with him again for a whole new year. At least some people had hostility towards others. Not that it mattered, Kenshin really could care less about the rude inept fools from the school, which was mostly the gangs and various shooting or two. That was just school life, now wasn't it? There was an awkward pause in the room, and it seemed that only he saw it, things basically froze for a fraction of a second, and that was verification that, as he picked up his bag and moved his back from the wall, the bell had finally rang. Heightened senses were an ideal companion in more than swordfighting you know.

Like I said though, we don't expect every post to be like this. A paragraph is usually good enough for people to work off of properly. I suggest a paragraph actually.

Made-up Characters

As we all know, made-up characters are often added to any roleplay. However, in this forum, we have some guidelines.

Such as:
-NO relations to the actual characters (i.e. Kenshin's brother, Kaoru's uncle, etc.) Unless it's with the consent the with other rper and it's believable. ^^;;
-NO mary-sues/gary-sues.
-Don't make your character perfect. Everyone has some flaws. Even perfect Hiko Seijuro does.
- Follow your description. Don't say your character has red hair, and then later on say they're blonde.
- BE ORIGINAL. :3

Follow these laws. Every time you don't, a kitty dies. Do it for the kitties. PLEASE.

A basic outline for a made-up character's profile would be like this:

Quote:

Gaia Name: -----
Character's Name: ---
Gender: ------
Age: --- (During Meiji or Edo?)
Appearance: ---- (Either a description or a picture)
Personality: ------
Alliance: -------- (Good, Bad, Neutral?)
Small Bio: --------
Weapons/Fighting Style: ---------- (Strengths, Weaknesses, etc)

Got it? Again, follow this so the kitties can live. :3
