So Saban bought back the Power Rangers, and now there will be a new series in 2011.

I can't say that I am exactly jumping for joy, or relieved, I am kind of holding my breath. My favorite series were the Time Force Rangers, SPD, Dino Thunder, and RPM years. Most of what I speak of are Disney products. I felt that some of the Disney series were a little more mature than the Saban products.

I still haven't came down from the high that RPM produced, and really hope that Saban doesn't disappoint this old power ranger fan. I've been following since '93, and practically grown up with the show. I couldn't believe how the show matured in the very end. Now, I am just sitting back, praying that Saban doesn't mess up what RPM did for the PR franchise.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I also hear that there is a new PR movie in the works, I don't know that it is about, but I would revamp Venjix...

Oh boy do I have some beefs with Power Rangers Samurai.

The first one I have is the morpher. Now I watched Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and loved the Shadophone. I thought it was awesome. I recently stopped by ToysRus to see the PR version of it, the Samuraizer. All I have to say is that I am disappointed. The morpher's number keys don't work, so only one button works, and it says cheesy PR quotes. I was going to get it to add to my collection, but after I saw it in person, I said no.

Second one I have is that Saban is trying to bring back the old style of PR with a new generation team, and that's not how Samurai Sentai Shinkenger was. It was a lot more serious, rather than comedic.

Third: Ok, if this is PR Samurai, why didn't Saban choose an Asian actor to play the Red Ranger? I mean come on! I understand they are trying to downplay the whole Japanese influence in this series, but for the love of god, it's SAMURAI! It's totally Japanese! Seriously, how could Saban really do this?

Buddy you are not the only one with beef with this new season. I saw the toys as well and frankly...i hope they do the zords better. Oh and its Sodophone.

Anyway my grievances are thus: One is the morphing phrase. yes i saw the promo they did on nick and all i can say is, who the hell came up with "Go Go Samurai" as they morphing key? Thats the lamest thing i have ever heard in my life!

Second was the first real fight with all the rangers. I want to kick the wrighters in the power coins for all the god dammed puns the put in. That was just horrible. Even kids are going to groan when they hear all those.

I just hope to god they dont keep doing that. and i also prey they changed the go go samurai bit after the preview, maybe that was a test pilot.

Sorry for my misspelling. But yes I agree with you, the "Go Go Samurai!" was the worst catch phrase I have heard. Is it sad that I might just be rooting for the bad guys this time? ^_^;

I hope the Gold Ranger Sushi Changer isn't too badly destroyed by Bandai of America, well as bad as the Samuraizer is. Maybe they might leave that intact....(one only hopes and wishes).

Yeah i hope so too about that. the gold ranger in shinkenger, granted he was a bit scattered brained but he was also a great fighter in his own right.

I saw the "first" episode they aired last night...my response is..what the hell!? What the hell was up with that super mode for when they used the zords? i can see the swords change to make it easier for them to control but the outfits were way to much. That was a waste of money on the budget when they could have done better with the script or even set design. hell it seemed to rushed..the episode itself. it seemed like they were trying very hard to make it work with the stock footage they got from japan. And the red ranger...dear god cant he show any emotion? he seemed blank! they all seemed like they had no previous experience or training in acting!

The ONLY upsides was the megazord itself and the fact they got Bulk back in there. Bulk and skull were two of my fave characters because they just worked soo well and grew the most out of any character from power rangers.

My final thought thus far of the series...they had better do a much better job soon or Toei and Bandai Japan will pull it from america all together. I hope they do better soon because if not then even the younger generation of power rangers fans will stop watching...because even they have standards and call tell good from bad tv shows.

Case in point... Masked Rider.

I have yet to watch anything else besides the promo (with the transformation). Judging by the posts so far... I wont be watching this series. Shinkenger was to good.

I've seen a few promos for the new series...

Does Saban still think that kids are still gullible as the early 90s? Sorry, but kids expect better acting and cooler designs. The kids next store like the new transformers over the cartoon version. They are 4 and six years old. How the hell can Saban expect to serve the same dish to this new generation? And get the same response? (We 80-90s generation dealt with old school special effects, and ate it up. But, I swear, the new generation, has higher expectations).

I thought is was pretty cool that the rangers traveled around New York for a photo shoot. That was neat.

But rehashing the ORIGINAL theme song, what?! No, no, no, no, no. That's a no-no. I haven't seen episode one yet, but when I do, I hope I am not sorely disappointed. And if I am, I'll just go back through the old series and re-watch them.

I understand what Saban was trying to do, bringing back the use of the original PR ideas that made the franchise popular. But taking a new sentai series, and trying to put an old spin on it.....well needless to say, so far, it's ending in disaster. And you're right, if this one tanks, Bandai is gonna pull PR from the USA for good.

Honestly, I think having an independent director who took on Kamen Rider Ryuki and brought it over as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight (say what you will, it was pretty successful up until it got canceled) was a good idea. The director even talked about bringing one of the other KR series over, like Kabuto or Faiz because of amount of riders in both series.

I think Saban needs to re-think his way of doing things, or he is gonna lose PR again. God forbid Disney gets it back. Though.....I would wonder how good/bad it would be if say Nick actually got their hands on it from Saban. Would it get better, or worse?

Okay..so i saw episode two and i saw one major improvement. They did the combat scenes much better. they actually had their own people wear the suits and fight. Now all they have to do is fix the dialog and acting and the show will work a lot better.

Oh, crap, the acting. I fell over-no! no! no! It is absolutely terrible. I thought the acting was bad in Wild Force and Jungle Fury (could only stand several minutes on end before turning it off), and now we have this?!?

I REALLY hope with you that the acting gets better.

(And the writers learn to write better crap).
