So I'm hearing from friends and scientists that when taking a closer look at the correlation between rising temperature and CO2, they state that CO2 rises as a result of rising temperature and not the other way around.
Any thoughts on this theory?

Hmmm. That is an interesting theory.
I guess then see what set off the whole chain?

Excuse my absence, I haven't been able to log on lately. Here are a few links on what I have researched so far:
http://www.skepticalscience.com/co2-lags-temperature.htm
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/06/09/a-study-the-temperature-rise-has-caused-the-co2-increase-not-the-other-way-around/
http://www.grist.org/article/historically-co2-never-caused-temperature-change/
I don't really like the conclusion of the whatsupwiththat website because they seem anti-global warming, but it doesnt hurt to look at their evidence.

In my opinion, the most basic fact to remember about CO2 is that it is required for photosynthesis (along with H2O.).
Sulfur dioxide in the air IS nasty stuff. Carbon dioxide is necessary for life.

yes i see your point but isnt CO2 in too much quantities a bad thing? just like if you drink too much water or of anything for the matter is bad?

I think those people only want to turn their heads for the sake of greed. That's how the oil companies are still profiting from gouging our pockets.

It's not so much the CO2 itself, it's the fact that we've been causing massive pollution for too long. If you keep grating a huge brick of cheese with a cheese grater you'll run out eventually, just like we keep grating away at the environment until it can't handle things and we pass the point of no return and things start falling apart.
