The gold continued to glide a pout shadowing the glorious feel of wind in her wings and sun on her back. The point was to chase her not float around doing nothing. The gold considered doubling back and streaking towards them, but decided against a repeat performance of her earlier trick. Slowly she began to angle upwards and around, a long almost lazy spiral.

Seeing that Glith seemed to be getting rather annoyed that they chose to wait on her, Blazeth watched as she changed direction again. Spiralling in the air above her, he stayed far enough behind that she wouldn't catch sight of him. When he deemed that she was close enough he suddenly put on a burst of speed to bridge the gap between them, arrowing down toward her as she rose.

((um...? I think everyone left...))
So she was getting impatient, was she? Well then; maybe this was an opportunity. Isseth folded his wings abruptly and let the full magnitude of his weight come to terms with gravity. It was an agile, low-energy maneuver that would hopefully surprise the lazily-spiraling gold. As he plummeted like an arrow towards her, he vaguely registered a similar move made by the younger bronze below him...no matter. This queen was his. Plus, he had the advantage of a higher altitude...he clenched his foreclaws in anticipation.

((>< I'm going to go hit Niki with a big stick tomorrow. I was going to wait so people could post their dragon's reactions but you know what... >< May they all rue the missed opportunity.))
The gold continued to gain altitude, for a while still oblivious to the danger from above. It was nearly at the complete 180 of her spiral that a stray shadow drifted on the gold. Warily she took off straight ahead, unable to see her persuers and not wanting to take the time to find them. At least now they were properly chasing her.
((Niki fears the big stick... ^^"))

Reaching forward, Blazeth almost managed to grab Glith when the wily gold suddenly zipped right out from under his outstretched claws. Allowing himself to plummet for a mere moment longer, he turned the maneuver into a climbing glide. Racing after the shining one, he studied her every move, ready for any change that she might make in speed and/or direction. Fully aware that he was the youngest bronze chasing this golden prize, he allowed the thought to amuse him. He was ready to surprise them all.... especially Glith!!

Isseth waited breathlessly as Blazeth tried for and missed the queen. The situation was ideal; maybe she'd be too distracted by the young one's attempt to expect his stealthy attack. She had sped out of her spiral into a straight direction, but it didn't matter. He'd collected a tidy sum of speed in his downward plummet and was just about to gain on her. With a last lash of his tail he lunged down and towards her at an angle, swooping in a sudden burst of speed. His claws grasped, reaching to foul her wings...

Glith arced up to get away from the younger bronze and ended up unexpectedly fouling her wings with Isseth's claws. A mental shriek of frustration was soon cut off as the gold twined with the bronze.

The gold and bronze did a somersault in the air as their two momentum-driven bodies ran afoul of each other, but Isseth knew that the queen was his at last as his neck twined with hers, tails lashing...they soared far above the earth below, one entity, the age-old ritual of courting and conquering completed as it had been for centuries. He gave a roar of triumph.
Back on terra firma, R'nar came to back to himself in the darkness, giving in to the passions of flight-lust with relishing abandon...the night was theirs...
